Roy Jones Jr. says Oscar De La Hoya is kinda right ... the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight could seriously damage boxing -- if Conor wins.

Long story short, Roy says the only way Conor wins this fight is if he gets "lucky" -- otherwise, Mayweather should beat that ass.

But Roy says he fully supports the bout -- because it's entertaining and that's what the people want.

You knew it was coming ... here's Dana White lashing back at Demetrious Johnson -- essentially calling BS on all the claims DJ made in his scathing statement about the UFC.

Earlier this month, Mighty Mouse blasted Dana -- saying the UFC has bullied, mistreated and mis-marketed him over the years ... and he feels completely disrespected.

Enter White -- who we saw in Bev Hills -- who responded to DJ point by point.

Dana on UFC contract and Pay-Per-View deals:

"He didn't want Pay-Per-View. He wanted upfront money, no Pay-Per-View. He wasn't very confident in his abilities to sell Pay-Per-Views. He has the lowest-selling Pay-Per-View in the history of the UFC in the modern era."

Dana on DJ's fighting future:

"I think a fight between him and T.J. Dillashaw would be something that people would actually be interested in and could sell Pay-Per-Views and could make money. But he absolutely refuses to fight the guy. It's ridiculous."

Dana on marketing DJ:

"We're not marketing him right? We built a TV show around him. 'The Ultimate Fighter' was about what an incredible fighter he is. We put him on Fox many times and tried to build him and it is what it is. It's not me."

Dana on where DJ ranks as a fighter:

"The media claims he's the pound for pound best fighter in the world. I think Conor McGregor is the pound for pound best fighter in the world."

Another big star calling "fake news" on a major newspaper -- with Dana White saying reports he's not involved in the Mayweather vs. McGregor talks are complete BS.

The UFC honcho was at Mastro's in Bev Hills on Thursday when we asked about a Los Angeles Times article that says it's the UFC's ownership group (WME-IMG) and NOT White currently involved in negotiations.

"We live in a world right now where you can't believe anything that you read," White said in a shot at the L.A. Times ... "Who else would be running the Mayweather, McGregor deal than me?"

When we asked if WME was running point, White told us, "What does WME know about making big fights?"

"Trust me, I'm running the Mayweather, McGregor deal."

Daniel Cormier says the "Happiest Place on Earth" could be hell for Jon Jones -- telling TMZ Sports if JJ crashes his Disneyland date, he'll fight him right on the damn Matterhorn.

DC says he's already got his victory celebration planned after he beats Jones at UFC 214 in July -- and it's a family fun day at the Magic Kingdom.

And if Jones tries to spoil the fun, Cormier says he'll go all Jack Sparrow on his ass.

Luke Rockhold says he wants to settle things with Michael Bisping once and for all -- telling TMZ Sports he's 100% down for a 3rd fight with the UFC star ... when Bisping's healthy enough to go.

Rockhold hasn't fought since June 2016 -- when he lost to Bisping in their rematch, evening their rivalry at 1-1.

So, when we spotted Rockhold out in Bev Hills on Wednesday we asked WHEN he's getting back in the Octagon and who he wants to fight next.

What's interesting ... Luke says he's down to fight at UFC 213 in July if anything happens to Yoel Romero or Robert Whittaker.

Ronda Rousey has already mastered the "Battle of the Network Stars" obstacle course -- but her friends ... well, they BOTH ended up in the water pit during a test run on the L.A. set.

TMZ Sports has footage of the UFC legend coaching her mom and sister as they tried to navigate everything from the rope swing to the monkey bars.

Ronda easily conquered the obstacles at Pepperdine University -- her fam had a much tougher go. Fortunately, Ronda was there to pull 'em BOTH out of the water.

Ronda is a permanent "team captain" on the show -- and every week, she'll lead a squad against DeMarcus Ware's team.

No word on how the contestants will be. Hopefully, they're practicing their rope swings.

"I couldn't hit him. Oscar [De La Hoya] couldn't hit him. Canelo [Alvarez] couldn't hit him. Conor's not going to hit him."

Boxing legend Ricky Hatton says he absolutely LOVES Conor McGregor -- but knows in his heart the guy has no shot against Floyd Mayweather.

Ricky famously fought Mayweather back in 2007 -- they were both undefeated at the time -- but Hatton got rocked and lost in the 10th round.

Hatton says he knows from experience how hard it is to land a shot against Floyd -- and says he thinks there's a real possibility Conor won't land a single punch if they actually fight.

"What I think happens in the fight ... it could be a bit embarrassing. And I would not like to see that happen to Conor 'cause I love him to bits."

