MTV is pulling the plug on "Ridiculousness" after 14 years, but don't feel bad for host Rob Dyrdek ... he says he's entering a new era.

According to Rob, the week his show is ending, is the same week he's launching his "magnum opus" -- a new "time intelligence platform" called Existence.

The 51-year-old former professional skateboarder called the cancelation "divine timing" in a video posted to X.

Chanel West Coast is weighing in on "Ridiculousness" getting the ax -- telling us MTV should’ve kept it rolling a few more seasons since the world's currently going through so much negativity right now.

We caught up with Chanel and her pal Tori ... and she told us with all the chaos going on in the world, "Ridiculousness" was pure escapism ... with fans reaching out over the years, thanking her and the crew for bringing laughs when they needed them most.

MTV has officially pulled the plug on "Ridiculousness" ... ending one of the longest-running series in the network's history ... TMZ has learned.

Sources familiar tell TMZ ... the decision was relayed to the cast and crew this week, with everyone informed the current season will be the show's last. We're told the shocking announcement came straight from the network's top brass.

The show went dark in July and was supposed to come back in January ... but instead, TMZ has learned, previously produced first-run episodes will continue to air on MTV through 2026, but no more original episodes will be produced.

Finally, our long national nightmare is over ... Kristin Cavallari and Lauren Conrad are on good terms after the "Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County" reunion ... an experience Kristin dished about on her podcast.

Kristin announced, "Lauren and I are friends," on Tuesday's episode of "Let's Be Honest with Kristin Cavallari."
