Guess they weren't faking ... for a change.

UPDATE -- We're told the Red Cross, the charity Spencer was playing for on the show, now wants nothing to do with the program. It's unclear whether they would have received anything anyway -- but regardless, the Spencer experience left a bad taste in their mouth.

Dr. Drew Plucks Sizemore for Rehab Show

Published | Updated

Much like fruit picked straight off the tree, the best "Celebrity Rehab" patients are the ones straight from jail.

TMZ has learned Tom Sizemore, who was arrested early Thursday morning on an outstanding warrant, checked into Dr. Drew's house on Friday to begin taping the third season of the show.

Making the addition of Sizemore particularly interesting is that one of his fellow castmates is Heidi Fleiss -- Sizemore's ex-girlfriend whom he was convicted of assaulting back in 2003. Awk-ward!

We're told Fleiss didn't take too kindly to Sizemore appearing on the show, and she didn't come out of her room for sometime after he showed up.

Bad for Heidi, good for ratings.

Gokey Voters Sided With Kris Allen

Published | Updated

Sources at "American Idol" tell us the margin between Kris Allen and Adam Lambert "wasn't even close" -- and the biggest factor in Allen's win was Danny Gokey.

Here's what we know. The "lion's share" of Gokey's votes went to Kris Allen. The extent of the lopsidedness surprised a lot of the big wigs at "A.I." We were not told the exact votes but our sources say the AT&T scandal had no impact on the outcome -- the spread was that wide.

Mackenzie Phillips -- Student Becomes the Master

Published | Updated

"Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew" -- the show that exploits celebrities who are battling addiction -- is now exploiting a celebrity who has already battled addiction.

We've learned Mackenzie Phillips -- who entered rehab for the 10th time in September 2008 -- will appear on the third season of the show as a "sober coach." Phillips was busted for cocaine in August 2008, but had the majority of the charges against her dropped -- and the final charge will be dropped when she completes a drug diversion program. By all indications, Mackenzie has done a complete 180 and says the arrest saved her life.

The role of "sober coach" on the show was previously played by Gary Busey -- and we know how that turned out.

And we know the other new cast of characters. Let's just say Mackenzie has her work cut out for her.

TLC: Who Needs J.Lo? We Got Jon & Kate!

Published | Updated

Sources at TLC tell us the J.Lo reality show they wanted so badly a year ago is dead as a doornail, thanks in large part to the success of "Jon & Kate Plus 8."

It was just a year ago that TMZ broke the story that J.Lo and TLC were trying to come to terms on a reality show but J.Lo was adamant that she would not put her kids on TV -- she wanted to focus on ... yawn ... behind the scenes on creating a new J.Lo fragrance. TLC, we're told, wanted to show the kiddies.

Fast forward to Monday night -- Jon & Kate scored an astonishing 9.8 million viewers. TLC sources tell us it's pretty clear the J.Lo ain't gonna sell tickets anymore, so they have shelved the show. As one TLC source put it, "It was on life support for awhile, and now we've just lost interest."

The moral -- even big stars have their 15 minutes, so they should make the most of it while they can.

Porn Star Regrets Rubbing Dr. Drew Wrong Way

Published | Updated

Mary Carey swears her parody porn "Celebrity Rehab" wasn't meant to hurt Dr. Drew's feelings -- but she feels really, really bad if it did.

After Drew Twittered that "Mary's choice to mock ... makes me sad," Mary told TMZ she "loves Dr. Drew and wasn't trying to make fun of him or mock him."

But even after TMZ ran a clip where Mary said she liked "Dr. Screw more than Dr. Drew," the real addiction specialist reached out to Mary, sending her the following message on her Twitter page:

"Not mad just sad that you are getting sucked back in, please give [your AA sponsor] a call. I know it must be difficult."

No word if Mary plans to take his advice and get help now ... or wait for the next rehab show to come along.

Poker Pro Accused of Making an Awful Deal

Published | Updated

Bluffs work at the tables, not in real life -- a lesson one professional poker player could learn after allegedly screwing a company out of big bucks over the movie "Deal."

Gambling Times, Inc. claims in a lawsuit that poker player Scott Lazar (the movie's exec. producer) promised the company a "highly visible" product placement during the film -- which starred Burt Reynolds and Shannon Elizabeth -- in exchange for a $50,000 investment.

But according to the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, the plug was far from highly visible... because it didn't exist at all.

Now here's the ironic part: G.T. is suing Lazar for no less than $1,000,000 in damages -- but the film only made... get this... $78,000 WORLDWIDE when it hit theaters back in 2008.

Daisy de la Hoya 911 Call -- 'Possible Overdose'

Published | Updated

TMZ has learned VH1 reality star Daisy de la Hoya was rushed to the hospital early this morning after paramedics responded to a 911 call for a "possible overdose."

A source close to the situation says friends called 911 after they heard Daisy making strange noises in her friend's Hollywood Hills home.

When firefighters and medics came to the house, sources tell us Daisy was acting "crazy" -- yelling, screaming and thrashing around. It took multiple emergency personnel to get Daisy into the ambulance.

We're told Daisy is currently receiving treatment at a Los Angeles area hospital.

Hours before the incident, TMZ cameras caught Daisy looking really, really out of sorts on her way out of Les Deux nightclub in Hollywood.

UPDATE: We've learned that Daisy's appearances for this weekend, which were booked by her agent, Mike Esterman have been postponed at this time. They hope to re-schedule in the near future.

A rep for Daisy tells us, "Daisy was taken to the ER early this morning suffering from delirium as a result of exhaustion. There was no overdose. She is fine this evening and resting comfortably. No further details are being released at this time."

Beyonce has officially been cleared of all bad singing charges -- the atrocious supposed "board mix" of her performance on "The Today Show" last year was altered after all.

Just as Mathew Knowles told us, the audio clip that many people believed was leaked from "Today" was indeed a fake.

In fact, TMZ found the person behind the prank who was surprised it went as far as it did, saying, "It's a little bit crazy. No one in their right mind would sound like that, and no one would cheer for someone singing like that."

Beyonce's Daddy to Haters: You're All Idiots

Published | Updated

Beyonce's dad is on the warpath against the people attacking his daughter for the supposed "board mix" audio of B singing at "The Today Show" -- claiming all doubters of her ability are "idiots."

In a fiery statement to TMZ, Mathew Knowles, who's also Bey's manager, says his daughter was set up. It's one of the best statements we've ever gotten.

"If no one took the time to look at the biggest Inauguration in the history of America then shame on them.

If no one took the time to listen to Beyonce sing 'America the Beautiful' and 'At Last' at the Neighborhood Ball for the first dance of President Obama and the First Lady, and they question Beyonce's vocal ability, they've gotta be an idiot.

At 12 years into her career, the last thing someone should be questioning is her vocal ability.

That would be like questioning if Kobe Bryant could shoot a jump shot. The vocals were obviously altered."
