Earlier in the day -- after TMZ broke the news of her failed drug test ... and after we broke the news it was for cocaine ... and after we broke the news it was multiple failed drug tests -- our camera guy spotted Lindsay out for a drive.

Law enforcement sources tell us the paparazzo seen grappling with Lambert on the beach yesterday walked into a Miami Beach police station around 10:30 PM last night and filed a report ... accusing the singer of misdemeanor battery.

According to the police report, obtained by TMZ, the victim claims Adam grabbed his backpack "where the camera was placed" ... and "wrestled [the photog] to the ground forcefully."

One big problem -- in photos that were taken of the incident, the camera appears to be in the photog's hand ... not in his bag.

The police report also notes that the photog didn't sustain any "bruises or lacerations."

Cops tell detectives will decide if the case is worth turning over to the State's Attorney -- who will decide whether to prosecute Lambert. If convicted, Lambert could face up to one year in jail and a $1,000 fine.

After yesterday's clash -- Lambert went right to his Twitter account and posted, "I lost my temper for a sec but wow it felt great lol MIAMI!!!"

The gruesome twosome just happened to be photographed while kissing on Heidi's 24th birthday in Santa Barbara yesterday -- while Montag proudly displayed her wedding ring.

It all went down in the notoriously expensive Hermes store -- where we're told Kim and her mother Kris purchased six of the label's exclusive "Birkin" bags ... valued at around $10,000 apiece.

But here's the kicker -- sources close to the reality star tell TMZ, Kim also bought herself an extremely rare crocodile-skin bag from the upscale French boutique ... worth around $30,000.

Overall, the Kardashians easily surpassed the $100k mark.

Mel taped on his best Quaker Oats moustache -- along with a hat and glasses combo -- in a failed attempt to go incognito in L.A. yesterday.

We were pretty shocked ... but a TSA spokesperson tells TMZ handcuffs are not on the "Prohibited Items List."

As for what you're not allowed to carry on ... the list includes, billy clubs, brass knuckles, kubatons, nightsticks, nunchakus, dynamite, flares, cattle prods, drills and gas torches.

Meanwhile on the same day, Kate's ex-husband Jon Gosselin played daddy day care with his eight kids and girlfriend Ellen Ross in Pennsylvania.

But in all seriousness ... The Palazzo is a giant, swanky apartment community the size of a small city that happens to be located right near the CBS lot where "Dancing with the Stars" shoots. We're told he had his eyes on a unit that ran more than $5k per month ... but no sweat off his brow -- "DWTS" picks up the tab.

As we first reported, a photog named Brendon O'Neal (not employed by TMZ) is suing Richards -- claiming the "Seinfeld" actor approached him on an L.A. street on August 25 in a "menacing manner ... with closed fists" -- then proceeded to beat the crap out of him.

But in the pics, Richards appears to be cracking a smile -- definitely non-menacing -- and the only reason his fist could even be considered "closed" ... is because he's clutching his keys.

Obviously, we don't know what happened in between the shots -- but the photog claims he suffered "great mental, physical, and nervous pain" during the alleged altercation.

The 28-year-old "Glee" star was rollin' around L.A. this weekend in a cherry red Ferrari California ... which start at $190,000.

FYI -- the car can go from 0 to 60 mph in less than four seconds ... and tops out at around 193 mph.
