TMZ has learned Gov. Bill Richardson personally performed the ceremony Tuesday at the Governor's mansion -- at the request of the happy couple.

A rep for the politician tells us it was "the first time that Governor Richardson has performed a wedding ceremony." So far, we're told, the reviews have been good.

Harrison and Calista had been dating for almost 8 years.

We got the tip from Lisa Stanley at K-Earth 101 in L.A. and just confirmed it ourselves.

We're told the couple was married in the Governor's mansion in Santa Fe. Their marriage license was filed Wednesday in the County Clerk's Office.

Harrison and Calista have been together for almost 8 years, and got engaged over Valentine's weekend in 2009.

Harrison is filming "Cowboys and Aliens" in New Mexico right now.

The engaged twosome hit up Koi in L.A. on Wednesday, where after they battled through the storm of camera flashes, they enjoyed their "first dinner outside the show."
