Spencer Pratt says Daveigh Chase is dead because "nobody was willing to drag her to rehab against her will."

The former 'Hills' star weighed in on the "Lilo & Stich" star's death in a social media post Tuesday ... one day after the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner ruled she died from AIDS and drug use.

Spencer was outspoken about drug abuse and rehab when he was running for L.A. mayor ... and his post is also in reaction to images purportedly showing Daveigh looking frail while living on Skid Row.

Denise Richards is asking a judge to make sure her estranged husband, Aaron Phypers, promises not to leak her financial records before she's forced to turn them over in their nasty court battle ... TMZ has learned.

The "Wild Things" star filed new legal docs, obtained by TMZ, claiming Aaron has spread all sorts of private information about her to the media in the wake of their split.

Denise says Aaron wants her to turn over bank statements and information about her pay for "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" ... but she insists much of that information is subject to confidentiality agreements with production companies, and she wants to make sure a protective order is in place before she sends them over.

LeBron James is speaking out after leaving the Los Angeles Lakers ... thanking the organization for adding him to the family eight years ago.

An 8-year-old boy riding a jet ski with no parents in sight got stopped by cops in Florida ... police had harsh words for the father, who said his kid is "very proficient" ... and now folks are debating his parenting.

Police bodycam footage out of Sarasota shows the moment a marine police officer stops a kid on a jet ski ... asking him straight up, "Where's your parents?"

The boy proceeds to lead the officer to his father, and cops start questioning him.

The father is quick to admit he doesn't think his son is legally allowed to ride a jet ski alone at such a young age ... but he says he and his son have been riding jet skis for years and the kid is "very proficient."

Keanu Reeves went to bat for his old director ... but it wasn't enough to keep Carl Rinsch out of prison after the filmmaker was sentenced in his $11 million Netflix fraud case.

Here's the deal ... Keanu personally wrote to the judge asking for leniency for Carl -- who directed Keanu in the 2013 movie "47 Ronin" -- calling Carl an "exceptional artist" while acknowledging Carl has a tendency to self-sabotage. Keanu also praised Carl's unfinished Netflix series at the center of the case as "superb and visionary."

The heartfelt endorsement didn't carry the day, though ... a federal judge sentenced Carl to 30 months behind bars Monday after he was convicted of wire fraud, money laundering and other financial crimes tied to the failed project.
