Mos Def Tokyo No-Show Talent Booker Sues
Mos Def bailed on 3 shows in Japan and now the company that booked him is going after the people who struck the deal.
Light House says it booked Mos Def for two back-to-back concerts in Tokyo last September, plus a festival gig a few days later. The booking company claims to have signed a contract with Def's agents Rahman Prescott-Bey and Khalil Bey.
Light House says it paid $35k -- half of the $70k total for all 3 gigs -- months in advance, but Mos Def was a no-show in the end.
The rapper was arrested a few months later when leaving South Africa for using a "world passport" after his visa expired ... so it's possible he was having travel issues.
Light House is suing for their $35k back plus damages.

Alanis Morissette Business Manager Allegedly Screwed Her Out of Millions
Alanis Morissette was fleeced to the tune of $4.7 million by her famous business manager ... so claims the company where the manager worked, claiming he used the money to fund a lavish and glitzy lifestyle.
GSO Business Management claims Jonathan Schwartz, one of its business managers, took on Alanis as a client, in addition to other famous entertainers including Beyonce and Mariah Carey. According to the lawsuit, Alanis dumped Schwartz in 2016 and hired a new manager, who began investigating where her money went.
The suit claims $4.7 million could not be accounted for, and GSO confronted Schwartz, who told this story ... Alanis told him to withdraw the money so she could invest in a marijuana growing business and he obliged by giving the money to her reps. GSO says his story didn't check out. The suit says Alanis vehemently denies she ever asked Schwartz to invest in the pot biz.
The suit claims Schwartz stole the money to support an opulent lifestyle, including a $50,000 vacation to Bora Bora and paying off a $75,000 gambling debt at a casino in the Bahamas.
The lawsuit doesn't mention Alanis by name -- it just refers to a "former client" -- but sources connected with the singer tell us she's the victim.
According to the suit, Alanis threatened to sue GSO and it wants Schwartz to pay any judgment. Since he was a partner the firm needs a court order, which it is seeking, to kick him out of the firm.
The firm insists Schwartz was acting on his own and was a "disgrace." GSO says Schwartz went rogue and acted on his own, without the firm's knowledge or consent.

Bill Cosby Celebs Blacklisted by Insurance Companies Because of 'Cosby Effect'
Bill Cosby has made it next to impossible for entertainers and athletes to get insurance companies to write them adequate policies protecting them from lawsuits.
Various well connected sources in the insurance industry tell us, the flood of accusations and lawsuits against Cosby has scared insurance companies, which now realize the comedian's insurance company may have to pay out tens of millions of dollars to his alleged victims.
It all centers around umbrella policies ... which allow people to get massive supplements to their homeowners and auto policies. Celebs with lots of money often get umbrella policies that will cover $20 million to $30 million in lawsuit judgments.
We're told in recent years insurance companies have been reluctant to write umbrella policies for high-profile people -- especially athletes. Our sources say it goes beyond celebs who commit misdeeds. Insurance companies know high-profile people have become targets for people who just want to make a quick buck.
"The Cosby Effect" has now made it next to impossible for entertainers, athletes and other people who have fame and fortune.

Blac Chyna My Creamy Cakes Haul in Major Dough
Blac Chyna had a serious moneymaker on display for her 28th birthday party at a Miami strip club -- and we ain't talking about her ass.
Her 4-tier cake came fresh out of Dollface Delight Cakery in Miami, and we've learned biz is booming at the bakery since the high-profile gig at G5ive. Owners, and sisters, Raquel and Christina Basil tell us they whipped up their creation in 16 hours, but the hard work has paid off -- they've gotten nearly double their usual orders.
Who knew cake lovers hang at strip clubs on the reg?
The sisters say BC's cake would normally cost between $1,100-$1,300, but they only charged $500 since only the giant gold ribbon and the bottom tier were edible. Delicious buttercream cake, btw. Best of all ... BC actually got to have her cake and eat it too, since she's got a little Kardashian on the way. No word if Rob Kardashian took a cheat day.

Death Row Records Big Rappers Screwed Out of Millions in Bankruptcy
-
EXCLUSIVE
The bankruptcy of Death Row Records is over ... the person handling the case has submitted a final report, and one of the artists left holding the bag is none other than Snoop Dogg, who just got screwed out of $2 million.
According to legal docs, obtained by TMZ, some famous rappers filed claims with the court, asking for millions they say were owed. Almost no one got a dime. Among the losers ...
-- Dr. Dre ... $8 million
-- Nate Dogg ... $5 million
-- Tupac ... $900,000
And this is astounding ... Death Row's founder, Suge Knight, claimed he was owed a staggering $144 MILLION.
The only one that ended up with any money is the estate of Tupac's mom, Afeni, which got around $75k. It might get another $57k.
The only ones who made out like bandits are the lawyers and others who processed the case for Death Row ... they got a grand total of $8.3 mil.
The final report has to be signed by a judge, but that is almost always just a rubber stamp.
