Oprah Winfrey swears she stopped Whitney Houston's life from being ruined when she prevented photos of Whitney falling off her stage while high on drugs from leaking to the media ... but, the opposite may be true.

Oprah revealed the cover up while at France's Lumière Theatre to receive Cannes' LionHeart Award ... saying the last time Whitney was on her show, she had just relapsed ... and she was so high, she fell off the stage.

Oprah says she begged her audience not to tell anyone "because it would ruin her life."

Savannah Guthrie got emotional on "TODAY" as she once again begged for someone with information about the whereabouts of her mother, Nancy, to come forward.

Will Arnett isn't takin' any crap from Jason Bateman ... especially when it comes to being asked if he poops in front of his ex-wife, Amy Poehler.

Will and Jason sat down Monday for an episode of the actors' podcast, "Smartless," which they cohost with Sean Hayes, and things got a little tense when the convo turned to Will's bathroom habits during his marriage to Amy.

Garcelle Beauvais is mourning a heartbreaking loss ... the 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' star says her sister, Carole Beauvais, is dead.

Garcelle shared the sad news Tuesday on social media, sharing fond memories of her sister and photos of them together.

The cause of death is unclear.

In her emotional message, Garcelle says she'll never forget the times they laughed until it hurt ... adding that whenever she told Carole "I love you," her sister would always respond, "I love you more."

CAA co-founder Michael Ovitz ran for the hills when asked about Jeffrey Epstein during his recent deposition ... after his talent and sports agency was sued for allegedly playing a key role in an alleged Harvey Weinstein assault.

Here's the deal ... actress Julia Ormond sued CAA, Weinstein, Miramax and Disney under the Adult Survivors Act in New York in 2023 ... claiming CAA knew of Weinstein’s repeated sexual misconduct and sent her on a dinner meeting with him anyway. She said this led to him sexually assaulting her in December 1995.

Ormond's legal team finally scored a court order requiring Ovitz to show face for a deposition, but he flat-out declined to comply once the questions moved from Weinstein to his association with Epstein.

Comedian Carlos Mencia just appeared in court for his felony tax case ... and he entered a not guilty plea to all 12 charges against him.

Prosecutors say Carlos -- born Ned Arnel Holness -- failed to report $8.7 million in income and owes more than $300K in unpaid state taxes ... and he faces more than a decade behind bars if convicted on all 12 counts.

Carlos did get some good news during Monday's hearing ... authorities tell TMZ his bail amount was reduced from $250,000 to $50,000 -- welcome news, no doubt, because the comic has been cooling his heels in an L.A. jail cell since last week's arrest.

Kevin Hart believes his ex-assistant Miesha Shakes should cough up a 5-figure sum for violating a confidentiality agreement where he says she agreed not to spill about him … TMZ has learned.

According to court docs, obtained by TMZ, Kevin is asking a judge to order Miesha to pay $50K in agreed-upon damages for breaching a non-disclosure agreement she signed.

Kevin sued Miesha, who worked for the entertainer from 2017 to 2020, after she did an interview with blogger Tasha K’s  … where he says she spilled info about his personal life.
