Elliot Mintz No Longer on Paris Patrol
Just two days after a judge sentenced her to 45 days in jail for violating her probation, Paris Hilton's longtime publicist Elliot Mintz has announced he is no longer representing the heiress. In court Friday, Paris claimed that it was Elliot who had mistakenly assured her she was able to drive, even though she had a suspended license. The judge, however, didn't buy her claim, and sent her to the slammer.
TMZ contacted Mintz Sunday evening, who issued the following statement:
The day after the hearing, I sent an e-mail expressing my sadness over the ruling of the judge and the irrational sentence he imposed. In that e-mail I also offered my sincerest apology for any misunderstanding she received from me regarding the terms of her probation. To the extent that I have miscommunicated information I received from her attorneys......I am deeply and profoundly sorry. I told her that I assume personal responsibility for my part in this matter. I believe when stated in court that she believed it was o.k. for her to drive under certain circumstances she was being absolutely truthful. Due to this misunderstanding, I am no longer representing Paris. For the record, I have nothing but love and respect for Paris and her family. Paris is a wonderful person and does not deserve the punishment that was handed down by the court. I only wish her my best.

Wedding Crashed: Esposito and Cooper Split
TMZ has learned that actress Jennifer Esposito has filed for divorce from her husband of four months, Bradley Cooper. The documents, filed Tuesday in Los Angeles County Superior Court, cite irreconcilable differences as the reason for the split.
The two dated a little over a year before getting engaged in October of 2006, and tied the knot December 21.
Esposito is best known for her roles on TV's "Spin City" and in the film "Crash." Cooper starred in the mega-hit "Wedding Crashers" and "Alias."
A rep for Esposito had no comment other than "Jennifer asks that you respect her privacy at this time." Cooper's rep calls the split mutual and says "actually they've been separated for quite a while."
Alec Responds: 'I've Been Driven to the Edge'
Alec Baldwin swung back at wife Kim Basinger, slamming "certain people" who he says, "will go to any lengths to embarass [sic] me and to disrupt my relationship with my daughter."
In a statement on his website alecbaldwin.com, Baldwin apologizes for "losing my temper" but is "equally sorry that a court order was violated," and maintains that despite his now-public tirade he has friends and "respect from people I work with," and what he claims to be "a normal relationship" with daughter Ireland. Here's the statement in full:
Thank you to everyone who has posted messages of suppport and understanding. Naturally, it is not best for a parent to lose their temper with their child. Everyone who knows me privately knows that I have endured a great deal over the last several years in my custody litigation. Everyone who knows me privately knows that certain people will go to any lengths to embarass me and to disrupt my relationship with my daughter.
In such public cases, your opponents attempt to take a picture of you on your worst day and insist that this is who you are as a person. Outside the doors of divorce court, I have friends, I have respect from people I work with and I have a normal relationship with my daughter. All of that is threatened whenever one enters a court room.
Although I have been told by numerous people not to worry too much, as all parents lose their patience with their kids, I am most saddened that this was released to the media because of what it does to a child. I'm sorry, as everyone who knows me is aware, for losing my temper with my child. I have been driven to the edge by parental alienation for many years now. You have to go through this to understand. (Although I hope you never do.) I am sorry for what happened. But I am equally sorry that a court order was violated, which had deliberately been put under seal in this case.
Once my book is published, I'm sure more people will understand the incredible strains created by parental alienation.
In the meantime, I'm sorry to anyone who's taken offense from this episode.

Whitney and Bobby's Divorce Finalized
It's pretty much all over -- including the crying -- for Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown's marriage.
An Orange County judge granted Houston a divorce yesterday, and sole custody of their 14-year-old daughter, Bobbi Kristina. In the ten-minute hearing, Judge Franz Miller ruled that the divorce would become final on April 24.
In court, Houston testified, as the AP reports, that Brown was an unreliable father. "If he says he's going to come, sometimes he does. Usually he doesn't," she told the judge.
Houston wept as the decision was announced, and did not talk to reporters afterwards. Brown didn't show up for the hearing. The couple has been married since 1992, and Houston filed for a legal separation last September. Brown's attorney says he will seek to overturn the judge's ruling.

