Jenelle Evans' mother, Barbara, seems like she's ready to fight tooth and nail to regain custody of her grandson, Jace ... despite a judge denying her request for emergency custody.

According to docs -- obtained by TMZ -- Barbara beelined it to court on Friday ... filing a motion seeking full custody of the 16-year-old, who is currently in a mental health treatment facility.

Sources with direct knowledge tell TMZ ... the motion was filed behind Jenelle's back ... and it was quickly denied.

A couple of iconic MTV reality TV shows appear to be the subject of a new documentary ... and timing is everything.

Production sources tell TMZ … Paramount+ and MTV are working on their own documentary centered on the "Teen Mom" and "16 & Pregnant" franchises.

Our sources say the network is in the early stages of developing a cast driven retrospective that would feature select former and current cast members, reflecting on their journeys and experiences over the years on '"Teen Mom" and '16&P.'

Jenelle Evans is preparing to visit her son, Jace, at the mental health facility where he's currently receiving treatment, but the trip hasn't happened just yet ... TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Jenelle has not visited Jace in person since he entered the facility. However, she's planning a trip to the Carolinas for spring break with all of her children and intends to see Jace while she's there.

We're told Jenelle, who lives in Las Vegas, has been staying in close contact with Jace. Meanwhile, her mom, Barbara Evans -- who Jace has been living with -- has been visiting him regularly at the facility.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... Barbara called law enforcement on 16-year-old Jace February 27. We’re told Barbara told Jenelle she also planned on filing paperwork in court for help handling Jace.  

As TMZ first reported, Jace was placed in an involuntary mental facility following an incident where Barbara’s grandson allegedly pulled a gun on her and threatened to kill her as well as himself.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Jenelle's mom Barbara Evans told the reality star Jace allegedly pulled out a firearm, put it to his head, and threatened to kill himself and Barbara.

We're told there were also concerns about possible substance use, with sources claiming Jace had been drinking and using drugs in the lead-up to the incident.

Jenelle Evans' son, Jace, recently checked into a mental health hospital following a 911 call about a disturbed teen at his grandmother's home ... TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Jace is now receiving treatment at a mental health facility after a troubling incident late last month. We're told there was a call to service at Barbara Evans' home in North Carolina on February 22 for what authorities described as a "troubled teen disturbance." According to a police report, seven cops responded to the house.

Law enforcement arrived at the residence, where Jace has been living with his grandmother. Details about what sparked the call remain unclear, but sources say the situation was serious enough to prompt further action in the days that followed.

"Teen Mom" star Cory Wharton might be the happiest man in the world after his daughter's successful heart surgery ... and he tells TMZ about the new perspective he's been given when we caught up with him Wednesday.

Cory's 3-year-old daughter Maya -- who he shares with Taylor Selfridge -- has only just gotten out of Children's Hospital Los Angeles after being there the last 2 weeks, but they left with some great news ... their baby girl is going to be OK!

Cory tells us, "We knew when my girlfriend was pregnant that she was going to require 2 open-heart surgeries, and we got through ... We finally got through."

Scary moment for Jenelle Evans and her family ... we've learned her mother, Barbara, was hospitalized after suffering a stroke.

Sources familiar with the situation tell TMZ ... Jenelle's mom suffered a stroke last week and has since been discharged from the hospital. We are told Barbara is recovering at home and expected to make a full recovery.

We're told Jenelle has flown back to North Carolina to see her mother and be with family... Jenelle's lived in Nevada for over a year now after moving West, and our sources say the reason she wasn't able to fly home earlier to be by Barbara's side is because Jenelle recently had sinus surgery.

Jenelle Evans is opening up about how she feels about 16-year-old son Jace moving out ... and she says it's a "full circle moment."

The "Teen Mom" star is responding to questions on social media, and she's getting asked a lot about Jace, who we first reported has moved out of Jenelle's Las Vegas home.

Jenelle says she's hoping Jace can change and learn to follow rules ... and in the meantime she's got two other kids at home to care for ... 11-year-old Kaiser from her ex Nathan Griffith and 8-year-old Ensley from another ex, David Eason.

Jenelle Evans is firing back after her teenage son Jace dropped text messages online -- accusing her of mistreatment and even dredging up past abuse allegations against her ex-husband, David Eason.

On Tuesday, Jace shared screenshots of private text messages between him and his mom on his Instagram. In one of the exchanges, Jenelle fired off, "Your the one saying you're going to have my custody taken. F*** YOU," after Jace told her he didn't need her in his life.

In another, she accused him of lying about David strangling him -- to which Jace replied, "I never lied ... he tried to ..."

Now, Jenelle is responding to the leaked texts and allegations and tells TMZ ... the texts were taken out of context and posted in retaliation after she disciplined her son.

She tells us … "My children are my whole world, and everything I do is to try and protect, guide and love them. Jace posting our private texts was his reaction to being rightfully disciplined and while it hurts to see those moments shared publicly, I know it comes from a place of struggle."

Jenelle says navigating Jace's medical diagnoses has been an ongoing battle, but insists she's always fought to get him the resources and support he needs.
