'Grizzly Adams' Star Dan Haggerty Dies at 74

Famous '70s TV star Dan Haggerty -- who played Grizzly Adams -- died from cancer early Friday morning ... TMZ has learned.
Haggerty died after battling cancer for the last few months. Sources close to Dan's family tell us doctors discovered the cancer after he had surgery for back pain.
Haggerty starred in the 1977 hit TV show "The Life and Times of Grizzly Adams" as the lovable mountain man whose BFF was a grizzly bear. He also guest starred on several TV shows like "CHiPs" and "Charlie's Angels."
Haggerty was getting treatment in a hospital until recently when doctors told him the end was near and his son told close friends and family to come visit over the last few days before he passed.
Bunny Ranch owner and friend of Haggertys Dennis Hof tells TMZ, "Grizzly Adams was my friend for 20 years, the Bunnys loved him, he loved to drink with the Bunnys and told amazing jokes."
Dan was 74.

Celine Dion's husband's long battle with cancer ended Thursday morning ... he died at their home in Las Vegas.
Rene Angelil was diagnosed with throat cancer in 1998. His health got so bad last year that Celine took a leave of absence from her Las Vegas show to take care of him.
Sources close to Celine tell us Rene's death was completely unexpected because recently he's felt much better. In fact, we're told he and Celine had planned business meetings together for today.
We've learned Celine has already cancelled the 2 shows she was scheduled to do at Caesars Palace this weekend. She's set to return on Feb. 23rd.
Rene and Celine got married in 1994 and he managed her for years. They have 3 sons, a 14-year-old and 5-year-old twins. Rene also has 3 other children from a previous marriage.
People first reported Rene's death. He was 73.

Lawrence Phillips 911 'He Has Attempted Suicide'
TMZ Sports has obtained the Lawrence Phillips' 911 call -- in which a prison staffer tells the operator to send help because the ex-NFL star "has attempted suicide right now."
During the call, the staffer says he's in the dark about Lawrence's condition or how he tried to take his own life ... but says he was instructed by other Kern Valley State Prison staffers to call for an ambulance asap.
By the way, officials say the call came in to 911 at 12:14 AM -- 9 MINUTES after prison officials say they found Phillips unresponsive in his cell.
As we previously reported, Phillips' next of kin -- along with his biological mother and his lawyer -- do NOT believe Lawrence committed suicide ... and are demanding an investigation into the death.
Prison officials say Phillips was found unresponsive in his cell early Wednesday morning and was pronounced dead 90 minutes later after he was transported to a nearby hospital.

Rickman had been suffering from cancer and was surrounded by family, they said.

Disney star Michael Galeota, who died Sunday at 31, had a rough road to the end.
Galeota struggled with alcohol issues, racking up 3 DUIs from 2006 - 2015. The last DUI -- in September -- was an ongoing case. He served jail time on a few occasions for violating his probation in alcohol-related incidents.
The actor, who starred in "The Jersey" on the Disney Channel, had a history of hypertension and high cholesterol. He also battled diverticulitis, inflammation of the digestive track.
As we reported, he was hospitalized last week for abdominal pain and left against doctor's advice.

Michael Galeota, star of "The Jersey" on the Disney Channel, has died ... TMZ has learned.
We're told the actor went to the hospital last week after complaining of abdominal pains and left last Wednesday ... against the doctor's advice.
Michael went radio silent over the weekend, and one of his friends went to his Glendale home Sunday to check on him. Michael didn't answer, so the friend climbed through a window and found his body lying in the living room.
We're told Michael had a history of hypertension and high cholesterol. He also battled diverticulitis -- inflammation of the digestive tract.
Our sources say he was not following medical advice. So far it's being treated as a death from "natural causes." An autopsy is pending.
Michael was 31.

David Bowie Rock Legend Dead at 69
Groundbreaking rock star David Bowie died Sunday from cancer at the age of 69.
Bowie was surrounded by his family when he died ... according to the announcement posted on his Facebook page. He'd been diagnosed with cancer 18 months ago.
He was a huge innovator in glam rock, art rock, dance, punk and electronica. Bowie made a splash in the 70s with his famous Ziggy Stardust alter ego and went on to crank out hits like ... "Space Oddity (Major Tom)," and "Ziggy Stardust," "All the Young Dudes," "Let's Dance" and "Modern Love."
In 1981 he teamed up with Queen for the classic, "Under Pressure."
Bowie was also successful as an actor and music producer -- and got inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1996. He'd been married to supermodel Iman since 1992.
He just released his 25th album, "Blackstar" ... on January 8th, which was also his birthday.

Lemmy Motorhead Frontman's Memorial Service
Hundreds gathered for Motorhead frontman Lemmy's memorial service Saturday at Forest Lawn in Hollywood.
A livestream with almost 250k viewers broadcast the event for the rock star's fans around the world. His son, friends, Triple H, band mate Mikkey Dee and producer Bob Kulick spoke about some of their favorite memories with Lemmy.
A custom made urn replicating his signature hat was even there made by Foreverence.
He passed away last month after battling a very aggressive form of cancer.
