Atlanta Falcons defensive end James Pearce Jr. is no longer facing a charge of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer after his alleged domestic dispute with Rickea Jackson, TMZ Sports has learned.

Court documents we obtained show that prosecutors have dropped the charge against the 22-year-old. A spokesperson for the DA said in evaluating all the evidence, they didn't believe they could prove it beyond a reasonable doubt.

It's a small break for Pearce -- the charge comes with up to five years behind bars.

He isn't out of the woods at all, though ... as prosecutors filed a handful of other charges in the incident -- including stalking, fleeing and eluding police, resisting an officer with violence, and aggravated battery with a deadly weapon.

The post spread quickly across the football world … with fans blasting the sentiment given CTE -- chronic traumatic encephalopathy -- is a brain disease linked to repeated head trauma in football.

TMZ Sports has obtained police bodycam footage from the night cops shut down a bar party thrown by New England Patriots players after earning a trip to the Super Bowl ... showing officers being notified the AFC champs were present.

In the video, cops arrive at an establishment called Estella shortly after 2 AM on Jan. 27. When they make their way downstairs ... they find people gathered in the basement -- which featured hookahs, strippers and a floor filled with dollar bills.

As one of the cops watched people make their way up and down the stairs, a woman approached him and said, "I understand you have a job to do, but do you understand who is in the room?"

According to court docs we obtained, prosecutors filed the motion to dismiss in the case against the Tennessee Titans' 2024 second-round draft pick ... saying they cannot prove beyond a reasonable doubt the "element of intoxication."

Former New York Jets running back and Super Bowl III winner Matt Snell has died at the age of 84.

ESPN was first to share the news, reporting that Snell's son -- Beau -- said he passed away Tuesday morning on Long Island. No cause of death was given.

Snell spent his entire playing career with Green Gang -- joining the team in 1964 and remaining until his retirement in 1972. In his first season, he took home the AFL Rookie of the Year honors, as well as being named an AFL All-Star.

Over two months after New England Patriots defensive lineman Christian Barmore was hit with domestic assault charges ... officials in Massachusetts have now dropped the case against him -- saying that it was "not viable for prosecution."

The decision came down moments ago in an Attleboro courtroom ... where prosecutors said that following the updated information, they were going to file notice to formally drop the case against Barmore.

"Mr. Barmore is grateful to the District Attorney's Office for carefully evaluating the facts,
reviewing the materials that his attorney shared with them, and acting in the interests of justice," David Meier, Barmore's attorney, said in a statement

He was initially charged in connection with an incident that occurred in August 2025. According to a police report, obtained by TMZ Sports, a woman told cops that Barmore became angry with her after a disagreement over the temperature of the bedroom air conditioner.

2:23 PM PT -- According to Adam Schefter ... the Chiefs will give Kelce a one-year, $12 million deal that can max out at $15 million.

Travis Kelce has reportedly made up his mind on his NFL future, and the 36-year-old plans on lacing up his cleats for the 2026 NFL season ... and all signs point to him running it back with the Kansas City Chiefs!

Multiple NFL insiders reported Monday that Kelce and the Chiefs were working toward a deal that would keep him with Patrick Mahomes and the rest of the K.C. squad.

The news comes after Kelce was reportedly considering his options following a disappointing season with the Chiefs, who finished third in the AFC West.