"If the truth be known, I'd like Conor to splatter him. But I don't ... my heart says it but my mind says 'no,' he probably wouldn't."

That's what Dominick Cruz says he's hoping for -- telling TMZ Sports he's ready for his shot at redemption after they clashed in one of the best UFC fights of 2016.

The original fight was insane -- a 5-round war -- and Cody emerged victorious, becoming the UFC bantamweight champ.

He was supposed to defend his title against T.J. Dillashaw -- but pulled out due to a back injury.

Cruz says he feels Garbrandt's pain -- but says he wants him healthy ASAP so they can continue the saga.

The UFC honcho is furious with the boxing legend after Oscar publicly trashed the Mayweather vs. McGregor negotiations ... calling it a "joke of a fight" that could kill the sport of boxing.

Earlier Wednesday, White posted a video on Instagram showing Oscar praising a UFC vs. Boxing fight four months ago ... and then trashing it now.

White says Oscar is coming off as an insecure hypocritical weirdo for changing his position so drastically -- and says it makes it sound like Oscar has no confidence in the boxing match he's promoting, Canelo Alvarez vs. Gennady Golovkin.

UFC superstar Max Holloway says Conor McGregor is yesterday's news in the UFC ... and he's the man of the hour.

Holloway -- the UFC lightweight interim champ who's fighting at UFC 212 -- joined the guys on the "TMZ Sports" TV show (airs weekdays on FS1) and was asked how he felt about The Notorious.

"Conor was the 2015 champion. We're in the year 2017," Holloway says ... "It's about defending your whatever."

Conor defeated Holloway back in 2013 and eventually won the featherweight title in 2015 ... only to leave the division and take the lightweight title from Eddie Alvarez in 2016.

A lot of people SAY they wanna be like Conor McGregor -- not everyone can put their money where their mouths are.

Joanna Jedrzejczyk is pretty damn close.

The UFC fighter is one of the most dominant athletes (male or female) in all of MMA at the moment ... and says she wants to follow Conor and Ronda Rousey in becoming the sport's next icon.

As we previously reported, Joanna is already working with The Rock's agent -- who also happens to represent Ronda.

Funny moment with Irish superstar Colin Farrell ... who apparently hasn't done his Irish duty of checking in on Conor McGregor's baby yet.

Farrell jokes that he "should" check up on Ireland's most famous baby -- and then cracks on our photog for not keeping up with Irish politics.

The best part's when Colin tries to zing our Australian camera guy, Charlie, for being an uneducated American.

Jason Momoa gave one hell of a sendoff to his UFC pal Mark Hunt by performing a haka dance ... shirts off, tongues out and all.

We're told Mark and Jason struck up a friendship over the last 6 weeks while they were both in Australia -- Mark training for his fight against Derrick Lewis, and Jason filming for "Aquaman." They've been working out at the same gym called Heartbreak.

As a good luck gesture for Mark's fight next month in New Zealand, Jason -- as well as cast and crew and some of Hunt's training partners -- performed that country's traditional war dance ... the haka. Jason and Mark are both of Samoan descent ... from where the dance originates.

Jason will be attending Mark's fight.

Anyway, from the looks of these vids ... Mark wasn't expecting the whole shebang. Surprised much?

Daniel Cormier upheld a long running wedding tradition by tossing his wife's garter at their wedding reception ... and his pal Luke Rockhold walked away the winner.

Daniel got slow and sexy while he removed the garter of his bride, Salina, during Saturday's party.

It hit the floor, but an anxious Luke scooped it up and waived the prize.

As we reported ... Dana White wasn't invited to the wedding, but we're told there's no beef between the 2. Here's hoping his boss still sent a gift.

Bold move from Daniel Cormier ... who didn't invite his boss, Dana White, to his wedding this weekend -- but still wants a big, fat gift!

DC actually has a pretty solid reason for not inviting White ... and says they're definitely still on good terms.

The best part of the clip ... Cormier says he personally asked White for a very specific wedding present and the UFC prez told him straight-up, "You're crazy!"

Cormier is marrying his longtime girlfriend, Salina -- and says he's more excited about the wedding than he is about the Jon Jones fight!

UFC middleweight champ Michael Bisping says Gegard Mousasi ain't nothing but a Twitter tough guy -- because when they got face-to-face, Gegard backed down like a biiiiaaaatch.

We spoke with "The Count" about his injured knee, his fight with GSP and everyone who's been calling him out ... but he got the most heated about Mousasi, the #4 ranked middleweight in the world.

Gegard had been talking a lot of trash about Bisping on social media -- but shelved all the tough talk when he did an interview with Bisping on "UFC Tonight."

"He didn't say a f**king word to my face," Bisping said ... "He did not say a word."
