Suge Knight Why He Was Arrested for Murder

Published | Updated

Law enforcement does NOT believe Suge Knight intended to run over and kill his friend Thursday, but they DO believe he tried to run over another guy and that's enough to charge him with murder.

Law enforcement sources tell us ... they have interviewed multiple witnesses who say the man Suge seemed to be after was Cle "Bone" Sloan, an actor who has appeared in "Training Day" and "End of Watch."

Suge and Bone were in a physical altercation before he threw his truck in reverse. Witnesses say Suge gunned the car in reverse twice, as if to make sure he hit his target.

The man who died, Terry Carter, was a passenger in the truck when they arrived. He's a good friend of Suge's who was apparently dealing with Bone behind the truck when Suge gunned it.

Even though Suge clearly did not intend to kill Carter, in California and most states, if someone in the process of committing a felony accidentally kills someone in the process ... he can be charged with murder.

Short story ... if Suge was gunning for Bone, that would constitute a felony -- assault with a deadly weapon -- therefore, he could be charged with "felony murder" even though his good friend -- and not Bone -- was killed.

George Zimmerman Off the Hook For Alleged GF Assault

Published | Updated

George Zimmerman will not be prosecuted for allegedly assaulting his ex-girlfriend ... now that she's totally changed her story and refusing to cooperate with authorities.

As we previously reported ... Zimmerman was arrested in Florida earlier this month after the woman told police he had thrown a wine bottle at her during an argument in his house.

Prosecutors announced Friday they were dropping the case against Zimmerman because the now ex-gf is denying there was a bottle thrown -- and says she was never in fear for her life. She also doesn't want to proceed with the case ... according to the State Attorney.

Without an eyewitness to back up the woman's initial claims ... prosecutors decided to cut bait.

Scientology Attacks Hit Flick Our Main Accuser's a Liar!

Published | Updated

The Church of Scientology is on the attack against the director of a documentary eviscerating the org., claiming the guy who made the most indicting claims is a known liar.

A rep from Scientology tells TMZ ... the man featured in the movie who claims Church officials illegally wiretapped Nicole Kidman cannot be believed because he has admitted under oath in a court case he's lied about the Church before.

The rep says in December Marty Rathbun -- a former Scientology exec featured in the documentary -- was under oath

late last year and admitted he lied about Scientology practices. He also admitted to obstruction of justice.

We've confirmed Rathbun did indeed lie, but his position -- which he discussed in the deposition -- is that he lied to protect the Church and cover up its misdeeds. Rathbun says he was an executive in the Church at the time and did not want to squeal on alleged misdeeds of Church leaders.

Rathbun claims in the documentary that he was tasked with facilitating the breakup of Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, because her dad was a psychologist and the Church felt he was influencing the actor into distancing himself from Scientology.

The Scientology rep expressed frustration at the flick, saying, "These people personify the famous quote by Winston Churchill, 'A lie gets halfway around the world before the truth has a chance to put its pants on.'"

Diddy Not Again ... Kids Get Swatted

Published | Updated

LAPD rushed to the home of Diddy's kids in response to a death threat and gunfire call ... but it may just be a bad comeback for "swatting."

Law enforcement sources tell us ... cops got a call early Thursday AM that a disturbing letter threatening to kill everybody in the house was left on the doorstep of baby mama Kim Porter's L.A. area home.

Officers rushed to the scene, but no one was home ... nor was there a letter.

Six minutes after cops left ... another call came in reporting multiple shots were fired, and the house was engulfed in flames. Police rushed back, but again ... nothing.

We're told cops are investigating to see if the calls are connected to a rash of "swatting" back in 2013 ... when celebs like Diddy, Magic Johnson, Khloe Kardashian, Clint Eastwood, and Rihanna were victimized.

Prosecutors say the footage was taken inside Hernandez's Massachusetts house on June 17, 2013 ... showing the forming NFL star clutching what appears to be a glock firearm.

Officials believe Lloyd was shot 6 times earlier that morning ... and are convinced Aaron pulled the trigger using the very same gun in the surveillance video.

Aaron's lawyers are calling the video into question -- saying the object in Hernandez's hand could be anything from an iPad to a cell phone to a remote control.

Opening statements in the murder case just wrapped up. Stay tuned ...

Lindsay Lohan Prosecutor Calls BS ... Will Recommend Jail

Published | Updated

Lindsay Lohan could go to jail for doing BS community service ... at least if the prosecutor has his way.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... prosecutor Terry White is indignant over the revelation Lindsay's community service organization let her do ridiculous things to fulfill her obligation. As we first reported, Lindsay got 18 hours credit for meeting and greeting fans after her London play.

And Lindsay got 70 hours credit for allowing young people to follow her around for "work shadowing experience" ... pretty incredible, since she wasn't working at the time.

We're told White believes Lindsay had an obligation to inform the court the types of community service she was doing. White objected to allowing Lindsay to do her community service in London for this very reason, and now we're told he feels she's manipulated the system and should do jail time for not completing legitimate community service.

Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, told the judge her client merely did what she was told to do by the community service organization.

Lil Wayne to Birdman I'm Willing to Stay If the Price is Right

Published | Updated

Lil Wayne will stay with Cash Money and Birdman IF they ante up the money he's owed ... in fact, we're told if Cash Money pays up, Wayne has no choice but to stay.

