NFL's Wallace Gilberry I Had to Help That Family ... I Saw Their Faces

Published | Updated

He's the NFL lineman who surprised a family of 7 in a Target store by picking up the check for a PS4 ... and now Bengals star Wallace Gilberry is finally explaining why he did what he did.

Gilberry's story made national news when someone shot a pic of the 270-pounder approaching the random family Monday night and offering to buy holiday gifts for the kids.

So ... why?

"I just went to Target to get some clippers to trim my beard and I saw a family with a dad, wife and five or six kids. The kids were looking at the electronics and I could tell by the mom's face that she was upset about telling the kids they wouldn't be able to afford what they wanted."

"I went up to the family and asked them if they would mind if I bought the kids whatever they wanted. They said that would be so great ... the dad said he was starting a new job and money was tight."

So, Gilberry bought a PS4 and a bunch of video games -- "One of the kids was really excited about a game called Minecraft. I don't even know what that is, but he went crazy."

In the end, Gilberry dropped somewhere close to $800 ... but says it's not about the money.

"One thing about me is that I grew up with my shirt on my back and that's it. Money doesn't define me. If I have a million dollars, I'm going to try to help a million people."

Awesome.

Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson Helps Save 'The Rock' ... Doggie Version

Published | Updated

A very sick pooch named Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is going to get a life-saving heart operation in the nick of time thanks to his namesake.

Dwayne, the dog, was all fur and bones with his mouth wired shut when L.A. shelter SPOT! found him. Turns out, Dwayne has a grade 6 heart murmur that requires a $4,500 surgery.

Someone started a GoFundMe page for the patient, and the two-legged Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson got wind of it. The actor has a real soft spot for dogs, and dropped $1,500 toward the $5k goal.

The Rock's not the only celeb to open his wallet ... we're told 'Real World' and "Hangover 2" star Jamie Chung donated $600 for a heart echo and x-rays.

As of now, the little guy's about $365 shy of the goal. The shelter plans on putting any extra cash it raises towards surgeries for other sick and injured dogs.

Viacom Chairman Sumner Redstone Legal Docs Claim Mental Incompetence ... But Healthy Sexual Appetite

Published | Updated

Viacom Chairman and CEO Sumner Redstone is in the middle of a legal war, with his ex-lover/caregiver fighting in court to regain control over decisions that will keep him alive ... and her arguments involve sex.

Manuela Herzer claims in legal docs she was once romantic and for a long time a close friend and confidant with the 92-year-old Redstone -- who also started Midway Games which produced Mortal Kombat -- and in September of this year he chose her to make medical decisions on his behalf.

Herzer claims things changed radically just one month later when Redstone's health and mental state really deteriorated. She claims Redstone's people threw her out of his home and she no longer had the power to make medical decisions.

Herzer now claims Redstone was in such bad shape mentally he did not have the capacity to strip her of the power he gave her just a month earlier.

In her docs, Herzer suggests a marker showing Redstone's mental deterioration was when he started ignoring doctors orders. She says he "demands, to the extent he can be understood, to engage in sexual activity every day, even though Dr. Gold has repeatedly recommended that he abstain from daily sexual activity."

The docs also claim Redstone can't write, his signature is almost a straight line, "appearing as if someone moved the paper under his pen," he has "spontaneous crying spells" and can only converse in "brief grunted responses."

An attorney for Redstone tells us, "Ms. Herzer's claim that she filed this lawsuit out of concern for Mr. Redstone is preposterous." They added, "It proves only that Ms. Herzer will stop at nothing to pursue her personal financial agenda."

A judge has yet to rule.

Wu-Tang Clan Sells ONE Album ... For MILLIONS!!!!

Published | Updated

Wu-Tang Clan ain't as crazy as you thought -- they just sold a single top secret album for more than $1 MILLION, and what IS crazy is ... the buyer can't share the music publicly!!

You'll recall the Wu announced it had spent 6 years recording a double album called "Once Upon a Time in Shaolin" ... and would auction it off. Not a copy, but THE only album. Well, Forbes says the bizarre plan worked -- it sold at auction for a "price in the millions."

The American buyer wants to remain anonymous, like the record itself.

Part of the deal is he or she must wait 88 years to release the 31 cuts to the public -- which means RZA, GZA, Raekwon, Method Man et al. will NEVER hear the music played in a club or on the radio. On the plus side ... they'll probably die rich.

The Gap Band Lawsuit I Dropped a Bomb on My Brother

Published | Updated

R&B legend "Uncle" Charlie Wilson is at war with his brother over just who exactly IS The Gap Band ... and who gets to keep making money off of the name.

Ronnie Wilson filed a lawsuit claiming Charlie is derailing his efforts to launch a comeback tour. In the docs, obtained by TMZ, Ronnie says he recently booked 2 big gigs -- one at B.B. King Blues Club & Grill in NYC, and another at Howard Theatere in Washington, D.C.

Ronnie says after he sealed the deals, Charlie -- who left the band in 2009 -- had his people step in and somehow interfere with the bookings. Ronnie says both venues pulled the plug.

The elder Wilson points out his band existed for years before kid bro Charlie joined in '72.

Ronnie says his new Gap Band stood to make more than $20k from the 2 gigs. He's suing for damages and to get the court to block Charlie from interfering with future bookings.

His point -- you might have been the lead singer, but this band is MINE, bro.

