Sex and the Wackjob City
We're not sure what they're serving at the craft services table on the SoHo set of "Sex and the City," but things definitely got a little wacky there yesterday.
Accident Kills "Dark Knight" Crew Member
A special effects technician was killed Monday in an accident during London production of the latest Batman film "The Dark Knight."
Warner Bros. said the unidentified crew member died when a truck carrying a camera platform crashed into a tree while following a stunt vehicle. Filming on the movie was not taking place at the time, and no actors were involved in the accident.
The studio issued a statement saying the producers, cast and crew "are deeply saddened by this tragedy and their hearts and prayers go out to the family and loved ones of the deceased."
Just Like Old "Sex" -- More of the Same
It was 1998 all over again as Sarah Jessica Parker and Chris Noth did their best Carrie-and-Big all over the Upper East Side yesterday.
TMZ cameras caught the on-screen couple in various states of canoodle and just plain idling as the "Sex and the City" flick finally began shooting in New York. Despite the producers' attempts to keep lensmen away from the set, we managed to find SJP and Noth in a number of tony locations, including just outside celebriteria Nello's.
Despite appearances to the contrary, we caught the minuscule Sarah Jessica actually grazing at the craft services table -- a shock along the lines of finding Carrie Bradshaw in flats!
Jessica Simpson Falls Down Drunk?
Singer turned bad actress Jessica Simpson did her best Courtney Love imitation on Wednesday, by falling down and clutching a champagne bottle while shooting a scene for her (lawd have mercy) new movie, "Major Movie Star." Did she learn nothing from "Dukes of Hazzard"?!
The film is similar to the Goldie Hawn classic, "Private Benjamin." Viewers will need to get a Purple Heart after sitting through Jessica's military "comedy!"
Cuba Gooding Jr: Show Me the Suit!
Show him the money! Oscar-winning actor/sloganator extraordinaire Cuba Gooding Jr. attended the premier of the new Brad Pitt vehicle "The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford" last night at the Ziegfeld in NYC. He then headed to the premier after-party at Guastavino's and graciously signed autographs for fans -- he even signed one ill-prepared woman's business card.
His snazzy black silk single-breasted suit got mad props from the crowd. When one fan asked Cuba to "Show me the money!" he slyly gestured to his suit, and replied, "You don't see it?"
Danny DeVito Needs to Be Stopped -- Now!
Apparently, all the limoncellos he's been drinking are going straight to Danny DeVito's head. He's thinking about doing a sequel to "Throw Momma From the Train." What, what, what?
The former "Taxi" star says he even broached the topic with the film's co-star, Billy Crystal. "I actually haunt Billy [Crystal] all the time," he told the MTV Movies Blog. "I always call him and say we should do a sequel." What's next, "Other People's Money 2"?
The "momma" in question, Anne Ramsey, was nominated for a Golden Globe and an Oscar for the movie (who knew?), but died less than a year after the movie was released. No, she wasn't thrown from a train.

he has a celeb look-alike who is even more terrifying than the iconic serial killer.
Keira Bandaged Up
A ghostly Keira Knightley attended the UK preem of "Atonement," a WW2 romance drama. Swathed in layers of what appear to be prop Red Cross bandages leftover from filming, the slight Miss K wafted down the red carpet on her own power. Dead Man's Chest!
Keira turned 22 in March. Years, not pounds.
Halle Berry ... Baby on Board!
TMZ has learned that producers of the upcoming Lionsgate film "Tulia" have scrapped plans to start filming in October -- as the film's star, Halle Berry, is three months pregnant!
A source close to the production tells us Berry, 41, who is currently dating hottie model Gabriel Aubry, was set to star in the movie about the drug and racial profiling scandal in Tulia, Texas. The film, which was scheduled for a 2008 release, was to be directed by John Singleton and also starred Billy Bob Thornton.
We're told the project has not been shelved entirely; producers may decide to pick it up at a later date.
UPDATE: Halle Berry has confirmed the news of her pregnancy to "Access Hollywood." Congrats!

