You don't let just anyone hold your Oscar ... which is why it was very interesting when Common let his ex-GF Serena Williams carry his statue around last night ... fueling rumors they could be back on.

The two were spotted together at the Vanity Fair post-Oscars bash -- and even took a photo together (which Serena curiously posted and then removed from her Instagram page).

It's especially interesting ... considering that Common has been very open about how much he cared for Serena when they were together -- and even said he thought about marrying her.

To quote the Grail Knight at the end of "Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade" ... Harrison Ford chose wisely.

Instead of suffering through the nearly 4 hours of whatever that was on TV last night, Harrison grabbed his wife Calista Flockhart and hit up the Staples Center to watch the crappy Lakers.

But unlike the Academy Awards, Harrison Ford got a surprise ending ... the last place Lake Show actually pulled out a victory over the almost equally bad Boston Celtics.

Here's recently single Sports Illustrated: Swimsuit Edition supermodel Irina Shayk ... showing off everything from her underboob to her side ass at the Vanity Fair party Sunday night in Hollywood.

The 29-year-old gave Ronaldo the boot last month after rumors began circulating that he was bangin' other chicks ... so she's very single and by the looks of things, very ready to mingle.

For the record, there were a ton of hot single dudes at the VF party -- including Orlando Bloom, Jared Leto and Common.

Nobody felt as much at the Oscars as John Travolta -- just ask Scarlett Johansson ... who got up close with JT's hands even before Idina Menzel.

If you thought Travolta's overly touching moment on stage with Idina was strange -- and it definitely was -- imagine Scarlett's surprise on the red carpet.

John warmed up his hands pre-award show by sneaking up on Scarlett -- caressing her stomach and planting a kiss on her as she was posing for photogs.

Oprah Winfrey took an awesome shortcut to press some flesh Sunday night ... much to the consternation of security.

Oprah ducked under the velvet rope as a security dude gritted his teeth, in clear fear O might go down. It's unclear where she was going, but she was definitely in a hurry.

Oprah Winfrey won at the Academy Awards Sunday night ... scoring the Oscar everybody wanted ... the Lego variety.

She wasn't the only one ... during the performance of "Everything is Awesome" by Tegan and Sara and The Lonely Island, dancers dolled out Lego Oscars to stars like Oprah, Clint Eastwood, Meryl Streep, Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone, and others.

"The Lego Movie" may have been snubbed but they got their sweet revenge.

One thing's for sure ... those statues are awesome.

Oscars producers can stop holding their breath -- the Health Department combed the Dolby Theater for roaches and other violations, and gave 'em the green light for Sunday's ceremony ... TMZ has learned.

TMZ broke the story ... video shot inside the home of the Oscars showed several bars and a storage area that were filthy with dead cockroaches, flying bugs, dirty sinks, garbage and more.

Health Department Manager Charlene Contreras tells TMZ they sent 2 inspectors to the theater late Thursday afternoon -- hours after we posted the video -- to check the 6 bar areas. She says no roaches or flies turned up.

Contreras says the critters in the video may have set up camp in areas that are unused between events.

Bottom line ... celebs won't have to worry about crawling critters on Sunday. They're on their own with agents and lawyers though.

It's pretty bad that African Americans aren't represented at the Oscars, so we decided we'd give African Americans EXCLUSIVELY a voice in deciding who wins.

J.K. Simmons isn't someone with whom you want to play musical chairs ... the Oscar nominated "Whiplash" star says there's only one situation where throwing furniture at people works.

Simmons is cleaning up this awards season for his role as the ball-busting Terence Fletcher in the film ... but our photog found out, he doesn't agree with his character's teaching methods.

It doesn't sound like it was inspired by any teachers he had growing up, but he thinks Fletcher's "methods" only fly in one place.

The video was shot late last year but we're told by people who have been at the venue the conditions were unchanged as recently as 5 days ago.

We're told the Heath Dept. last inspected the Dolby in June and gave it a clean bill of health.

We contacted managers at Dolby, but so far no word back.

The Academy Awards gift bag this year contains all sorts of expensive items -- like a train ride through the Rockies and a year's worth of All-Audi A4 rentals -- but one item stands out most ... a session for mind reading techniques worth $20K.

Olessia Kantor -- who will fly out to the celebrity's location -- tells us she'll analyze their dreams/horoscopes ... and claims she can teach famous people how to read minds.

Some of her methods may sound crazy -- like daily staring exercises, thought concentration techniques and hours of mind power training -- but has a psychic ever sounded sane?

Meek Mill's Grammy party guests didn't trash Justin Bieber's famous glass palace -- they merely left a few cracks, according to Mill's attorney ... but there's still a war brewing over his $10K deposit.

Mill's attorney, Richard Joseph, denies leaving the mansion -- formerly rented by Bieber -- in shambles following the epic bash on Sunday night. He says there was a minor window crack, and a few scuffs on the walls ... but nothing that would qualify as "trashing."

Sources with direct knowledge of the lease for the house tell a much different story. TMZ obtained photos that appear to back up claims the place looked like a war zone, with damage including:

- a kicked in door with shattered windows

- dead landscaping

- broken glass in the pool

- destroyed furniture and cigarette smoke damage

Joseph claims those damages were never mentioned to him, and no one raised the possibility of holding his deposit. He also points out ... his name is on the lease, NOT Meek's.

Meek Mill took over Justin Bieber's glass mansion for Grammy weekend and threw a party so wild ... cops had to be called and the crib was destroyed when it was all said and done.

Mill hosted the massive Grammy after-party Sunday night -- Nicki Minaj, French Montana, Khloe Kardashian, Chris Brown and Justin were at the bash ... and sources inside tell us it got crazy when a fight broke out between rival gang members.

During the melee, we're told punches and even ice sculptures were tossed -- and most of the guests fled into the street. Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops were called around 1:30 AM for loud music, and found more than 1,000 people walking around the ritzy 'hood. It took about 3 hours to clear the streets.

No arrests were made, and police never went inside the house -- which was totally trashed. We're told Justin moved out last week, and Meek moved in ... signing a 1-week lease to lock down the party location.

We're guessing he can kiss that security deposit goodbye.

Nicki Minaj did NOT diss her boss Birdman by taking sides in his battle with Lil Wayne -- TMZ has learned the Cash Money CEO's denial from her pre-Grammy party was just a case of bad timing.

Sources close to Minaj tell us ... Birdman was only denied from 1OAK nightclub because the mogul's posse was looking to order bottle service, and the club was closing in 15 minutes.

On top of that, we're told Nicki had already left and the houselights were on in the club.

Sources tell us Nicki -- as well as Drake -- have made a point to stay out of the ongoing legal beef between Weezy and Baby ... even though Wayne says he's taking them with him when he leaves Cash Money.

We're told Nicki and Drake are hoping their bosses can squash this before it gets too messy -- though that ship seems to have sailed long ago.

Memo to Kanye West from Magic Johnson: Quit whining at award shows -- it's NOT always about your friends taking home EVERY trophy!

Magic was out in NYC today when we asked him about Kanye dissing Beck's Grammy win for Best Album -- and he dished out some sound advice ... which we're guessing Yeezy will totally ignore.

Still, MJ added ... Kanye's basically a "good guy" who just flies off at the mouth sometimes.

The NBA legend also sounded off about the Lakers' celeb fans possibly jumping ship.
