Cory Monteith's Mom Klugman's Son is Wrong My Son Deserves This

Cory Monteith's mom thinks Jack Klugman's son has it all wrong -- because Cory could have been the next Jack Klugman had he lived.

Ann McGregor thinks Adam Klugman is being unfair, telling TMZ her son is absolutely worthy of getting a special in memoriam honor at tonight's Emmy Awards ... even though Jack isn't getting one.

Ann tells us she believes you cannot judge worthiness by a person's age because her son was on a path of greatness -- not only with his acting and singing abilities ... but with the charitable work he did.

Ann tells us, "If he had lived 30 more years he would have accomplished much more."

Ann believes Adam Klugman is misdirected ... and thinks its coming from a place of a son who loves and misses his father.

FYI -- Ann isn't going to the Emmys tonight and won't even watch because she says it's too painful.

Emmy B.S. Honor a Drug Addict Diss a TV Legend

The suits who run the Emmys had to make a hard choice in deciding which dead actor to honor-- a TV icon who has won multiple Emmys, or a young actor with no Emmys who is now as famous for being a drug addict as a TV star. They chose door number 2.

It's interesting. We've spoken with several people who have won Emmys who are upset with the decision to give a special honor to Cory Monteith but not Jack Klugman, and they're all too scared to speak out ... for fear of some sort of retaliation.

Jack Klugman -- who has won 3 Emmys and starred in TV classics -- "The Odd Couple" and "Quincy M.E." -- has been overlooked and disrespected for special mention during tonight's ceremony. Instead ... Cory Monteith gets the honor. Jack's son thinks it's ridiculous and disrespectful, and he's right.

The Emmys are honoring 5 TV types who died in the last year -- 4 of whom have earned their stripes ... Jonathan Winters, Jean Stapleton, James Gandolfini, Gary David Goldberg -- and then there's Cory.

BTW ... Larry Hagman was also overlooked.

One TV type who has won multiple Emmys but wanted to remain anonymous scoffed and told TMZ, "Awards are like hemorrhoids. Eventually every asshole gets one."

Jane Lynch 'I Kinda Like Being Single'

It's clear marriage wasn't right for Jane Lynch -- at least not now -- 'cause the "Glee" star tells TMZ she's really diggin' the single life at the moment.

The always friendly Lynch was out in Bev Hills the other day when we asked her if she's ready to meet some new ladies, now that a couple of months have passed since she and wife Lara Embry split up.

But Lynch says she's not sure she wants to jump back into a relationship -- telling us, "I kinda like being single."

Makes sense, considering Lynch's divorce recently turned nasty -- with Embry trying to nail Jane to the wall with more than $93k per month in spousal support.

With those kinda problems, single life kinda makes sense ... right?

Jane Lynch I Still Believe in Gay Marriage

Jane Lynch scoffs at the notion that gay people have hastily jumped into marriage ... this in the wake of what has become a contentious divorce between her and wife Lara Embry.

TMZ broke the story ... Embry is now trying to nail Jane to the wall with spousal support ... she wants more than $93k a month.

Embry says she wants Jane to support her in the lifestyle to which she has become accustomed during their 3 years of marriage. Shockingly, Jane isn't blanching at that.

Check out the video.

Jane Lynch Estranged Wife Says I Want More Money!

Jane Lynch and Dr. Lara Embry's "amicable" divorce just turned "unfriendly" ... because Embry is making a full-court press for Jane's bank accounts -- to the tune of $93,809 a month in spousal support!

In new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, Embry says for the last 3 years, Jane's average monthly income has been $234,688. Embry also says when she married Lynch, Jane told her she had $400,000 in her savings and 401K combined, and owned her home.

Embry says of her "Glee" wife, "Her income, investments and assets increased dramatically with her newfound acting success."

Embry -- who says she wants Jane to support her in the lifestyle to which she gladly became accustomed -- says during their marriage Jane paid for everything, including lavish vacations.

Embry says she and Jane typically racked up $40k a month on their credit cards.

According to Embry's docs, she currently earns pennies, but still spends in the neighborhood of $40,900 per month -- including an average of $6,500 on clothes, $12,000 on entertainment/gifts/vacation, and $4,500 on eating out (hehe).

