We spoke with the Disney alum following the premiere of Disney+’s "Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special" and he thinks his character of Jake -- Miley Stewart's on-again, off-again love interest -- would be excited about the project. He says you can never say never ... and that Jake will always hold a special place in his heart.

And for the burning question -- does Cody think Jake and Miley were endgame? He tells TMZ he's not too sure if they'd be together in real life, but he's certain they will always have love for one another because they're each other's first loves. He also gushes about how Miley taught his character -- who was quite self-absorbed when fans first met him -- how to be humble while still having "The Best of Both Worlds" ... it's all in the clip.

The character was famously a teenager who doubled as a notable pop star, Hannah Montana, giving herself the stage name -- along with an infamous wig -- to maintain anonymity and some semblance of normalcy in her young life.

American actor Lucas Till was 18 years old when he played Travis -- the small-town Southern guy and the main love interest -- in "Hannah Montana: The Movie" back in 2009.

Till hit the big screen with Miley Cyrus, Billy Ray Cyrus, and Natalie Granger.

"Hannah Montana" star Jason Earles is exposing a "big secret" he had on the set of the popular Disney sitcom ... he told execs he was 10 years younger than he actually was in order to nab the part!

In the inaugural episode of the "Best of Both Our Worlds" podcast, Jason cops to lying about his age in his audition and telling producers he was 18 years old ... because he was really 28, but was supposed to be playing a teenager.

In fact, casting director Lisa London encouraged him to fudge the truth -- except she believed he was only 19 ... because the actor had "lied to her in a different audition."

JE admitted he almost didn't audition because he was "too old," saying ... "Nobody's gonna buy it."

But they did ... for a while. It wasn't until Season One's eighth episode that 'Hannah' producer and podcast cohost Douglas Danger Lieblein learned the truth.

The Disney alum also recalled being found out by a network exec, saying he "showed up on show night and was like, 'Hey, you're, uh, 28? And you're married?' I was like, 'Yeah, that girl I keep making out with … that's my wife.'"

Ultimately, Jason said showrunner Steven Peterman was grateful for the dishonesty and told him ... "Thank you so much for lying to us because we would’ve gotten nervous if we’d found out during the pilot and we would’ve recast you."

Douglas seconded the sentiment, adding that Jason made the show what it was because "the kids thought you were a kid and they treated you as such."

Fans are getting the best of both worlds in the latest promo for the “Hannah Montana 20^th Anniversary Special."

In a new clip, Miley Cyrus dons the famous blonde wig to take a trip down memory lane.

The singer gets emotional as she steps onto the recreated set of the hit Disney show, saying … “This feels like home to me.”

The video even shows MC retaking a classic Hannah pic, and fans are losing it.

And both her parents are getting in on the fun … Miley’s seen raiding the closet with her mom Tish Cyrus and hip-bumping dad Billy Ray Cyrus – the same way their characters did on the show.

Miley Cyrus just turned Malibu into a full-blown "Hannah Montana" time capsule.

The singer was photographed cruising along the Southern California coast Saturday with a camera crew in tow, rocking the iconic platinum blonde wig, oversized shades and a sleek all-black outfit ... fully channeling her Disney Channel alter ego.

And the biggest throwback of all? The car. Miley was behind the wheel of a classic black Ford Mustang convertible ... the same style ride her character famously drove in the original "Hannah Montana." The Mustang was practically a co-star in the early seasons, symbolizing Hannah's sunny Malibu double life and becoming one of the show's most recognizable visuals.

"Hannah Montana" was not inspired by "Lizzie McGuire" in "any shape or form," TMZ has learned ... following Hilary Duff's comments that she was "sure" the 'Lizzie McGuire Movie' helped shape the show.

We caught up with the creator of "Hannah Montana," Michael Poryes, who says Disney pitched him the ​idea to create a show about a popstar ... and he came up with the concept in a small garage office in Los Angeles.

He tells us there was "zero" inspiration derived from "Lizzie McGuire" -- he had never even seen the movie -- saying he'd watched maybe 1 or 2 episodes of the series when he went to brainstorm ideas that would eventually lead him to "Hannah Montana."

Tish explained that a lightbulb went off in her head when 'Hannah' casting directors joked they "couldn't afford" Billy for the show during Miley's audition ... prompting her to jump in and tell them the idea wasn't too far-fetched.

She then turned to Billy, urging him to audition, and while she knew it would be a pay cut for him, it meant their family would be together again.

At that time, the whole Cyrus family, including their 5 children, had been living in Toronto, where Billy was filming another show -- and Tish was stressing over the thought of constantly traveling back and forth between Canada and L.A. for Miley's new starring role -- so getting Billy on the series was a golden opportunity.

Tish's reflection on "Hannah Montana" clearly appears to be more on the "what could have been" scale, but Billy Ray remembers it much differently ... telling GQ in 2011, the show "destroyed my family."
