Kanye West mocked Ray J during his album release concert Thursday -- about both of them having sex with Kim Kardashian -- but we've learned Kanye called Ray ahead of time to squash any beef.

In one of the tracks, Kanye rapped, "Me and Ray J would probably be friends if we wasn't in love with the same bitch ... you might have hit it first, but I'm rich, though."

The kinder, gentler Kanye must have realized Ray could have taken it badly and launched an attack, so Kim's hubby launched his preemptive strike.

We're told Kanye ran into Brandy and they talked face-to-face, he asked her to tell her brother he meant no harm or disrespect by the lyrics ... he said is was pure fun and he was not talking trash about Ray J's bank account.

In addition, Kanye's rep contacted Ray J's manager, David Weintraub, to reaffirm the message.

As for how Ray J received it, we're told he's cool with both Kanye and Kim and appreciates Kanye reaching out.

Our Ray J sources say he also wants to make something very clear ... he's also very rich and currently has 4 TV shows on the air.

The porn star who sued Josh Duggar for allegedly roughing her up during a sexual encounter wants to drop the case ... but Josh is not willing to let it go that easily.

Danica Dillon wants to dismiss her lawsuit, but there's a catch. She wants the option to refile at some point in the future ... this according to new legal docs.

Here's her problem. Under the law she lost her right to simply drop the case with an option to refile. Dillon says in the docs her lawyers approached Josh's attorneys to see if they'd be agreeable to the dismissal, but they balked.

Josh's lawyers say they'll only agree if Dillon drops her case forever and retracts her allegations on her social media accounts. He also wants her to foot his legal bills.

She's refusing Josh's offer, and adds in the docs he might think twice before digging his heels in, because of his admission he's been treated for sex addiction.

As TMZ first reported, Duggar claims he never had sex with Dillon and has an alibi to prove it.

Bill Cosby should be prosecuted not just for allegedly sexually assaulting Andrea Constand, but to get justice for many other women with similar claims who were thwarted by the comedian's celebrity ... so say prosecutors who are fighting to keep the current criminal prosecution alive.

Pennsylvania prosecutors have just filed legal docs objecting to Cosby's move to have the case dismissed, on grounds he cut a deal with the former prosecutor who promised the case would never be filed.

D.A. Kevin Steele says in the new legal docs Cosby may have been "committing similar crimes for decades and getting away with it, all over the country, using his celebrity and fortune to avoid the consequences."

The D.A. scoffs at Cosby's argument that he only agreed to sit for a deposition -- where he ended up confessing he used Quaaludes as a seduction tool -- in return for the D.A.'s promise never to prosecute him. Steele says the D.A. had no legal authority to give Cosby immunity from prosecution, claiming only a judge had that right.

It's a good day for Bill Cosby ... not only did the L.A. County D.A. reject 2 sexual assault cases, he just got a court to put the brakes on Janice Dickinson's lawsuit she filed against him.

A California appeals court just ruled ... Janice has no right to force Cosby into a deposition in her defamation lawsuit against him ... at least not right now. Dickinson alleges Cosby smeared her name by saying she's lying about alleged sexual misdeeds he committed against her.

Dickinson has been trying to force Cosby to take the oath and talk about the alleged incident, where she says he drugged and raped her in 1982 at Lake Tahoe.

The court just ruled Janice has no right to go forward with her case -- including the depo -- until Cosby has a chance to argue the whole thing should be thrown out.

Bill Cosby will not face criminal charges in 2 alleged sexual assault cases ... one from 2008 at the Playboy Mansion, and the other against a then 17-year-old in 1965.

The L.A. County District Attorney rejected both alleged cases -- the '65 incident because the statute of limitations had run out. The 2008 case was rejected because the statute of limitations ran and there was insufficient evidence.

Chloe Goins claimed she woke up in a bedroom at the Playboy Mansion only to find her breasts were moist and Cosby was at the foot of her bed biting her toe and masturbating. Our sources say the D.A. concluded this type of allegation -- sucking someone's toes -- did not fall into a category that would extend the statute of limitations.

And there was another problem with the Goins case. She claimed the incident occurred at a Playboy Mansion summer party and Cosby had an alibi that he was out of town, plus he was not on the guest lists for any events at the Mansion that summer.

As for the other case, we're told the D.A. had problems because the alleged victim changed her story ... initially saying the incident occurred when she was 18 and later saying she was 17. That incident allegedly occurred in 1965.