Sources tell us ... Jane is already providing Embry with support. In fact, Embry and her daughter are living in the house Jane bought and Jane temporarily moved elsewhere. But the house is a big sticking point. Embry says they sunk $3 mil into the house for renovations and from the docs it seems she either wants the house or a 50% cut.

Sources tell us the couple did not have a prenup, which means assets acquired during the marriage will probably be split 50/50.

Jane filed to end her three-year marriage to Lara in July, citing "irreconcilable differences." The two first met in 2009 at a fundraiser in San Francisco. They were married a year later in Massachusetts.

Jane said recently the financial negotiations have been friendly, adding, "It's just money." Right.

Lea Michele Resurfaces After Cory's Death

Lea Michele had her first public outing after the tragic death of BF Cory Monteith ... to celebrate the birth of a friend's baby.

The "Glee" star has been grieving privately since news broke that Monteith had been found dead last month in a Vancouver hotel ... after OD'ing on heroin.

Lea went to the baby shower of her friend Jamie-Lynn Sigler ... dressed all in white.

Jane Lynch Cory Monteith 'Glee' Memorial Was 'Beautiful'

The "Glee" cast is finally beginning to heal after Cory Monteith's death -- so says the late actor's co-star Jane Lynch ... who tells TMZ, she found new comfort during today's special memorial organized by Monteith's gf Lea Michele.

Lynch was out in L.A. when we asked about the memorial -- co-organized by "Glee" creator Ryan Murphy -- where the cast and crew gathered to say their final goodbyes to the late actor, sharing memories and music. Lynch gave a glowing review.

As we reported, 31-year-old Monteith died from a heroin overdose at a Vancouver hotel on July 13.

So far, it's unclear how "Glee" will handle Monteith's death on the show, but Murphy has said there will be a tribute episode that will address his passing.

Jane Lynch Doggin' It With Estranged Wife Look-alike

Jane Lynch and her estranged wife Lara Embry are BACK TOGETHER -- just kidding ... it's just one of Jane's close friends ... who happens to look exactly like Lara.

Jane hit the streets of West Hollywood Monday with their dogs -- and everyone on the planet thought Jane and Lara were patching things up, but it's just not so.

The other woman in the photo is actually Jane's longtime friend Laura Coyle ... but, yeah ... she does look A LOT like Lara.

As we reported, Jane revealed last month that she and her estranged wife were calling off their 3-year marriage.

'Glee' Star Dianna Agron Radio Silence After Cory Monteith Tribute

There were no words ... "Glee" star Dianna Agron refused to answer questions about Cory Monteith's death Saturday ... this just moments after leaving a concert dedicated to her fallen co-star.

Our photog spotted Dianna -- who played one of Cory's love interests on the show -- leaving the Roxy in L.A. She had been there with fellow "Glee" kids Kevin McHale and Jenna Ushkowitz to watch co-star Chord Overstreet perform.

Before the show started, Chord dedicated the gig to Cory, reportedly shouting out "I love you buddy." He then sang "Billionaire" ... one of the first songs he performed with Cory on "Glee".

'Glee' Creator Ryan Murphy Decides Fate of Cory Monteith's Character

"Glee" creator Ryan Murphy finally broke his silence on Cory Monteith's tragic death ... addressing both the actor's desire to get clean and what will happen to his character on the show.

Murphy spoke to several media outlets Saturday -- one week after Cory OD'd on heroin.

Ryan said, "It’s always sad and shocking when somebody so young dies, but one of the things that made it even more upsetting is that so many of us who knew and loved him were actively involved in trying to get him better."

He added, Cory was working hard as well, recently telling him, "I want to get better."

But it wasn't easy ... Ryan recalled the last time he saw Cory (in June in Fire Island). He said he felt something was off, "I honestly couldn’t tell what was going on with him. He didn’t seem quite himself, but when I confronted him he claimed he was clean."

As for the fate of "Glee" -- whose season was delayed two weeks -- Ryan says Cory's passing will be addressed in episode 3 ... which will be a tribute to the actor and deal with the death of his character, Finn.

TMZ broke the story ... it was previously unknown how Finn would be written out of the show. Producers called a meeting earlier in the week to figure it out.

'Glee' Production Delayed Over Cory Monteith Death

The new season of "Glee" will premiere 2 weeks behind schedule ... due to the death of its star Cory Monteith, this according to FOX.

The network issued a statement saying the show will premiere on September 26 -- it was originally scheduled to debut on September 13.

