Caitlyn Jenner chose her name after being inspired by the Miss America pageant.

Caitlyn told Vanity Fair she had been watching the pageant in the last couple of years to come up with ideas for names. Two names resonated with her -- Heather and Cathy.

It sounds like Heather and Cathy were front-runners but she also liked Caitlyn. Ultimately, Caitlyn's assistant Rhonda tipped the scales when she suggested Caitlyn.

Caitlyn Jenner did not want to look like a pretend woman when she transitioned from a man to a woman.

Caitlyn told Vanity Fair it was extremely important that she presented herself as feminine.

Beyond cosmetics, Caitlyn talks about the isolation she felt in the '80s, and how the Internet became her salvation because it provided a connection with people in similar circumstances.

Kim Richards has just lost 2 of the most important people in her life, because we've learned her sister Kyle and husband Mauricio Umansky have washed their hands of her ... ironically, to save her.

Sources connected with the family tell TMZ, Kim stayed in Mexico after her daughter's wedding and was perpetually wasted. We're told in the last few days, Kyle and Mauricio had a security guard fly down to Cabo and literally force Kim onto an airplane where she returned home to L.A.

Our sources say Kim has promised to re-enter rehab, but it's not flying with Kyle and Mauricio. We're told they feel they have done what they can do to save Kim, and the only thing left is tough love.

So, Kim is no longer their problem. If she ends up on the streets, then that's what has to happen. We're told things are so bad, Kyle and Mauricio feel Kim is actually in danger of dying. But they believe the only hope is for her to realize they will not be her safety net to constantly bail her out.

President Obama has weighed in on Caitlyn Jenner's new journey, by heaping praise on her.

The Prez just tweeted, "It takes courage to share your story," adding, "Your story matters in the fight for LGBT rights."

It's the biggest reveal of 2015 for sure ... Bruce Jenner as a woman, and the pic is dramatic.

The name's now Caitlyn. She posed for the cover of Vanity Fair's July issue and it was shot by famed celeb photographer Annie Leibovitz.

It's interesting the name is spelled with a C and not a K ... possibly a break from the Kardashian Klan.

Caitlyn just opened a Twitter account, saying, "I'm so happy after such a long struggle to be living my true self. Welcome to the world Caitlyn. Can't wait for you to get to know her/me."

We're told Caitlyn chose an extremely sexy, revealing outfit because now that the public's curiosity is satisfied, it will not be a shock when she goes out in normal streetwear.

Kim Kardashian will be giving birth this winter ... because TMZ has learned she is three months pregnant.

According to our sources, Kim conceived some time in March ... which means she should be popping out a little West in December.

In Sunday night's "Keeping Up With the Kardashians," psychic John Edward told Kim he saw something with the number three, but wasn't sure what it meant. We're told Kim's a believer and thinks it means getting pregnant the third month of the year.

As for the mother-to-be, Kim was seen out Sunday afternoon in New York City.

North West is going to be a big sister ... Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are expecting baby #2.

After struggling to conceive, Kim made the big announcement Sunday night during "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."

Josh Dugger has become a target in the Navy.

Turns out there's a guy named Josh Dugger who is a Chief Cryptologist Technician in the United States Navy. He's based in Virginia, not that far from the other Josh Duggar who's based in D.C.

Navy Josh tells us the scandal has created all sorts of problems for him. For starters, his colleagues just won't let it go, to the point of harassment.

But the real abuse is coming from social media. His account has been overrun by haters, saying things like "You should be in jail." He says he's had to switch all the handles on his accounts.

Funny enough, Navy Josh -- who's married to Amy and has 2 daughters -- comes from a big family himself -- 9 kids, but not counting anymore.

TLC has clearly put a muzzle on its stable of stars, because mere mention of the Duggar molestation scandal sends its celebs -- big and small -- running for cover.

Our photog spotted the stars of "The Little Couple" in NYC and tried asking about the story, but the TLC handler was having none of it.

We're told JJ and Clint frequently took advantage of the mansion's communal shower ... and bro'd down with soap and suds. Yes, they drank beers together ... IN THE SHOWER.

We're told that's what led producers to ask the guys strategic questions ... intended to build up the 'Brokeback' plot. As we told you, JJ and Clint are getting a kick out of all the attention they're getting now.

It’s all fun and games until the hot water runs out.

One of the stars of Discovery's "Dual Survival" injured or killed a dog on the set during the final episode ... this according to multiple sources connected with the production.

Our sources say Joe Teti, a former Green Beret, was shooting one of the final scenes when some stray cats ran across the set ... apparently fleeing from a dog. We're told the dog actually got one of the cats in its jaws, and that's when Teti went after the canine.

We can't get a straight story from the various sources, although everyone agrees at the very least Teti injured the dog while saving the cat. But some of the sources say he killed the animal.

One source says Teti has been a problem in the past, but they say it's not limited to him. As one source put it, "These survivalists all have a screw loose."

The show had already been cancelled, and we're told the dog incident made people at Discovery feel even more comfortable about their decision to pull the plug.

West Hollywood's most famous gay bar is ready for even more exposure ... and we're not talking about the dancers in banana hammocks -- The Abbey is getting its own reality TV show.

Sources tell TMZ a production company is currently developing a series that focuses on the fabulous employees of The Abbey -- a two-time winner of LOGO's “Best Gay Bar In The World" award, by the way.

We’re told shoot dates haven't been set yet -- so no rush to reserve a table -- but the production company already has a network lined up to air the show.

"Teen Mom 2" star Jenelle Evans has decided to face the music and turn herself in to police in South Carolina amid allegations she beat up her baby daddy.

Evans showed up to the Myrtle Beach Police Department -- with a few camera guys in tow -- Thursday afternoon after her ex-fiancé Nathan Griffith filed a police report claiming Evans punched, kicked, scratched and tried to choke him.

Evans was charged with domestic violence and is currently being processed. She got a shiny new mug shot to add to her collection.

Evan was released Thursday afternoon.
