Casey Johnson died because she simply did not take care of herself ... sources connected with the autopsy tell TMZ.

The L.A. County Coroner says the cause of death was "Diabetic Ketoacidosis" and the manner of death was "natural."

But our sources say the Coroner's findings clearly show Johnson -- who died at 30 -- was not taking her insulin shots, was not exercising, did not follow her strict diet and was not taking other medicines she needed.

Diabetic Ketoacidosis is a technical term for lack of insulin, which often leads to a diabetic coma. We previously reported where Johnson was hospitalized for diabetic comas at least twice before her death.

Sources say there was a "high level meeting" yesterday between officials from both departments. The D.A. had kept the LAPD in the dark over the arrest and prosecution of Dr. Conrad Murray. In fact, until yesterday the LAPD was not informed of any plan for the arrest or surrender of Murray on involuntary manslaughter charges.

We reported earlier in the week that lawyers for Dr. Conrad Murray had been in touch with the D.A. and planned to drive the doctor themselves to the courthouse where he would be arraigned. That plan would have completely excluded the LAPD from the process.

The D.A.'s plan was especially maddening for the LAPD because detectives in the Robbery Homicide Division had spent months putting the complicated case together. Inside sources say it's one of the best, most thorough investigations the LAPD has conducted in years.

Tyler Perry is facing one hell of a lawsuit -- dude's accused of using a Gospel song on his show "Meet the Browns" without forking over any green to the guy behind the music.

It's all over a 2009 episode of the show, in which several characters sang the words, "The Devil thought he had me ... but I got away."

According to a new lawsuit filed Wednesday in federal court in Los Angeles, a songwriter named Johnny Tyrone Stringfield claims those lyrics came from his song, "I Got Away" -- a song which he copyrighted back in 2008.

Now, Stringfield claims Perry -- and the companies behind the show -- owe him more than $100,000 to make things right.

Sources tell TMZ a man who worked at Brittany Murphy's house has told the Coroner's Office that someone would deliver a sealed, manila envelope to the house every Friday filled with prescription medications in bottles. The name on the envelope -- "Lola."

Sources say the ex-employee told the Coroner drugs were also mailed from Los Angeles to Louisiana -- where Brittany was shooting a movie and Simon was tagging along -- in the months before she died.

We're told the pathologist in the Coroner's Office who is working on the case had a variety of questions for Simon and Sharon. Among the questions -- Why was there no record of Brittany seeing a doctor in the months before her death, especially because she had several medical conditions and was experiencing severe abdominal pains days before her death?

Dr. Conrad Murray will be arraigned Friday and charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson -- law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We're told Dr. Murray will turn himself in to the LAPD Friday morning. He will be booked and then taken to Airport Court in L.A., Department 144, where he will face a judge at 1:30 PM.

A pool video camera and a still camera will record the event.

TMZ spoke with the owner of the 3,200 square foot house who tells us ever since the show aired, demand to rent the place went through the roof.

The 6 bedroom, 3 bathroom house is currently going for $3,500 per night until May ... after that, it skyrockets up to $6,500 per night.

According to the owner, the legendary duck phone is still in the house -- as well as most of the couches, beds, tables and artwork that you saw on the show.

FYI -- the owner did mention that the home received a thorough cleaning after Snooki, The Situation and the rest of the gang moved out.

Before he started rescuing dogs, Shorty Rossi -- who went by the name Melvin Rossi -- was sentenced to 20 years in California State Prison for participating in a gang-related shooting in Los Angeles back in 1988.

Rossi -- who was a member of the Bloods street gang -- began his prison stint in 1989, but was released after 10 years.

Rossi has talked openly about his prison experience before -- but prides himself on turning his life around.

How's that for street cred?

Wayne Newton claims he was ripped off by the people he hired to fix his private jet -- claiming he blew more than $700,000 in repairs and the damn thing still doesn't work.

Newton is reportedly under fire for allegedly abandoning the jet in a hangar at the Oakland County International Airport in Michigan nearly three years ago -- the hangar claims Wayne owes more than $60,000 in storage fees.

