MAURY POVICH SETTLES PATERNITY OF BABY ORANGUTAN ... 'You ARE The Father!'

Published | Updated

The Denver Zoo had a serious paternity dispute on its hands, and turned to the expert, Maury Povich, to help settle things once and for all.

THE PRI-MATERNITY TEST

The TV icon who has gotten to the bottom of hundreds of paternity disputes on his talk show was called in for a case of a new baby orangutan ... zoo officials weren't sure whether 30-year-old Berani or 16-year-old Jaya was the baby daddy of 4-month-old Sumatran orangutan, Siska.

Always a showman, a suited and booted 84-year-old Povich recorded a video for the big reveal, pulling out a piece of paper from a brown envelope and delivering his iconic line: "Berani ... you ARE the father!"

Jaya's off the hook -- even though Siska's mother, Eirina, enjoyed "some courtship and mating activity" with him too.

Denver Zoo's website says that Berani lives with 3 other females and was approved for breeding through the Sumatran Orangutan Species Survival Plan -- which is a big deal cause Sumatran orangutans are a critically endangered species.

As for now, we're hoping Berani steps up to his fatherly duties.

Mauricio Umansky Graba a Anitta y Lele Pons esquiando en toallas... En medio de su soltería

Published | Updated

Mauricio Umansky Films Anitta, Lele Pons Skiing In Towels ... Amid Single Life

Published | Updated

Mauricio Umansky seems to be enjoying life as a single man ... 'cause he was having the time of his life on the ski slopes with singer Anitta and YouTuber Lele Pons.

Mauricio said, "Some fun [Shenanigans] about to occur," in a video uploaded on his social media Wednesday, showing off the ladies with big smiles in Aspen -- telling folks he's Anitta and Lele's videographer and to go to their socials to check out the fun.

Well, Anitta shared some BTS clips of her and Lele stripping off their snow gear and donning a towel instead ... with Mauricio filming the whole thing.

Looks like the girls decided to head down the mountain while rocking just a towel and sipping on champagne, with Mauricio capturing it -- Anitta called him "the best videomaker."

Of course, Mauricio's snow fun comes as his ex, Kyle Richards, appears to be relaxing in Punta Mita, Mexico ... sharing a snap of her on the beach with the caption, "Sometimes we just need to escape reality for a bit."

Typically, Kyle and Mauricio do Aspen together, and the fact they're not this year seems like a significant event in their nearly 6-months of separation.

Now, Mauricio's hijinks with influencers might be just that -- Lele is married, and Anitta's been linked to music producer Murda Beatz.

On the other hand ... 53-year-old Mauricio was also spotted having dinner with 33-year-old influencer Alexandria Wolfe in Aspen just a couple of days ago, and she is single. Whatever's going on, the guy's really enjoying his time on the mountain.

Tiffany Haddish Pleads Not Guilty in L.A. DUI Case

Tiffany Haddish has pleaded not guilty in her L.A. DUI case -- mirroring her plea to the same charge out in Georgia.

The comedian was arraigned Wednesday, where she entered "not guilty" pleas to two counts brought by the L.A. County District Attorney's Office -- driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a .08% BAC.

TIFFANY IN CUFFS

TMZ broke the story ... TH was arrested in Beverly Hills last month, when cops claim they found her asleep at the wheel -- with her car partially blocking the road.

Tiffany joked about it the day after in a stand-up comedy set, but now it looks like things are getting serious ... 'cause she pleaded not guilty to the charges here AND in Georgia, apparently signaling that she's gonna fight.

The Georgia case was actually supposed to go trial this month, but it's been postponed. In court docs for that case, Tiff has reportedly alleged the cops there in GA conducted an unlawful search of her vehicle ... and she's also asked that her blood test result not be allowed as evidence.

In the meantime, another court battle looms ... or so it seems, anyway.

Taraji P. Henson I'm Way Underpaid In Hollywood ... And I'm Tired of This Crap!!!

TIRED OF MISTREATMENT

Taraji P. Henson is tired of working her butt off in Hollywood and being paid a fraction of what she feels she's worth ... getting emotional over what she says is a huge pay gap.

The actress broke down in tears when asked if she was seriously considering quitting acting, telling Gayle King she feels uncertain about her on-screen career, and money's the main factor.

Taraji says she's still being underpaid for big movie roles despite being a well-established and super famous actress ... reaching a boiling point.

