Jon Jones is officially in police custody -- finally ... with law enforcement telling TMZ Sports the UFC superstar has turned himself in after an alleged hit and run.

Jones allegedly ran from the scene of an accident in Albuquerque early Sunday morning -- in a crash that injured a pregnant woman so badly, she had to be hospitalized.

A warrant was issued for Jones' arrest for felony hit and run -- due to the severity of the victim's injuries.

But now, cops say ... Jones surrendered and is in custody at Bernalillo County Metropolitan Detention Center without incident. We're told bond has been set at $2,500.

3:30 PM PT -- New Mexico cops have filed a felony warrant for Jones' arrest for leaving the scene of the accident.

Officials in New Mexico say they are "currently working on an arrest warrant" for UFC superstar Jon Jones ... stemming from a hit and run crash Sunday morning.

We're told the victim -- a 20-year-old pregnant woman -- suffered a broken arm in the wreck ... and due to her injury, officials are "elevating" the potential charge against Jones to "felony leaving the scene of an accident."

As we previously reported, witnesses say they saw Jones run from the scene of the crime and jump a fence. Cops say they later found weed and a marijuana pipe in his car.

It's just a matter of time before the UFC pulls Jon Jones from UFC 187 ... at least, that's what UFC star Rashad Evans believes will happen in the wake of the hit and run investigation in New Mexico.

Jones is currently scheduled to fight Rashad's teammate Rumble Johnson in the main event during the May 23rd event in Las Vegas ... one of the biggest UFC events of the year.

But now that cops have labeled Jones a suspect in the felony investigation -- Evans tells TMZ Sports he believes Dana White is probably looking for a replacement.

Jon Jones made an interesting video just 3 weeks ago ... telling his fans his days of being reckless behind the wheel were LONG OVER ... and he's a much more "mature" driver now.

In the video, the UFC champ told his fans he was thinking about getting a brand new lightning fast Corvette ... the first fast car since he wrecked his Bentley in his 2012 DUI crash.

"I've matured a lot since the Bentley," Jones said at the time ... "May not seem like it .. but I have people, I promise."

Investigators found marijuana and a marijuana pipe inside the car that Jon Jones allegedly abandoned moments after a hit and run crash in New Mexico ... cops say.

TMZ Sports has obtained the police report ... in which cops say witnesses saw a man believed to be the UFC champ run from the crash scene moments after slamming into a car carrying a pregnant woman.

One witness says Jones got out of his silver Buick and ran into the hills -- before slouching over and darting back to the car to grab a "large handful of cash."

After that, witnesses say Jones jumped a nearby fence and ran off.

As for the initial crash, cops say Jones ran a red light ... and slammed into the pregnant woman's car. The woman told responders she felt like she was going to pass out. She was taken to a nearby hospital.

Cops tried multiple times to contact Jones -- but were unable to reach the UFC superstar.

An off-duty police officer says he witnessed a man he believed to be Jon Jones fleeing from a hit and run crash -- ON FOOT -- moments after the accident ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The Albuquerque Police Dept. tells us ... the suspect literally ran from the scene Sunday morning moments after the collision, which injured a 20-year-old pregnant woman.

We're told an off-duty police officer happened to be in the area ... and told investigators he watched a man flee the scene ... a man who he believed to be Jon Jones.

BTW -- Jones is 6'4" and 205 pounds.

Cops tell us they searched the suspect's vehicle -- a rental car -- and found documents with Jon's name on them.

We've reached out to the UFC for comment -- so far, no word back.

There were rumors on social media that drugs were involved in the wreck -- but cops wouldn't say anything about that at this point.

UFC stud Michael Bisping wants to have a Bill Clinton, Monica Lewinsky relationship with Wanderlei SIlva -- and yesterday, he formally invited his former rival to play the role of Monica.

Bisping was out in L.A. promoting his fight with C.B. Dollaway at UFC 186 ... when we brought up his old nemesis Silva -- who was banned from the UFC for life for ducking drug tests.

First, he called Silva a moron.

Then he called him another word for wiener.

And for his finale, he invited Mr. Silva to 3rd base.

She's coming off the biggest win of her career ... but UFC's new rising female superstar Paige VanZant would get MURDERED in a fight with Ronda Rousey ... so says UFC stud Demetrious Johnson.

Johnson -- the reigning flyweight champ -- says VanZant COULD be the next great female fighter ... but don't go crowning her just yet.

FYI -- 21-year-old VanZant extended her UFC record to 2-0 this weekend with a DOMINATING performance at "UFC on FOX 15" this weekend.

Clearly, Johnson doesn't think VanZant stands a chance against Rousey in the octagon ... but there is one arena he'd like to see them compete.

Here's UFC fighter Corey Anderson ... GETTING HIS TEETH PUT BACK IN HIS FACE ... after a crazy violent fight with Gian Villante at "UFC on FOX 15" this past weekend.

By the way, Anderson also suffered something called "HOLE IN HIS CHIN" ... which needed to be stitched up after the fight.

The 25-year-old sustained the facial injuries in the first minute of the fight, but continued to battle ... until he was knocked out in the closing seconds of the fight.

The good news -- Anderson got a $50k bonus for being "Fight of the Night" -- which is cool ... but damn, that's gotta hurt.

Steven Seagal nearly ended Luke Rockhold's fighting career earlier this year -- when he executed his legendary "death touch" on the UFC fighter ... who admits, "He put me on notice!!!"

Dana was out in NYC today ... when we asked about McGregor's fight prediction -- that he would WRECK Floyd in less than 30 seconds.

White doubled down even harder -- saying EVERY SINGLE FIGHTER on the UFC roster could take it to Floyd ... 'cause he's only skilled in 1 simple fighting style.

UFC badass Conor McGregor says he would ANNIHILATE Floyd Mayweather in a real deal street fight ... saying, "I would kill him in less than thirty seconds."

McGregor told Esquire he looks down on combat athletes who only specialize in one type of attack method -- for example, boxers.

"I don't look at a man who's expert in one area as a specialist ... I look at him as a rookie in ten other areas. If you can box, what happens if I grab hold of your legs?"
