Future claims he didn't go to the Falcons-Seahawks game this weekend to spite Russell Wilson ... he's just a huge Falcons fan ... plain and simple.

Obviously, with the history between Future and Russ (and Ciara) -- it was verrrry interesting to see the rapper on the sidelines opposite the Seahawks QB at the NFL playoff game in ATL on Saturday.

But a source close to Future says the rapper is adamant his appearance was not meant to be a shot at his ex's husband.

We're told he's tight with a bunch of Falcons players -- especially stud receiver Julio Jones -- so that's why he was invited to the game ... and he'll probably go this coming Sunday too.

Our sources say Future and Ciara are cordially co-parenting their kid these days ... and Future isn't trying to rock the boat.

In fact, the rapper specified which song they should play ... and it's an interesting choice.

The Seahawks play the Falcons in ATL this weekend ... and there were rumblings the Falcons DJ would try to get in Wilson's head by piping in some Future tunes during the game.

While that would be absolutely amazing ... Carter said it was a bad idea when we talked to him out in L.A. ... with the thinking being that you don't want to poke the 5'10" bear.

The Seattle Seahawks QB snuck into the locker room and put a brand new 55" Samsung Curved UHD TV (retails for $800) in front of all of their lockers.

In addition to the TV's ... we're told Wilson bought 130 Seahawks players and team personnel each 2 first-class, round-trip tickets to wherever they wanna go.

Richard Sherman vowed to single-handedly ruin a reporter's career Tuesday -- seriously -- all because the guy asked a question the Seahawks star didn't like.

It all went down right after Sherman wrapped up a news conference -- in which 710 ESPN Seattle reporter Jim Moore had asked Sherman about criticism of the team's offensive coordinator.

Sherman didn't like the question ... and as he was leaving the conference, he went up to Moore and said, "I'll ruin your career."

Moore replied, "You'll ruin my career? How are you going to do that?"

Sherman: "I'll make sure you don't get your media pass anymore."

Moore: "Is that right?"

Sherman: "Yes it is."

It's the season of giving ... and Joel McHale really wants to give Raiders owner Mark Davis a new haircut ... 'cause the comedian says his current 'do is actually a DON'T.

TMZ Sports ran into McHale at The Grove when he started talkin' football and his beloved Seahawks ... which eventually turned into an impromptu roast of Mark Davis.

Davis has been rockin' the hairdo forever ... but McHale says if he's ready to make a switch, he can be Mark's guy.

Seattle Seahawks safety Kam Chancellor had one helluva Monday night -- 'cause after his team beat up on the Buffalo Bills, he celebrated by PROPOSING TO HIS GIRLFRIEND!

Chancellor was inactive for the game with a groin injury -- but he ran the engagement to perfection ... popping the question to his actress GF, Tiffany Luce, after the game ... and she said, "Yes!"

(Hopefully, he soldiered through that groin injury later that night)

The whole engagement was caught on video by Kam's good friend, Giovanni Ruffin ... and we gotta give the macho man high marks for his ability to show his sensitive side.

Congrats to Kam & Tifanny ... and to Russell & Ciara ... who had nothing to do with the proposal, but are nonetheless adorable.

Marshawn Lynch reenacted his infamous 2006 golf cart joyride at Cal before the Golden Bears game.

It was hysterical. You'll recall when Marshawn got behind the wheel during the Cal/Washington game back in the day.

It definitely holds up.

"Marshawn Lynch is retired, he told me from his own mouth," the NFL Network analyst says.

FYI, Michael and Marshawn weren't just teammates but are close friends ... and Robinson says he called up #24 after reading reports that he's considering playing in the NFL this year.

"He said, 'Dude, I'm not going anywhere. I'm as busy as I've ever been.'"

Seahawks superstar Richard Sherman is following in Peyton Manning's footsteps ... by opening his very own fast food joint -- a Wingstop -- in Seattle ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The All-Pro CB was inspired to open the biz after one of his former teammates, Sidney Rice, had a lot of success -- aka made a lot of money -- owning several of the wing joints.

A rep for Wingstop tells us Sherman grew up a fan of their delicious chicken wings ... so partnering up was a no-brainer.

Sherman's a newbie to the restaurant biz ... so we're told he's been spending a lot of time making sure things at his first spot run smoothly. However, word is he's scoping out other locales in the hopes of opening more wing franchises.

A big pre-season victory for Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner -- who will NOT be prosecuted for allegedly attacking his baby mama's father last month ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We broke the story ... cops were investigating Browner after the alleged victim claimed he was in a heated argument with the NFL player, who became violent. Browner allegedly left the scene in his white Bentley before cops arrived.

But according to new court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, the investigation hit a major roadblock -- because officials could not locate or interview Browner ... and the witnesses suddenly became uncooperative.

The L.A. County District Attorney's office ultimately decided they didn't have the goods to get a conviction -- and declined to move forward with charges.

Seattle Seahawks cornerback Brandon Browner has been named in a police report -- by a man who claims the NFL star attacked him at an L.A. County home ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Ex-TCU quarterback Trevone Boykin has been charged with assault for allegedly striking a police officer after he was thrown out of a bar days before the Alamo Bowl ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Boykin -- who has since signed with the Seattle Seahawks -- was captured on video being physically removed from Pat O'Briens bar in San Antonio on Dec. 31st ... while throwing punches at staff on the way out.

Once he was in the street, Boykin can be seen rushing toward bike cops who rolled up to the scene. Officials say he struck one of the officers while they tried to take him into custody.

Boykin was initially booked for assaulting a public servant (a 3rd degree felony), public intoxication and resisting arrest.

But it appears he caught a huge break -- 'cause according to court docs obtained by TMZ Sports, the 22-year-old was only officially charged with one count of misdemeanor assault with bodily injury.

If convicted, Boykin faces up to 1 year in jail.

Court docs say ... multiple officers witnessed the alleged assault. The witnesses say they saw multiple cuts and scrapes on the victim.

Richard Sherman's family is awesome!

We got the NFL star's mom, Beverly, and his brother, Branton, out in L.A. -- where his mother is trying to launch her acting career ... and they couldn't have been nicer.

Turns out, they're really big fans of NBA star Nate Robinson -- a Seattle native -- and hope his tryout with the Seahawks went well.

As we previously reported, Nate -- who played college football at the Univ. of Washington -- worked out with the team and is hoping to land a spot as a defensive back.

"He'll be a good addition to the L.O.B." Branton said.