All Aboard! Train Wrecks Gather for Anna Pic
Bobby Trendy has finally found some equally disastrous friends -- in the terrible twosome of Chyna Doll and Mary Carey. Train wreck trifecta!
TMZ was at the star-studded premiere of "Anna," the first biopic of the late Anna Nicole Smith, and in typical Trendy fashion, Bobby once again made himself the center of attention. The Queen of Taffeta went on yet another random rant, this time proclaiming he should take custody of Dannielynn. Nurse!
Chyna Doll lamented the passing of her friend and "Illegal Aliens" co-star ... while Mary Carey, who didn't even know Anna, was just happy to be noticed. The film's star, Willa Ford, didn't even show.

Lil' Gummi as a Lil' Farley
\Who knew Jason "Gummi Bear" Davis had talent? Okay, that might be pushing it.
But it turns out Gummi does have a bit of an acting career in his past, albeit a small one. A pre-Gummified Davis had a very small part in the 1997 Chris Farley flick, "Beverly Hills Ninja" as the young Farley. Yup, there is some resemblance there.
Gummi is in the movie for a only few seconds -- just enough time to hit someone over the head with a stick.

John Singleton Involved in Fatal Pedestrian Accident
John Singleton, acclaimed director of "Boyz in the Hood," was involved in a fatal accident Thursday night in Los Angeles.
LAPD officers tell TMZ Singleton was driving his 2001 Lexus SUV around 8:00 PM on a Los Angeles street, when a female pedestrian, not in a crosswalk, suddenly stepped in front of Singleton's car. Police say Singleton immediately stopped and waited for police and an ambulance to arrive. The 57-year-old woman, identified as Constance Russell of Los Angeles, was taken to a nearby hospital where she died Friday morning.
Police tell TMZ Singleton was not speeding at the time and was not under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Cops say their investigation has concluded and they've determined that this was a "very, very unfortunate accident."
Singleton will not be cited for any violation.
A call placed to Singleton's agent was not immediately returned.
Will Films While Staff Chills
UPDATE: Adam Handelsman, EVP of 5WPR who represents the Patina Group, tells TMZ this is completely untrue. Patina Group owns multiple restaurants in the L.A. market. The staff were told that if they wanted to work, they could pick up shifts at other restaurants. "The vast majority," says Adam, "simply took a couple days off."
Hunky Will Smith is currently filming "Hancock" with hottie Charlize Theron at swanky Los Angeles eatery, Cafe Pinot -- and it's putting the pinch on the staff -- big time.
Our spies on set tell us that filming began on Monday and will conclude on Thursday, with the restaurant reopening Friday. And while the Patina Restaurant Group (home of celeb chef Joachim Splichal) is profiting from the location filming, all staff members at the restaurant have been told to stay home for the week -- with no pay! Not so tasty! The Fresh Prince of Bel Air would never treat his subjects like that!
David Arquette: Copycat?
TMZ has just learned that actor/producer David Arquette and his company, Coquette Productions, Inc. are being sued for copyright infringement.
In the lawsuit, filed yesterday in Federal court, Fritz Junker is accusing Arquette's movie, "The Tripper," of being a copy of his film, "The Truth About Beef Jerky." According to the lawsuit, "A reasonable audience presented with the two works would recognize 'The Tripper' to be based upon 'The Truth About Beef Jerky.'" They both sound like high-concept pieces.
Case in point: Both movies tell the story of a group of modern-day hippies who travel to the Redwood Forest of Northern California for a music festival and are hunted and killed by a psychopath who hates their dippy-trippy lifestyle. We smell Oscar!
Junker is seeking monetary compensation in an amount to be determined at trial. He claims "The Tripper" has destroyed the commercial potential of "The Jerky" and that he has suffered significant harm and injury.
We're waiting for a call back from Arquette's reps.
The Lost Boys 2: Elderly Vampires, Too!
Crazy-eyes Corey Feldman and his be-Botoxed trainwreck/sidekick Corey Haim have both signed on to reprise their roles in a long overdue (translation: should never be made) sequel to the 1987 teen horror flick "The Lost Boys."
The former teen heartthrobs are now way over the celebrity hill, but that hasn't stopped them from acting like little babies on their A&E reality show, the oh-so-creatively titled "The Two Coreys."
The 80s throwbacks starred in numerous films together, including "Dream a Little Dream" and "License to Drive."
