John Walsh Sued for Calling Inmate a 'Snitch'

Published | Updated

A convicted murderer who was attacked in prison for allegedly being labeled a "snitch" on "America's Most Wanted" has fired off one of the most unbelievable lawsuits we've ever seen -- he's demanding $506 MILLION.

In the lawsuit -- handwritten, but looking like it was typed up on a computer -- Kirell Taylor claims he was stuck in Folsom Prison -- with a razor blade -- after his fellow inmates were told "AMW" host John Walsh, "falsely" called him a "snitch" during a 2004 episode which aired on FOX.

Taylor claims the word "snitch" isn't something that inmates take kindly to -- and now he claims Walsh and Rupert Murdoch, the guy who owns FOX, should fork over a total of $506,000,000 for giving him the title that got him shanked with an "inmate manufactured weapon."

In the suit, filed Tuesday in L.A. County Superior Court, Taylor demands that FOX re-air the 2004 episode -- with Walsh personally "recanting the false statements."

He probably doesn't stand a chance in court -- but we'll give him a 'A+' for penmanship.

'Gossip Girl' Mom Granted Restraining Order

Published | Updated

TMZ has learned Kelly Rutherford was granted a temporary restraining order against her ex Daniel Giersch.

According to documents filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Kelly claims Daniel has repeatedly harassed both her and their nanny -- which she claims forced the nanny to quit.

The documents list Giersch as 39-years-old, white, and "thin."

Geirsch must stay 100 yards away from Kelly, her mother, the nanny, and Kelly's home, job and vehicle -- "except for brief & peaceful contact as required for court-ordered visitation."

In the docs, it says "Daniel has begun to follow me, my mother, my nanny and he shows up unexpectedly to threaten and scare us."

Kelly also claims Daniel "has harassed [my nanny] with questions about me virtually every time he sees her ... last week Daniel's harassment of [the nanny] led to an actual threat that he is going to file a lawsuit against her."

After that, Kelly says the nanny handed in her pink slip, causing her two kids -- Hermes and Helena -- to lose someone they "love and trust."

Randy Quaid and his wife Evi were just arrested in Marfa, Texas, TMZ has learned.

UPDATE: We're told it was Evi who verbally and physically assaulted the officer -- she was eventually wrestled onto the hood of the cop car.

Brody Jenner's GF Sues Joe Francis For $1 Mil

Published | Updated

Jayde Nicole, Brody Jenner's girlfriend, has just filed a lawsuit against Joe Francis, alleging assault and battery.

Nicole claims in her suit, "In an intoxicated and uncontrollable rage, defendant Francis, who weighs over 200 lbs, physically attacked plaintiff Nicole, approximately 115 lbs, by pulling on her hair from behind to gain maximum control over her person and then violently shoving and/or throwing her to the ground of the nightclub like a rag-doll."

Nicole claims she suffered all sorts of injuries from the fight, including a "black-eye, swollen face, bruised ribs, sore and bruised abdomen region, bruised arms and legs, ripped-out hair, and utter emotional distress and humiliation."

She's suing for $1 million plus punitive damages.

UPDATE: TMZ has just received the following statement from Joe Francis:

"Jayde Nicole is an absolute and total liar. Her prior statements about the incident are not only slanderous and defamatory, but actionable.

It is so interesting that Jayde Nicole would hire the same attorney (Ron Richards) who represented the double murderer who kidnapped me from my Bel Air mansion at gunpoint in 2004, for which he is now serving 11 years.

The only thing that Jayde Nicole is famous for is having a tattoo of the word "respect" above her vagina ... for which we all know she has none of."

Francis added, "Jayde have you seen a picture of me lately? I'm 175 lbs. soaking wet."

Richard Pryor's Kids -- Wait, We Have a Trust?

Published | Updated

Richard Pryor's two children say they were never told their late father set up a trust for them -- and now they're going after a guy they say should have spilled the beans.

Steven and Kelsey Pryor filed court documents on Tuesday against Robert Philpott -- the guy Richard appointed to watch over the trust -- claiming he hid the existence of the trust from them after their father's death in 2005.

In the papers, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Pryor's kids say they were forced to figure out the existence of the trust on their own -- and are worried Philpott "wrongfully took, concealed, or disposed of assets" during that time.

The trust was initially created in 1988, when Richard divorced their mother for the first time (they divorced again in 1992).

The Pryors are asking the court for any assets Philpott may have pilfered from the trust ... and they want him 86'd as trustee.

UPDATE: Sept. 25, 6:08 PM ET A spokesman for Bob Philpott told TMZ, "This is a ridiculous, absurd and meritless lawsuit. Mr. Philpott has had nothing to do with Richard Pryor and his trust for more than 15 years when he stopped working for Mr. Pryor as his business manager. At that time, he resigned as trustee from all of Mr. Pryor's trust and all of the files and documents for Mr. Pryor were transferred to the client as was requested."

Mr. Chow -- Violent Imposter is Stealing My Biz

Published | Updated

Mr. Chow claims his employees have been getting violent threats from a Mr. Chow impostor -- and it's all part of an alleged nation-wide conspiracy to steal business from the world famous Chinese food king.

