Kate Gosselin's ex-bf Jeff Prescott says the mother of 8 only wants to date him to boost ratings for her show.

Sources close to the millionaire COO tell TMZ Jeff THOUGHT he was in a real relationship with Kate, but quickly learned she only wanted him to appear on "Kate Plus 8" this season as her love interest.

We're told Jeff agreed to do the show a few months back, but when he realized what was up, he bailed because he felt she was just using him. No shock ... they're not on speaking terms.

So much for a new babysitter ...

A tattoo artist who appeared on the TV show "Best Ink" got nailed by cops for burglarizing her ex's apartment, but luckily ... she can drown her sorrows in the $200 beer stein she allegedly jacked.

Jessica Rotwein -- a Season 1 star on 'Ink' -- was arrested Thursday for the burglary cops say she pulled off back in March at her ex-boyfriend's Bronx apartment ... where security cams caught her coming through the front doors.

Rotwein was apparently fond of beverages -- she allegedly made off with the high-priced mug, 2 shot glasses, and $40 coffee maker. She also took her mail and a $15 shower caddy, 'cause y'know ... hygiene.

We're assuming it was a bad breakup.

Lil Wayne and Christina Milian have broken up, but not professionally.

The couple announced their split this week, using the standard "our-schedules-make-it-difficult" reason, but we're told one thing is clear ... she's not leaving Young Money -- because it benefits both of them.

Christina has an album due out later this year, and neither wants to derail it.

This wouldn't be the first time Christina worked with an ex. After divorcing The Dream, she continued with him on her music career.

Terrence Howard is fessing up to wife-beating allegations that cost him two of his marriages ... sort of.

Howard makes the admissions in Rolling Stone, saying in both instances he was provoked, kinda playing the victim card.

Howard was arrested in 2001 for hitting his first wife. He says, "She was talking to me real strong, and I lost my mind and slapped her in front of the kids. Her lawyer said it was a closed fist, but even slapping her was wrong."

As for his second marriage to Michelle Ghent, Howard explains, "She was trying to Mace me and you can't see anything so all you can do is try to bat somebody away, and I think that something caught her. But I wasn't trying to hit her."

Howard also deflects a 2005 incident at a restaurant where a woman claimed he hit her, but he says it was self-defense.

He lays a lot on the table.

Lil Wayne and Christina Milian have split up after a year of dating ... TMZ has confirmed.

Weezy and Milian were first rumored to be hooking up in July 2014, but only recently began publicly acknowledging their relationship.

Sources close to the ex-couple blamed their busy schedules for the break-up, and we're told neither's pointing fingers. In other words ... it's amicable.

Jon Hamm and Jennifer Westfeldt have ended their relationship after nearly 2 decades together.

The "Mad Men" star and Westfeldt announced the break-up through a joint statement, saying -- "With great sadness, we have decided to separate, after 18 years of love and shared history."

The now ex-couple told People, "We will continue to be supportive of each other in every way possible moving forward."

Jon and Jennifer were rumored to be on the rocks earlier this year after Hamm got out of rehab, but they denied there was any trouble. In fact, Hamm credited her for sticking by him while he got treatment.

Scott Disick is officially a guest in his own home ... meaning he can't come in without Kourtney Kardashian's permission.

Scott showed up at the family residence in Calabasas Sunday, but this time his Rolls had to veer left in the visitors line at the guard shack. TMZ broke the story on July 14 that Kourtney took him off the residents list, which allows entry no questions asked.

But Master P wants to make it clear ... he's fine with Sonya living in the house, "But I’m not going to allow access to her boyfriend and partying friends to come over and sleep where my kids are." He also accuses her of neglecting their children, saying -- " she doesn’t even take my kids to school and my sixteen year old failed all of her classes last year under her mother’s lack of guidance."

He says her court filing is simply a publicity stunt, and he can prove she's been parading people in and out of the gated community for her ragers ... "These records will be furnished to the courts to show the heavy traffic and penalties that I have had to pay for all the crazy parties she’s been having."

Nicki Minaj is finally nothing more than a faded memory to her ex-bf Safaree Samuels, who just ditched his last tattoo tribute to her ... in a bed of roses.

Safaree got his forearm ink of Nicki with her tongue out covered up with the new flowery tatt. It's pretty amazing -- look closely and there's not a trace of her left. Safaree started operation Scrub Nicki months ago ... starting with his chest.

Safaree says the change gave him an "overwhelming feeling of liberation."

Interestingly, the artist, named Compton -- posted a shot of his handiwork with the caption, "#SorryNicki #itsJustBusiness"

Break-ups are always hardest on the tattoo guys.

"Homeland" star Morena Baccarin's growing success could be exactly what hurts her in her divorce ... costing both money and time with her kid.

Morena's soon-to-be ex-husband Austin Chick just filed docs in their divorce, and he wants his chunk of her paycheck. Chick claims Morena is pulling in $1.5 million a year. He wants a cut for child and spousal support.

Chick says Morena's constant travel for work isn't healthy for their one-year-old, so he wants physical custody. He also wants Morena to cover nanny expenses up to $3k per month.

The guy who co-founded Skype -- and sold it for $2.6 BILLION -- claims he got the picture when he found out his fiancee allegedly cheated on him, and now he's suing to get the ridiculously expensive ring back.

Janus Friis claims in a new lawsuit, he got engaged to Maria Louise Joensen -- a Danish recording artist who goes by Aura Dione -- back in 2013. As a symbol of his love, he gave her a $471,000 engagement ring, an apartment and cash, but claims there were strings attached to the gifts ... they had to seal the deal.

Friis claims he learned she had "multiple affairs and sexual encounters with other men" and broke off the engagement. So now he wants his stuff back.

If Maria's holding on to the ring, it's pretty obvious why ... Janus describes it as a 950 Platinum band inset with a number of diamonds, including a 1.76 ct round brilliant cut diamond -- D color, internally flawless, excellent symmetry and cut grade.

The ring also has a pair of blue pear shaped diamonds of South African origins with a collective weight of .91 ct.

Friis wants minimum $1 million.
