Kyle Calder, who spent 10 seasons in the National Hockey League, died on Monday after briefly battling an unknown illness, his daughter announced.

He was 47 years old.

Calder, a 5'11" winger, started his NHL career with the Blackhawks in the 1999-2000 season, spending six years in Chicago before stints with the Flyers, Red Wings, Kings, and Ducks in 2009-2010.

Over the course of his decade-long stint in the league, Calder, a 5th round draft pick, played 590 games, scoring 114 goals, 180 assists, and accumulating 294 points.

Kyle's daughter, Madison, wrote a touching and emotional tribute on social media.

The Los Angeles Police Department shot and killed a 2-year-old dog after his owner had the cops called on her for screaming after the Knicks the NBA title ... and we're told police have yet to apologize to the grieving woman.

Marie Marseille is the late dog's owner and her sister, Vanessa, tells TMZ ... the family is mourning the death of Marie's doodle, Jamison, and they're trying to comfort each other amid a "very shocking and devastating" situation.

And to rub salt into the wound, Marie's sister tells us LAPD has NOT offered the family an apology following Saturday night's tragedy.

Late NASCAR driver Kyle Busch left behind all of his personal property, including his clothes and jewelry, to his widow, Samantha Busch, ... TMZ has learned.

A petition, obtained by TMZ, was filed asking for a man named Clifton Homesley to be named executor of Kyle's estate. Kyle's will was attached to the petition.

The paperwork noted that there is not a potential claim for wrongful death.

Brooklyn Beckham is pouring fuel on the fire ... taking a not-so-subtle shot at his famous relatives by seemingly mocking their family drama in a very shady new World Cup ad.

A terrifying terror plot involving explosive drones aimed at this weekend’s UFC Freedom 250 event in Washington, D.C. was foiled by the FBI.

Federal officials told Fox News Digital the plot called for explosive-packed drones to strike buildings near the UFC event, triggering chaos and a mass evacuation. Authorities allege the goal was to funnel panicked crowds into the path of a sniper team that had already been positioned nearby.

Aldon Smith's loved ones are searching for answers after the former NFL star's death ... revealing they are sending his brain to Boston to determine whether he suffered from CTE.

Smith's family hired a legal team to help them investigate what may have contributed to his passing at 36 years old ... and that features several steps, including having his brain examined for damage caused by concussions and other trauma.

Smith was found unresponsive in his truck on Saturday after delivering pizzas to the homeless earlier in the day. A cause of death has not been announced.