The way Taraji explains it ... even if she's paid $10 million for a movie, she won't see anywhere near that when the dust settles ... taxes take a huge chunk and then she's got to break off a bunch of money for her team.

Taraji says ... "the math ain't mathin" .... and it sounds like this has been an issue for her going back a while now.

In her interview with Gayle, in which she's plugging her new movie "The Color Purple," Taraji recalls her contract for 'Benjamin Button' ... she says she was asking for $500,000 and was only paid $100,000.

Taraji's gone on to do tons of movies and win awards, but she says every time she thinks she's broken through, she's humbled at the negotiating table.

It's an emotional conversation ... and Taraji is not alone in this boat in Hollywood.

George Clooney Opens Up About Matthew Perry's Death ... He Was Unhappy On 'Friends'

Published | Updated

George Clooney is speaking out publicly about the death of Matthew Perry ... saying the actor wasn't happy on the set of his hit sitcom, "Friends."

Clooney sat for an interview published Tuesday in Deadline to promote his new film, "The Boys In the Boat," -- and he opened up about his relationship with Perry dating back to the '90s when they first met and played paddle ball together.

At the time, Perry was 16 and searching for success, desperately trying to get on a sitcom. Clooney described Perry as a "great, funny, funny, funny kid."

One day, Clooney said he was chatting with Perry, who told him, "I just want to get on a regular sitcom and I would be the happiest man on earth."

Perry got his wish, scoring a leading role as Chandler Bing on "Friends," which Clooney noted was "probably one of the best ever" TV shows.

Yet, Perry still wasn’t happy, Clooney said, because it "didn’t bring him joy or happiness or peace."

Back then, the two stars worked on the Warner Brothers lot next to each other -- and Clooney recalled it was "hard to watch" Perry because "we didn't know what was going through him."

Clooney insisted he had no idea Perry was popping 12 Vicodin a day and "all the stuff he talked about, all that heartbreaking stuff."

Clooney added that money and success do not automatically translate into happiness, explaining, "You have to be happy with yourself and your life."

As you know ... Perry died of "the acute effects of ketamine," a drug used to treat depression and is sometimes taken recreationally. The L.A. Coroner found several contributing factors: drowning, coronary artery disease, and buprenorphine effects. Buprenorphine is used to ween addicts off opioids.

In October, Perry was discovered unresponsive in his hot tub after his personal assistant returned to his L.A. area home after running errands. Perry was declared dead after first responders tried unsuccessfully to revive him.

Mayim Bialik Strikes Showed Sony ... 'Jeopardy!' Fine with One Host

Published | Updated

Mayim Bialik stepping away from "Jeopardy!" in solidarity with striking writers showed Sony executives they didn't need 2 hosts for the quiz show, and that's why they moved on ... TMZ has learned.

Sony Studios sources tell TMZ ... bosses at Sony weren't mad when Mayim refused to work during this year's strike, but her absence opened execs' eyes about their dual host system -- Mayim and Ken Jennings shared the gig.

Our sources say Mayim stepping away gave Ken an opportunity ... and he took it and ran with it, improving his hosting skills while she was away.

We're also told Sony worked incredibly hard juggling schedules to accommodate Mayim during her time on the show, and she didn't always agree with production decisions ... including the hiring of executive producer Michael Davies, and other staff changes.

Mayim stepped away in May at the height of the writers' strike, and our sources say she eventually fell so far out of touch, Sony execs simply decided to press on without her.

As we reported ... Mayim announced Friday she was no longer hosting "Jeopardy!"

Our sources say Sony is still open to having Mayim host "Jeopardy!" primetime specials, because they feel she's talented and works well with the celebrity contestants ... but we're told Mayim made it clear it was all or nothing. As a result, we're told Sony brass declined and Mayim released her statement Friday without consulting Sony.

Regardless, our sources say the ball is still in Mayim's court ... we're told Sony execs want her for primetime specials, if she accepts the offer.

Stay tuned ...

Jussie Smollett Reading Matt Perry's Memoir ... Amid Rehab Stint

Published | Updated

Jussie Smollett is taking in Matthew Perry's memoir while he continues to seek help for substance abuse ... some interesting reading material during a rocky time in his life.

The former "Empire" star was photographed Monday in Studio City, CA -- where he was sitting by himself and perusing the pages of Perry's 2022 NYT Bestseller, "Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing: A Memoir" ... which detailed the late actor's struggles with addiction.