But TMZ spoke with Newton's rep who told us Wayne is the real victim here -- because he's spent "more than $700,000 to get the plane fixed and it's still not fixed."

The rep tells us Wayne is exploring his legal options -- but it's unclear who Newton is looking to sue.

TMZ obtained a letter sent from the producers of "Jersey Shore" to the owner of Miami's Mynt Lounge -- asking for clearance to shoot footage inside the club in March and April.

The letter says 495 Productions is "currently researching Miami Beach as a possible location" for Season 2 and "won't be able to shoot the show on Miami Beach unless we're able to shoot in the hottest clubs."

But sources close to the show tell TMZ "Jersey Shore" has not committed to one city yet -- and even though they've sent out feelers to a bunch of different places, they're still deciding between 9 other cities both inside and outside of the US.

Two law enforcement sources have just told TMZ Dr. Conrad Murray will not be charged today in the death of Michael Jackson.

As we first reported, Dr. Murray's lawyers prepared yesterday to surrender Dr. Murray today, but we are now told the D.A. will not pull the trigger until tomorrow at the earliest.

And, sources tell us, when Dr. Murray appears in court for the first time, the D.A. will recommend that bail be set at $25,000 -- standard for involuntary manslaughter in L.A. County.

TMZ is at the Santa Monica apartment building where Dr. Murray's baby mama lives. We saw Dr. Murray at the apartment yesterday afternoon.

A plainclothes officer was in the car, parked on the same street but about 50 yards away from the apartment. The cop just said he is not there for Dr. Murray but would not say more.

Dr. Conrad Murray has dates in too many courtrooms ... we've learned Dr. Murray was supposed to be in a Las Vegas court this morning and just lost the case because he failed to appear.

Dr. Murray is being sued by Digirad Imaging Solutions, Inc., for not paying bills totaling $131,848.37. We're told Dr. Murray used the services of Digirad in his Vegas medical practice.

The case was called this morning but Dr. Murray -- who is in L.A. waiting to surrender on involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Michael Jackson -- was a no-show.

The judge entered a default judgment for the amount owed plus interest.

Leif Garrett was carrying black tar heroin in his shoe when he was arrested Monday morning in L.A., this according to law enforcement sources.

According to sources, cops first noticed Garrett shaking and sweating profusely at an L.A. Metrolink station -- when they asked him if they could perform a search of his person.

We're told cops asked Garrett if he had any drugs on him -- at first, Garrett told them he didn't ... but then later admitted he was packing heroin in his shoe.

Cops seized the drugs and arrested Garrett on the spot -- before transporting him to a nearby jail where he stayed behind bars until Wednesday morning.

Garrett was eventually released after posting $10,000 bail.

The L.A. County District Attorney's Office has told Dr. Conrad Murray's lawyers they will call just before Dr. Murray is charged with the death of Michael Jackson and a surrender will take place almost immediately thereafter ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Our sources say ... as of 8:35 AM PT, the D.A. has not made the call.

As we reported yesterday, Dr. Murray planned to surrender today and appear in arraignment court after being charged with involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson. The ball is in the D.A.'s court.

Dr. Murray is waiting.

Kim Kardashian was a winner in court today -- turning a temporary restraining order against an alleged stalker into a permanent one.

Kim -- who's in Miami for the Super Bowl with Reggie Bush -- claimed a guy named Dennis Shaun Bowman was, among other things, showing up at her appearances in the L.A. area acting bizarrely, sometimes wearing Joker face paint. She claimed he was stalking her and threatening Reggie Bush.

Neither Kardashian nor Bowman showed up to court. The restraining order is in effect until 2013.

Sources tell TMZ the L.A. County District Attorney's Office has a criminal complaint drafted and ready to file against Dr. Conrad Murray in the death of Michael Jackson.

We're told it's now just a matter of timing before Dr. Murray is charged with involuntary manslaughter -- a felony that carries a maximum 4-year prison sentence.

As we first reported, Dr. Murray plans on surrendering today, so all signs point to the D.A. filing criminal charges as early as this morning.

Dr. Murray is in Los Angeles and his legal team is already mapping out strategy.