Romeo Lawyers Have Brainwashed My Mom

Published | Updated

Romeo took a page out of Shakespeare -- the playwright who inspired his name -- who once wrote, "The first thing we do, let's kill all the lawyers" ... that seems to be the fate he wishes for his mom's attorney.

Romeo unleashed his anger on the attorneys who just served him with a lawsuit filed by his own mother, claiming he conspired with Master P to screw her out of money.

Sonya Miller sued Romeo, but he says she's a puppet and her lawyers are pulling the strings ... "Today I was SERVED by my own mother and although it hurts, I know that she can't be 100% behind all of these ridiculous moves but instead is being guided by another's greed."

Romeo says, "It sucks because the only reason I've ever worked so hard was to make my mother proud."

He says he hasn't spoken with his mom in months. He then blames the media for fueling these stories by spreading "rumors" he was hiding money. Fact is, that's what his mom alleges in her lawsuit against him.

'Shahs' Star Jessica Parido Mike Can Keep His Money ... And the Stupid Diamond

Published | Updated

"Shahs of Sunset" star Jessica Parido wants to wash her hands clean of husband Mike Shouhed, and she's willing to give back her 4.5 carat rock to do it.

Sources close to Jess tell us when she walked out on Mike in August she left with only two small bags and her engagement ring ... worth around $200k. She left behind their two dogs and her wardrobe (mostly purchased by Mike) because she wants nothing to do with him or his money.

Although the box for spousal support was checked on the divorce docs -- we're told it was a mistake on her lawyer's part ... since Jessica doesn't want a dime.

Jess and Mike were only married for 4 months when she walked out. As for the wedding gifts ... that might have to be sorted out in court, since they haven't yet discussed what to do with them. They haven't even sent 'thank you' notes yet!

We're told their split will be featured on the next season of 'Shahs.'

Canelo won ... and now, we've confirmed that Jay has already paid up.

Oscar tells TMZ Sports the money was wired over immediately ... and will be used to help people at an L.A. hospital.

"Thanks to Jay Z, thousands of patients at White Memorial Medical Center will also be winners." Oscar says ... "I don’t imagine [Jay's] excited about losing $100k, but he can take some comfort in knowing that it’s going to a good cause."

Scott Disick Here's My Plan to ... Win Back Kourtney

Published | Updated

Scott Disick is going all out to prove he's worthy to Kourtney Kardashian, but in true Lord D fashion his strategy involves making a few extra dollars while he's at it.

We've learned Scott is unloading his Bev Hills party pad. He went off the deep end while living there ... partly because the place is a magnet for hot chicks and wild parties -- a real panty dropper.

The home's already in escrow in the high $4 million range. Scott bought it for $3.69 mil ... so he'll likely pocket some cash off the sale. We're told Scott's looking to make real estate his main source of income post-rehab instead of club appearances. He's already been out hunting for other investment properties.

As for putting down roots -- Scott's reportedly looking to move into the same neighborhood as Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner ... just a stones throw from Kourtney and the kids.

Akon Hey Mom, Merry Early XMAS Take My Home, Please

Published | Updated

Akon already feels the holiday spirit ... he just turned over the deed to his Atlanta home to his mom.

It's a 5 bedroom pad about an hour outside of the ATL. Akon bought the home a decade ago for $293k but his digs are now much grander ... a mansion in the Atlanta burbs.

The bond between Akon and his mom goes beyond blood. They both devote a lot of time to the Konfidence Foundation, which helps kids in West Africa. She's the president/CEO.

There might be another reason for the transfer ... Akon's got a bunch of outstanding tax liens ... so it'll be a lot harder for Uncle Sam to go after the crib.

Tom Welling Super Rich Divorce Settlement

Published | Updated

Tom Welling's divorce is now final, and the settlement is unusual in the spousal support dept.

The "Smallville" star's 10 year marriage to Jamie Welling is officially over, and according to legal docs Tom has to pay spousal support for 5 years, but not a set amount.

The 38-year-old actor has to shell out 20% of his net professional income to Jamie, but there are limits. Anything Tom earns north of $5 mil a year is his and his alone.

So, you ask, is Tom that loaded? Apparently, yes. He's worked consistently -- most recently in "Draft Day" -- and according to docs, he and Jamie own a Florida horse farm, and homes in Florida and Massachusetts. They have a bunch of fancy cars and lots of other stuff.

BTW ... as for the farm, she gets all the horses, including Springstein, Donatello, Zoozee, Cliff and Tomorrow. He gets to keep Tomahawk.

Sean Kingston I've Been Kidnapped Over Jewelry Cops Investigating

Published | Updated

Sean Kingston claims he was kidnapped by a jeweler in a dispute over a $225,000 watch ... and LAPD is now on the case.

Here's what Sean says ... he bought the watch from a jeweler and made payments to the tune of $185k, but didn't pay the balance because he felt the watch wasn't worth any more. The jeweler begged to differ and they had a number of arguments.

Sean told cops he and the jeweler met Tuesday at 1:50 AM at a downtown L.A. parking lot, to make a trade ... he'd give the watch back and the jeweler would give him a watch worth a solid $185k. Yes, it sounds weird.

Sean says he got in the back of the jeweler's car but instead of trading, the jeweler allegedly snatched Sean's watch away and refused to give him another watch. Sean says he went nuts, demanded the watch back and refused to get out of the car.

Now for the jack move. Sean says the jeweler and his posse locked him in the car and drove away to a secluded area and threw him out of the car. Cops say if true, it's kidnapping.

We know it's a little confusing. Here's a road map ...