Jussie had a laptop with him as well, and he was also spotted using his phone during this outing ... but it seems like he was mostly preoccupied with going through the memoir.

Of course, Jussie himself is in rehab at the moment ... this after checking himself into an outpatient treatment facility in October.

His substance use was touched on quite a bit throughout his criminal trial in Chicago -- which, BTW, has come back to rear its ugly head.

Remember, he recently lost his appeal after being convicted for lying to cops about the hate crime attack he claimed was carried out on him ... and the rest of his jail sentence looms.

No word on when, exactly, he might have to surrender himself to the authorities to resume his 150 days -- but assuming he continues to fight this ... it could be a while. In the meantime, he's absorbing words of wisdom.

Mike Rotunda Emotional Over Bray Wyatt's Death ... 'Miss Him Every Day'

MISSING HIM DEARLY

Bray Wyatt's dad, Mike Rotunda, is opening up on his constant grief following the late WWE Superstar's tragic death ... saying life without his son has been nothing short of a "nightmare."

Rotunda -- who was famous in his own right as a wrestler for decades, most notably as Irwin R. Schuster -- joined the "Wrasslin Talk with Mayor McCall" podcast to discuss Wyatt (real name Windham Rotunda) ... and, understandably, he's still struggling to come to terms with the loss.

"It's been really hard," Rotunda said. "We miss him every day."

"[My kids] would come with me and stay on the road, wherever I was wrestling ... and it's so hard to wake up out of this nightmare and he's still not there."

Rotunda explained Windham was supposed to get married to his partner, Jojo, recently ... making it an especially challenging time for his family.

Rotunda praised WWE for helping his family by giving Windham a Legends contract among other gestures ... which will allow his four children to receive financial help from merchandise sales.

"He was a jolly fellow," Rotunda continued. "He loved to laugh, he was loud, always laughing and he lit up a room. He lit up the wrestling business. People come up to me and have a story with Windham and say, 'He took the time to sit there and bulls*** with me for 10 or 15 minutes when he's supposed to be signing autographs.' So many people come up and support him by wearing Windham's stuff, and they have a story about him. He was that kind of person."

As we previously reported, Windham -- who experienced heart complications leading up to his death -- passed away while taking a nap at his home in August.

He was just 36 years old.

Matthew Perry Death Ketamine M.D. Says Don't Blame the Ketamine ... Still an Effective Treatment

Published | Updated

Matthew Perry's death being pinned on ketamine by the Coroner is misleading, and puts the drug in a bad light -- so says an M.D. who's prescribed it to his own patients.

Dr. Zaid Fadul -- the Medical Director at BetterU and an expert in addiction medicine -- tells TMZ ... the L.A. County Coroner Office's finding last week that Perry died from the acute effects of ketamine doesn't really explain how he died ... at least in his professional opinion.

Yes, ketamine happened to be in Matt's system at the time of his death -- and might have been the reason he dozed off in his hot tub ... but obviously, the "Friends" actor drowned.

Dr. Fadul's point here is ... any kind of drug that spurs sedation would've likely had the same effect, and he feels like blaming MP's tragic passing on ketamine alone -- without this context -- isn't fair, and that might deter people from seeking it out as a viable option.

Now, on the issue of whether Perry had used ketamine the day he died or not -- Dr. Fadul has a theory on that as well. According to him, Matt was likely experienced with ketamine and was taking ever-increasing doses, which might've left some residual.

He adds, that residual amount could've been super high, if Matt had a high tolerance to the drug and was taking high doses. He also believes Perry wasn't only taking ketamine through an IV.

Remember, the coroner's report on Perry's cause of death noted he'd been involved in ketamine infusion therapy in the months leading up to this -- but pointed out he'd been weaning off of it thanks to a new doctor who found he didn't need as much these days.

102923_mathew_perry_house-kal 10/28/23
INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY

Ketamine is often used as a treatment for depression and anxiety, which is why Matt had been taking it ... but because his ketamine levels were so elevated when he died, it's unclear Matt was taking it therapeutically or recreationally.

The implication from the report seems to be pointing to the latter. Dr. Fadul, though, isn't so sure that's accurate.

In any case, the bigger picture the good doctor is trying to communicate is ketamine can be effective, and has been in his experience. He believes there is no one solution that works for everyone and you want to give people options. Ketamine just needs to be taken safely and in the right environment -- and he feels Matt's situation can serve as a cautionary tale.
