OCTAGON-FOCUSED
TMZSports.com

Ex-NFL star Greg Hardy -- who's been killing people in his short MMA career -- says he's 100% focused on fighting in the UFC and wouldn't even consider going back to the NFL ... with one exception.

"I'm not putting any brakes on the UFC movement, man. I'm going all in with it," Hardy told the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show.

But, Hardy added ... "I'm not crazy, man. I'm not gonna turn down anybody's $10, $15 million, but I can't see myself stepping off this path."

Hardy is still playing semi-pro football with the Richmond Roughriders -- but, with Dana White clearly pumped about the guy's potential as a UFC fighter, those days may be coming to an end very soon.

FYI, Hardy's 5 MMA fights have lasted a grand total of about 3 and a half minutes.

As for when Hardy's expected back in the Octagon -- we're trying to find out. Stay tuned ...

FYI -- Mighty Mouse recently broke Anderson's UFC title defense record with his 11th straight ... but dude might be too humble to ever say he's the best.

His 4-year-old son will, though -- and it's cute as hell.

Jay Williams I Was Offered $$ During College Recruiting ... And I Said No

IT'S PART OF THE BUSINESS
TMZSports.com

College hoops hall of famer Jay Williams says the world of college hoops didn't JUST get dirty ... telling TMZ Sports he was offered money during his recruitment but turned it down.

Jay sat down with the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show and talked about the scandal rocking the NCAA ... 4 big-name coaches and an Adidas honcho being arrested after an FBI corruption sting.

Williams claims the money grab game is nothing new, and when asked if he himself had been offered any money during his recruitment -- he was the nation's #3 recruit in '99 -- Jay kept it real.

"Yes, we did. I was lucky enough because my mother and father both had jobs. My mother had been involved in education, and my dad had been involved with Amex for 20 years, and they're like, 'We don't need that.'"

Despite the fact he turned down the cash, Jay says he doesn't blame any kid for taking the greenbacks -- acknowledging they all don't have the same advantages.

"I'm not gonna use my experience to slight somebody who does need that. You are going into a business, regardless of whether the outside world looks at you like you're going into the purity of college basketball, it's not that way at all. Everybody is profiting off you."

The Octagon appeared to be cleaned by the time Lee and Chiesa squared off -- but that didn't stop Woodley from giving Lee crap about fighting in the brown'd-out Octagon anyway!

"I watched him destroy young men's dreams at 17 ... and we had just won a '95 championship that year so we had a lot of guys on the team that were pretty cocky."

TALKIN' SMACK
TMZSports.com

Woodley explained the whole thing on the "TMZ Sports" TV show on FS1 -- saying Vin "pulled up" on him at the premiere and explained why he'd kick that ass.

We're told Vin cited his experience as a bouncer back in the day before he was a movie star.

There was bad blood between Rock and Vin when they were shooting the last installment of 'Fast and the Furious' ... but they've squashed the beef.

For now at least ...
