Paulina Rubio Arrested After Minor Car Accident
Paulina Rubio was arrested by police in Florida on Saturday afternoon after she got into it with cops following a small car accident -- but she was not taken into custody ... TMZ has learned.
Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Rubio was involved in an accident just blocks away from the ocean in Miami.
According to law enforcement, the accident was relatively minor -- and Rubio was not at fault -- but she got into some kind of argument with officers on scene and was subsequently arrested.
We're told she was busted for disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and refusal to obey a lawful command -- but the charges were small enough that Rubio was not taken into custody. Instead, she was issued a summons to appear at a later date.
Calls to Rubio's rep were not immediately returned.

Tara Lipinski Skates in Fender Bender Lawsuit
Tara Lipinski just scored a perfect 10 in her legal battle against a dude who claims the former Olympic gold-medalist wrecked his car and caused him "serious injuries" -- in fact, girl got off the hook scot-free.
The guy in question -- named Bryan Fuller -- sued Lipinski for $7,500 in July, claiming she backed into him with her SUV while he was exiting an L.A. parking lot last year ... and as a result, he suffered "serious injuries to his neck, back, left shoulder, left arm" ... and the list goes on.
Dude claimed his medical bills totaled $2,279 after the incident -- not to mention "at least" $1,223.02 in damages to his vehicle -- but clearly the judge wasn't buying his case ... because when the gavel came down earlier this week, Mr. Fuller was awarded jack squat.
Lipinski has a history of sliding by.

Jesse James Drags TMZ Boss Through the Mud
Jesse James had a total breakdown during an off-road race in Primm, Nevada this weekend -- and sources who know nothing about cars have determined the whole thing is Harvey Levin's fault.
As we previously reported, James threw a HL decal on the side of his badass custom-built racer ... despite multiple warnings that Harvey has a terrible history with cars.
So when the truck was set to make its official debut -- everything went to hell ... meaning the car broke down mid-race and never crossed the finish line.
He may be the size of a leprechaun ... but he's clearly no lucky charm.

Phelps After Crash 99 Bottle of Beer on the Wall
Michael Phelps may not have been at fault for his car accident this week, but he wasn't exactly squeaky clean, either.
Phelps will be cited for driving with an expired license, which was from Michigan, the NY Post is reporting. Phelps will have to appear before a judge, though no date has been set so far.
Phelps also admitted to police he had a beer about an hour before the crash. He was not given a Breathalyzer test on scene.

Lohan Accused of Being Smashed During Smash-Up
Lindsay Lohan is being sued by a man who claims she was drunk when she crashed her Mercedes into his van after leaving the famous Ivy restaurant in West Hollywood in 2005. He is suing both Lohan and The Ivy.
In a lawsuit filed Thursday in Los Angeles County Superior Court and obtained by TMZ, Raymundo Ortega claims Lohan, who was 19 at the time, was dining at The Ivy ... "where she consumed alcohol and became intoxicated" minutes before the wreck. The suit alleges that "The Ivy's conduct of serving alcoholic beverages to Lohan was a factor in causing the injuries to Ortega."
Ortega claims that on the day of the accident, Lohan was "driving recklessly" at 60 MPH to avoid having her picture taken by paparazzi and "looking over her shoulder instead of watching the road." As a result, Ortega is suing both The Ivy and Lohan for damages in excess of $200,000.
In the suit, Ortega accuses Lohan of having a history of "racing and speeding with Mercedes Benz high performance car and as a result received several speeding tickets and has been in several accidents."
Reps for Lohan were not immediately available for comment.

Eddie Gets 'Crashie' From Jimmy K.
Eddie Griffin collected a trophy for his high profile Ferrari crash -- but it's not necessarily an honor.
On last night's "Jimmy Kimmel Live," Jimmy gave the questionable road menace a Crashie Award for "Best Celebrity Driver" for his totaling of an Enzo at a charity event this past Monday. Kimmel explained that past winners included the car-seat phobic Britney Spears, and Billy Joel, who once crashed into a house.
Ever appreciative, Griffin thanked "the producer (whose Ferrari was the one he totaled), the director and the manufacturer, 'cuz I'm still here."
So what's next for Griffin now that he's won the coveted golden award? "I'm going to Disneyland!"
Was Griffin's Crash a Hoax?
Eddie Griffin's ultra-expensive crash in a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo has been all over television and the Internet today, but could the pricey wipeout really be a brilliant marketing ploy?
In the video obtained by CBS2 News in Los Angeles, it shows the car slamming into a concrete barricade. But, to quote Dr. Henry Lee from the O.J. Simpson case, "Something wrong."
Roll the video and take a close look at the guy standing next to the concrete barrier. He doesn't even flinch as the car comes near. Also, it's pretty interesting that after the crash, Griffin joked it up, saying, "Undercover Brother's good at karate and all the rest of that, but the brother can't drive."
This isn't the first time that one of Daniel Sadek's high-priced cars have been wrecked. During production of his movie, "Redline," two of the producer/real estate investor's expensive Porsche Carrera GTs were totaled during filming. One of the collisions was designed as a stunt. The other was an accident.
UPDATE: Eddie Griffin's publicist, Lori Jonas, told TMZ, "It was not a hoax. Eddie was racing for a charity to promote his upcoming film, "Redline." He got in an accident. He is suffering from neck and shoulder pain as a result of the accident. It was in no way a hoax."
"Undercover Brother" Crashes $1.5 Million Ferrari
Comedian Eddie Griffin saw his life (and his bank account) flash before his eyes Monday after he smashed a $1.5 million Ferrari Enzo into a concrete wall during a charity event at Irwindale Speedway, leaving the ultra-expensive sports car a smoking pile of twisted metal.
The high-speed collision, captured on tape by KCBS in Los Angeles took place during rehearsals for a charity event called "Race for a Cause." Griffin, who starred in "Undercover Brother" and "Norbit," left the crash scene in an ambulance, although he did not suffer any serious injuries and seemed to be in good spirits.
The luxury automobiles used in the charity event were part of a promotion for the film "Redline," a movie about the high-end world of high-performance sports cars.
Someone Else Will Die
A 17-year-old boy has already died in an SUV driven by a celebrity. Someone else is going to die, and it will happen sooner rather than later.
Nicole Richie's loved ones could easily have been planning her funeral today -- likewise the loved ones of the people driving the right way on the 134 Freeway early Monday morning.
Lane Garrison must be scratching his head today. Why, he must be asking, did he have such bad luck? The fact is, the differentiating factor that makes Garrison a killer and Richie a DUI'er is luck. That's it.
I'm not trying to preach, and I will readily admit that TMZ has prospered off the antics of a group of young celebrities. When Brandon Davis went on his "firecrotch" rant against Lindsay, it was endlessly entertaining. When Paris got in fender-benders, it was so TMZ. And when Britney spread her legs for all the world to see, well it was Internet gold.
But the line has been crossed. The dark side of Hollywood has been revealed in the last month. And really, it's no surprise. There are a lot of young celebs who got really rich and very famous way too soon. The people who surround them are not used to saying "no." These celebs have gotten away with a lot -- mostly small stuff -- for a long time. And each time you get away with something you shouldn't, you get bolder the next time.
These celebs, for the most part, have no compass to guide them. Look at Lindsay Lohan. Her dad used the revolving door at his local jail while her mom was at war with him when she wasn't out partying. Lohan really didn't stand a chance, and it's sad.
So who will save the day and save these kids from disaster? In this town, saviors are awfully hard to come by.