Heather Mills On-Air Breakdown -- I'm No Gold Digger!
Heather Mills turned on the waterworks this morning on Ryan Seacrest's KIIS FM morning radio show, after a former Heather-hater said that everyone should apologize for every bad thing they've ever said about Heather ... ever.
Fighting back tears, the touched "Dancing with the Stars" flipper admitted, "I could have gone down that path of lowering myself to everyone else's level ... and proven my innocence," obviously referring to the intense media scrutiny she's been receiving over her nasty split with Sir Paul McCartney. "All I did was fall in love with somebody -- madly -- and give up my life for seven years, you know.... and then to be vilified for it? I'm actually quite shocked."
Mills added, "If I was a gold digger, I would be a very wealthy woman now ... and I'm not." Well, not yet anyway.

Britney and K-Fed Settle Up
TMZ has learned Britney Spears and Kevin Federline have reached a settlement in their divorce.
Sources say that under the terms, K-Fed will walk away with around $1 million (In case you're wondering, Spears' lawyer, Laura Wasser, drafted and airtight pre-nup). As for their two kids, we're told Britney and Kevin will have joint custody, sharing physical custody 50/50. The divorce will be final, with a judge's signature, very soon.
Britney and K-Fed settled their score after meeting face to face with their lawyers for hours Thursday afternoon.
In the past, when Wasser settled a high-profile divorce, the parties filed a "skeletal judgment," which meant the specific terms were omitted from the public documents.

Eminem to Ex-Wife -- Shut the F**k Up!
Eminem is going to court to make his ex-wife shut her trap.
The rapper has filed a motion attempting to prevent Kim Mathers, whom he's married -- and divorced -- twice, from making "derogatory, disparaging, inflammatory, and otherwise negative comments" about him in interviews. He claims that his wife's trash-talking is harming their 11-year-old daughter Hallie, and he will appear in court to discuss the motion on Monday, reports the Detroit News.
Kim Mathers has given a slew of interviews to TV and radio outlets in the last two months, and has slammed her ex-husband in all of them. She's said, amongst other things, that she vomits in her mouth whenever she hears his name, that Slim Shady's not terribly well endowed, that he's a bad father, and that he drove her to attempt suicide.
In the motion to suppress Kim's speech, Eminem says that she must be muzzled to "protect the child from further harm," and to prevent "any further behavior likely to expose the minor child to humiliation and hostility." Lawyers for both sides did not comment.

Lance, Reichen and Davis: He Said, He Said, He Said
Since the breakup between Lance and Reichen over the alleged affair Reichen had with MTV "Real World's" Davis Mallory, Bass and Lehmkuhl have kept mum. But now Reichen has spoken out on his MySpace blog, without naming Davis, but referring to his "Latest MEDIA STALKER from Atlanta."
He states that his interaction with "this particlar person" was "brief and of bad judgement," and that Reichen "was warned to stay away from him." Now Reichen wants "him" to stay away.
Back in January, when the reality TV personalities allegedly hooked up, Reichen claims that the unnamed Davis promised him that he would let him talk to Lance before their affair leaked in the media, but news got to Lance before Reichen had a chance. Bass then supposedly dumped Reichen over the transgression. Lehmkuhl sends a final message to the "mystery" man, "Dude, just leave us the hell alone... Stop trying to approach us at parties. LEAVE US ALONE." Meow!
According to E!'s Marc Malkin, this past Thursday, Lance and Davis had an encounter of their own. Sources claim the two ran into each other at the Logo Time Warner Cable Party in Los Angeles and had a little chat. Later that night, TMZ spies spotted Lance with a group of his boybuds at Tiger Heat nightclub in L.A., an 18-and-over club. Lance is so over Reichen, he's now on twink patrol!
A rep for MTV's "Real World" said, "We are not commenting on this."

A judgment was entered in the divorce of the former couple in Los Angeles County Superior Court today. They announced their split in July of last year. Carmen and Dave amicably split their assets evenly -- per their prenuptial agreement -- and both waived their right to spousal support. Highly civilized.
They were married on November 22, 2003 and have no children.