Sources tell us ... producers have been meeting to discuss how to phase out Cory's character. We're told producers wanted to give the cast and crew time to grieve Cory's death.

As a result, production has been pushed back to early August.

Monteith passed away last week after OD'ing on heroin and alcohol. He was 31.

Mark Salling State Farm is 'Despicable'

Mark Salling doesn't buy that State Farm is like a good neighbor .... he's suing the insurance company, claiming its refusal to cover him against sexual battery allegations is "despicable" and "malicious."

TMZ broke the story ... Salling was sued by a woman who claims on one occasion when she was dating the "Glee" star ... she insisted that he wear a condom during sex but he refused and forcibly had unprotected sex. The woman -- a former Playboy model -- claims she went to his house later that month to demand proof that he was STD-free, and he responded by pushing her to the ground.

Salling claims in his lawsuit the State Farm homeowner's policy requires the company to foot his legal and other bills connected with his defense, but State Farm has repeatedly refused.

Although there's no mention as to why State Farm won't cover Salling, we're guessing the insurance company is hanging its hat on a provision that excludes criminal acts from its coverage.

As for the sexual battery case against the actor ... it's ongoing.

Lea Michele Controlling Cory In Life and Death

Cory Monteith had a very strong guardian angel by his side ... his girlfriend Lea Michele, who essentially controlled Cory in life and even death.

Sources connected with both Cory and Lea tell TMZ ... Lea swooped in when Cory died and immediately took over planning his memorial and other matters connected with his death. We're told Cory's mom is not involved at all in the planning -- it's all Lea.

Everyone agrees ... Lea always had Cory's back and tried protecting him as much as she could, especially when it came to his substance abuse. We're told Cory -- who was sweet but naive -- got banged around in Hollywood by what one relative called "a zoo of piranhas" and when Lea became his girlfriend she fiercely protected him.

As for Cory's drug and alcohol problems ... Lea laid down the law in the United States and did everything she could to keep him from relapsing. When he did relapse earlier this year, she was the one who took the lead and engineered the plan to get Cory in rehab.

We're told Lea's problem was that when Cory went to Canada ... all bets were off.

Cory Monteith's Death 'Glee' Will Go On

"Glee" is going full steam ahead without Cory Monteith -- and TMZ has learned, the show's writers have called an emergency meeting today to figure out how to work him out of the story.

Sources close to production tell us, “Glee is definitely not canceled. If you look at the dollars and cents of the show and that it was very much an ensemble with new kids being added last year when some graduated. It’s clear that the show wasn’t about one character."

Our source says producers are taking their cue from shows like "8 Simple Rules" and "The West Wing," which have also suffered real-life deaths ... the lesson being: one character doesn't make or break a show.

Our source adds, "The producers and writers are taking time to meet and figure out how to best address this situation in the context of Glee. No decision has been reached about a script yet, as it’s still early."

Cory Monteith Did Not Die From 'Deadly' Heroin

Cory Monteith did NOT die from a new strain of deadly heroin that has been going around the Vancouver area -- this according to the coroner.

A police dept. 40 miles from Vancouver had issued a release warning a "toxic' mixture of heroin and fentanyl has caused a spike in heroin ODs.

The coroner who did the autopsy on Cory tells TMZ ... NO FENTANYL was found in Cory's system.

We're hearing the likely scenario is that Cory had not used heroin since entering rehab in April, and he may have gone back to the same dose he had learned to tolerate when he was using, but because his body was clean it couldn't handle the shock.

Cory Monteith Cremated Father 'Devastated'

Cory Monteith's body was cremated Tuesday in Vancouver following a private viewing with his family and girlfriend Lea Michele, TMZ has learned -- but Cory's father wasn't invited ... and he's heartbroken.

Cory's dad Joe Monteith -- who is divorced from Cory's mom Ann -- tells TMZ ... he was informed of the cremation after the fact, adding he's "totally devastated" he didn't get a chance to see Cory's body.

We're told Cory's body was released yesterday to his mom, and she decided to hold a viewing at the hospital with Lea and Cory's brother Shaun. Following the viewing, we're told Cory's mom decided to have him cremated.

Cory's dad tells us, "I always loved both my sons and am going to miss Cory very very much. I'm saddened at the fact that I couldn't have been there to see my son before he was cremated."

As for Cory's alleged heroin use ... his dad says he's "shocked."