Michael Chow -- the real Mr. Chow -- has filed a new lawsuit against a dude named Chak Yam Chau ... a former "food chopper"' who spent 25 years working at Chow's famous New York restaurant.

"Real" Chow claims "fake" Chau left Mr. Chow in 2005 to start his own restaurant in New York, which he named "Phillipe Chow" -- allegedly using the "Chow" name to dupe potential customers.

But now Chau is trying to open a restaurant in West Hollywood -- right near Chow's famous Beverly Hills location -- and Chow claims things are starting to get really nasty. "Real" Chow claims "fake" Chau's people have been waging an all out war to steal business, and suspects they have used the following tactics:

-- sending a spy -- disguised as a chef -- through a Mr. Chow kitchen to take photos
-- making "large group reservations for no-shows"
-- making "bogus calls purporting to place vast and expensive take-out orders which are never picked up"
-- making harassing phone calls to Mr. Chow employees
-- threatening Mr. Chow employees with violence
-- trying to steal contracted employees by offering unfair compensation
-- smashing the glass door at Chow's Beverly Hills restaurant
-- defacing paint on a Mr. Chow sign

"Real" Chow is suing for more than $10 million -- and demanding that L.A. County Superior Court forces the "fake" Chau to stop implying that he is affiliated with Mr. Chow in any capacity.

Ciao.

Randy Quaid -- Cops Say He's Done this Before

Published | Updated

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe Randy and Evi Quaid have a pattern of staying in pricey hotels and stiffing the joints when they leave .. and that's why authorities are trying to nail the Quaids for burglary.

There's an arrest warrant out for the Quaids for allegedly stiffing the San Ysidro Ranch near Santa Barbara out of thousands of bucks. Our sources say the reason there's a burglary warrant out for them is because cops believe when they rented the hotel room they had the intention of staying without paying -- and that fits the definition of burglary.

Our law enforcement sources tell us the reason they believe the Quaids were scamming the San Ysidro Ranch from the get-go is because they have evidence they've done it before. Our sources say the Quaids stiffed the uber-ritzy Bel Air Hotel in L.A., among other places.

In addition to burglary, the arrest warrant also lists the felony of defrauding an innkeeper.

We have been unable to reach Quaid.

UPDATE: Conspiracy is also listed on the Quaids' arrest warrants -- their bail is set at $20,000 each.

When Lamar Met Khloe ... And It Cost Him $3,000

Published | Updated

"The way to a man's heart is through his stomach" ... and the way to a Kardashian's heart is apparently through her liver.

TMZ has learned exactly how the love story between Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom began -- and it all started with a bar tab around $3,000.

It all went down on August 27th, when Khloe was hosting a "Welcome to LA" party for brand new Laker, Ron Artest, at Halo in Hollywood.

Khloe ran up one hell of a bill that night ... and for some reason, Lamar decided to cover the whole thing -- after all, cash money is the ultimate aphrodisiac.

A source extremely close to Khloe confirmed the whole story, telling us, "At first, she wasn't going to do the event ... but she literally met her husband there. And yes, he paid for everything."

And there's no question -- Lamar definitely got what he paid for. For the record, K and L will be tying the knot exactly one month after they hit it off!

Alleged Travolta Extortionists Haggled on Video

Published | Updated

Secret police videos have captured the alleged extortionists in the John Travolta case in deep conflict ... with one defendant accusing the other of trying to settle way too cheap -- this according to law enforcement sources.

As we first reported yesterday, authorities have at least two videos of paramedic Tarino Lightbourne and attorney Pleasant Bridgewater demanding millions of dollars from John Travolta's lawyers, in return for not making a document public.

Our sources say Bridgewater is caught on tape demanding many millions of dollars, but another video shows Lightbourne outraged that Bridgewater demanded what he considered such a paltry sum. His demand was exponentially higher than hers, law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

We're told the videos show them haggling over money -- and although it's been reported the pair allegedly demanded $25 million, we're told they finally agreed to $15 mil.

We're also told lawyers for Bridgewater and Lightbourne will make a motion today to suppress the videos, on grounds they were illegally recorded.

And there's a sticky problem -- we're told one of the key Bahamian cops in the video sting was seriously injured "under suspicious circumstances" and is unable to testify.

Travolta has not finished testifying. We're told he has left the Bahamas and will return next week to complete his testimony.

Kanye: Justice Delayed is the Best Justice Ever

Published | Updated

Kanye West is feeling the legal heat over his VMA rant ... because there was a quiet, clever move last week to keep his criminal case out of court until all the hubbub dies down.

Kanye is being prosecuted for breaking a paparazzi camera at LAX on September 11, 2008. The L.A. City Attorney has charged him with 3 misdemeanors -- vandalism, theft and battery.

We've learned last Friday, Kanye's lawyer, Blair Berk, went to the judge and won a delay -- a pre-trial hearing was set for this month but it's now pushed back until October 23 -- hopefully for Kanye, when attention deficit disorder sets in and the public moves on to another celebrity meltdown.

Here's the problem ... even the mighty Blair Berk can't stop Kanye. The question: Can she contain him?