Sources involved in the case tell TMZ ... Wayne feels Birdman's decision to avoid paying him is nothing more than a power play. TMZ broke the story that Wayne is suing, and a central claim is that Birdman has consistently stiffed him over the last year.

There are 2 payments that have irked Wayne -- he says he was owed $8 million when he went into the studio to record "Tha Carter V" in December 2013, and another $2 mil when he completed the album last month.

We're told the hope is that Universal -- which distributes Cash Money Records -- will step in and earmark the $10 mil for Wayne. And we're told Universal is already putting pressure on Cash Money to settle.

If Cash Money pays Wayne the $10 mil, it would essentially eliminate any breach of contract. That means Wayne would have no legal basis to ask out of the contract. Even though Wayne's suing for $51 million, most of that is predicated on future lost profits which would not be an issue if they settle.

As for the release of "Tha Carter V" ... even if the case settles the power would be in Birdman's claws.

Black Sabbath Geezer Butler Arrested for Bar Brawl

Published | Updated

Ozzy Osbourne's right hand man in Black Sabbath -- bassist Geezer Butler -- got busted for a bar fight, and spent a night in jail.

Sources tell us Butler was in a bar at the Furnace Creek Ranch in Death Valley Tuesday ... when the brawl broke out -- and apparently the ol' Geezer's still got some fight left in him.

Inyo County Sheriff's deputies, clearly believing the Butler did it ... arrested the 65-year-old for battery, vandalism, and disorderly conduct.

Butler famously wrote most of Sabbath's lyrics ... while Ozzy got all the glory as the band's frontman.

Has he lost his mind? Can he see or is he blind?

Who knows? But cops tell us Butler was released from jail Wednesday morning after drying out.

Lil Wayne Sues Birdman's Cash Money I Want Out!

Published | Updated

Lil Wayne has made good on his promise to go after Cash Money ... because he's filed a lawsuit asking a judge to end his contract with Birdman's label.

According to the lawsuit, obtained by TMZ, Wayne says Birdman and company violated the deal by withholding tens of millions of dollars Cash Money owes him for his long-delayed album, "Tha Carter V."

Wayne claims because Cash Money is refusing to pay, he's entitled to walk.

But Lil Wayne wants more than just a declaration of freedom. He's suing for $51 MILLION.

And Wayne wants the judge to declare he's the joint copyright owner of all Young Money recordings ... which includes Drake, Nicki Minaj and several others.

Sources connected to Wayne tell TMZ ... if Birdman antes up then he can release "Tha Carter V," but only if Wayne gets paid. Wayne says he was supposed to get an $8 million advance when he began recording in December, 2013 and another 2M when he completed the album a year later, but so far he's gotten nothing.

Lindsay Lohan I Showed Troubled Youth the Right Path And I Got Credit!

Published | Updated

Lindsay Lohan got credit for 18 hours of community service for doing meet and greets with fans who went to see her London play ... and that's why the prosecutor is furious.

It's pretty stunning ... Community Service Volunteers in London submitted docs to the court in Lindsay's probation case Wednesday ... listing 5 meet and greets following her performances in "Speed-the-Plow." According to the docs, each hangout lasted 3 HOURS!

But wait ... it gets even more bizarre ... CSV gave 5 lucky probationers a total of 70 hours with Lindsay ... providing them with "work shadowing experience." In other words, young people who needed to be taught a lesson followed Lindsay by way of example. The other thing ... she's not even working right now.

Prosecutor Terry White wants 2 weeks to get to the bottom of it before he makes a recommendation to the judge. Lindsay's lawyer, Shawn Holley, told the judge Lindsay merely complied with CSV rules.

Ludacris I Got Primary Physical Custody of Our Daughter

Published | Updated

Ludacris just got what he was after in family court ... the judge just gave him primary physical custody of his 1-year-old daughter ... but the decision is really confusing.

The decision comes after baby mama Tamika Fuller bitterly testified Luda didn't want the baby when he found out she was pregnant, and even tried to negotiate an abortion by throwing 10K her way.

But sources connected with the rapper tell TMZ ... the judge reviewed the report from an independent expert as well as the testimony and concluded Luda was the more fit parent.

The judge awarded both Luda and Tamika joint legal and physical custody but said Luda will be "the primary physical custodian." We've watched the video of the decision and the judge messes up in a big way, saying Luda has decision-making authority. If that's true, he would have primary legal custody. Short story ... the judge makes very little sense.

Luda tells TMZ, "I am gratified that the judge found me to be the most fit and proper parent to have primary physical custody of our beautiful daughter."

Mariah and Nick Nanny Sues Their Kids Liked Me Too Much

Published | Updated

Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon may be getting divorced, but they're still attached because they're being sued by a former nanny who claims she was fired because she showed too much affection to their twins.

Simonette DaCosta claims in a new lawsuit -- obtained by TMZ -- she was the full-time nanny when the kids were just infants. She fed, bathed and comforted them, but it didn't sit well with Mariah.

DaCosta claims the singer berated her for showing too much affection. Translation, it's pretty clear she's alleging Mariah was jealous because the kids liked their nanny way too much.

DaCosta also claims she was worked too hard ... putting in lots of OT -- sometimes 100 hours a week.

She wants back pay and other damages.
