Robert Redford has died ... and celebrities are reacting to the sudden loss of the legendary actor and director.
The tributes poured in Tuesday morning, with Hillary Clinton saying she "always admired" the "true American icon." She applauded him for the causes he supported, writing ... "He championed progressive values like protecting the environment and access to the arts while creating opportunities for new generations of activists and filmmakers."
Meryl Streep said in a statement to TMZ ... “One of the lions has passed. Rest in peace my lovely friend.”
Jane Fonda said in a statement to Deadline, “It hit me hard this morning when I read that Bob was gone. I can’t stop crying. He meant a lot to me and was a beautiful person in every way. He stood for an America we have to keep fighting for.”

American actor Sasha Jenson was in his late 20s when he played Don Dawson -- the high school senior and football player always lookin' for a good time -- in the classic 1993 throwback film "Dazed and Confused."
Jenson shared the screen with Hollywood legends like Matthew McConaughey as David Wooderson, the suave Texas teen always ready to party and known for his catchphrase "All right, all right, all right."
Other notable players included Jason London who played Randall "Pink" Floyd, the footballer who floats between the stoners, geeks and jocks, and Ben Affleck as the high school bully, Fred O'Bannion.

Clea shared the big screen with Natasha Lyonne as Megan, the popular cheerleader who is a lesbian, also sent to the conversion camp, RuPaul as Mike, the formerly gay man who teaches manly "things" at the conversion camp, and Cathy Moriarty as the strict camp-director, Cathy.
