Pittsburgh Steelers Skip National Anthem ... Before Bears Game

Published | Updated

1:00 PM PT -- The Seattle Seahawks and Tennessee Titans have followed the Steelers' lead ... and have both announced they will not be on the sidelines for the National Anthem prior to their game.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin just announced his team won't be on the field for the National Anthem before their game against the Bears ... saying "we're not gonna be divided by anything said by anyone."

While he doesn't mention Donald Trump specifically, it's clear Tomlin is firing back at the president's call to fire the "sons of bitches" who kneel during the anthem.

The decision to stay in the locker rooms is "not to be disrespectful to the anthem, but to remove ourselves from this circumstance," Tomlin says.

Around 20 Baltimore Ravens and Jacksonville Jaguars players took a knee prior to their game in London earlier today ... with many other teams sharing plans to show signs of solidarity.

Both baby and daddy looked great (Antonio had a big smile on his face) -- hopefully mom, Chelsie Kyriss, is doing well too.

It's AB's 5th kid -- 3 with Chelsie and 2 from a previous relationship.

Congrats!

PULLING THEIR WEIGHT

James Harrison is the KING of crazy strength training videos ... but an NFL rookie might be comin' for the throne.

In the blue corner ... 39-year-old Steelers LB pushing a sled weighing OVER 1,800 POUNDS -- that's one plate for each year of his life.

In the red corner ... 22-year-old Falcons LB Duke Riley pulling an SUV weighing AT LEAST 5,500 POUNDS -- a 2017 Yukon Denali plus his buddy in the driver's seat.

James takes a few tries. Duke did his easy.

Keep in mind, though ... pushing is harder than pulling -- and Duke has wheels workin' for him too.

So, what's more impressive?

Pittsburgh Steelers CB Brings Gun to Airport ... Not Arrested

Published | Updated

Pittsburgh Steelers cornerback Senquez Golson was stopped by TSA agents at an airport in Alabama after they found a handgun and bullets in his carry-on bag ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Maybe he was flying United???

Here's what we know ... the 2015 2nd round draft pick was going through security at Mobile Regional Airport around noon Wednesday when they found a Glock .45 caliber pistol along with 23 rounds of ammunition in the magazine.

There's a discrepancy over whether the gun can be considered "loaded" or "unloaded" since there was technically not a round in the chamber.

TSA alerted police and officers took the bag and escorted Golson out of the area.

Golson was NOT arrested. Instead, cops offered to hold the gun for him until he returned from his travels ... at which time he could pick it up.

How's that for southern hospitality?

Joey Porter DEFINITELY got up close and angry with a bouncer before his Pittsburgh arrest -- but he did NOT rough the guy up ... and new security footage proves it.

Officials have finally released the video evidence in the case against the Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach ... and while he certainly gets mad at the bouncer for not letting him in, we sure as hell don't see an assault.

Porter was initially charged with aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public intoxication ... but eventually pled guilty to JUST disorderly conduct.

He paid a fine ... and that's it.

HE WILL BE DEALT WITH

Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says he regrets referring to the Patriots as "a-holes" during his locker room speech ... and says Antonio Brown will be punished.

Tomlin just addressed the media about Brown's unauthorized Facebook Live video from the locker room after the Chiefs game ... and says it was "foolish, selfish and inconsiderate."

He noted the video was a violation of Steelers team and league policy.

Tomlin says Brown will be punished by the team -- but didn't expand on what the punishment will be. He hasn't spoken with Brown since the incident.

Tomlin says the locker room speech was supposed to be a private moment ... and moments like those shouldn't be shared.

As for his language in the video, Tomlin says, "As a parent, as a member of the community I take that very seriously. I issue an apology in that regard."

He also praised Tom Brady and said the Pats are a "great team."

Antonio Brown would get his ASS CHEWED over that locker room video if he was on the Pats ... at least, that's what Tom Brady insinuated ... saying, "I don’t think that would go over well with our coach."

The Patriots QB appeared on "Kirk & Callahan" on WEEI 93.7 FM when he was asked about Brown live streaming his head coach's locker room speech without Mike Tomlin's knowledge ... a speech that included Tomlin referring to the Pats as "assholes."

It's clear Brady believes Bill Belichick wouldn't have let that crap slide.

As for the A-holes comment, Brady didn't address that specifically -- but said Brown's decision to live stream a private moment wouldn't fly with the Pats.

"What’s done in the locker room should stay in the locker room.”

Joey Porter Allegedly Attacked Bouncer ... In Front of Cops

Published | Updated

New details from the Joey Porter arrest ... cops say the Pittsburgh Steelers assistant coach roughed up a bouncer at a South Side bar after the game Sunday night ... in a VERY boozy altercation.

According to the court complaint ... an off-duty cop arrived to the bar around 9:30 PM to find the former linebacker "standing over" the doorman.

The doorman told Porter, "Last time you were here, you threatened to kill me. You need to leave. You are not getting in."

At that point, cops say "Porter lunged at [the bouncer] and grasped [him] by his arms" ... and lifted him off the ground.

The off-duty officer says he rushed in and pulled Porter off the bouncer. The cop says Porter then grabbed HIM by the wrist -- and tried to plead his innocence.

He told the cop, while still grabbing him, "I'm not touching you."

The cop says Porter reeked of booze.

Eventually, Porter let go and was arrested. The cop says he was in fear that Porter was going to cause him "serious injury."

Porter was eventually booked for aggravated assault, simple assault, resisting arrest, disorderly conduct and public drunkenness.

Bail was set at $25k.
