RIP

Pat Harrington Jr. -- best known for playing Schneider on "One Day at a Time" -- died Wednesday. He was 86.

According to his daughter Tessa, Harrington was surrounded by family when he passed. No cause of death was disclosed.

Harrington played building super Dwayne Schneider on the classic sitcom from 1975 to 1984.

Most recently he appeared on an episode of "Hot in Cleveland."

Nicholas Caldwell, a founding member of "The Whispers" whose hits included "Rock Steady" has died ... he was 71 years old.

The group's manager tells TMZ Caldwell was found Tuesday night by his wife at their home in Stockton, CA. We're told Nicholas has had heart problems in the past and had a pacemaker inserted about a year ago but it's unclear at this point exactly what led to his death.

Caldwell had also taken a break from the group over the last year to get better in hopes of returning to the stage with the group's other three members.

The Whispers started in 1963 and the group's other hits included "And The Beat Goes On" and "It Just Gets Better With Time."

Riley Martin, one of the hosts on Howard Stern's Sirius XM channel -- and a regular on his main show -- has died at 69.

Riley's longtime producer, Eron, tells us Martin passed away in Bethlehem, PA a few days before Christmas. Martin famously claimed the Biaviian alien race abducted him several times. He stuck to his guns about that every time Howard, or anyone else, grilled him about it.

Eron wouldn't say what caused the death, but on his Facebook page he'd recently mentioned being in the hospital battling an ongoing illness. Eron posted a FB message to fans, saying Riley wanted them to know he will see them again in the future.

The woman Scott Weiland divorced nearly 9 years ago, and often battled over his drug use, is asking the courts to name her the executor of his will ... TMZ has learned.

Mary Forsberg filed docs in L.A. saying Scott himself named her as executor, and she's filed a will with his signature as proof. Here's the catch ... the will was written in April 2007. That's right around the time Scott and Mary's marriage was falling apart, and when he was in the throes of addiction.

Mary wrote a memoir called 'Fall to Pieces' about life with Scott and his battles with drugs.

The docs say Scott had about $2 million in assets as part of his estate. He also created a trust during his lifetime that has undisclosed assets.

Scott's widow Jamie Wachtel was with him for 2 years before his death, and could still contest Forsberg's filing.

Country singer Craig Strickland survived the capsizing of his boat but died from exposure, and his wife believes the way his body was found has religious overtones.

Helen Strickland says her husband was able to make his way to shore after his boat capsized in a horrible storm. She says he "fought his way out of the water and up a hill."

According to Helen, Craig died from hypothermia, adding "They found him lying in the shape of a cross looking up to his Father." She goes on, "I know he found Jesus at that moment."

Helen says Craig did not suffer and did not feel pain ... he just fell asleep.

As we reported, Craig and buddy Chase Morland both died during a duck hunting trip.

Craig Strickland, the country singer who went missing December 27 on a duck hunting trip, is dead.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol Marine Enforcement Division found the 29-year-old's body Monday morning in an area called Bear Creek Cove.

Authorities did not give details on the cause or manner of death, but his friend Chase Morland -- with whom he went hunting -- also died. His body was found along with their capsized boat.

The two had been hunting in a severe storm. Chase tweeted before the trip, "In case we don't come back, @BackroadCRAIG and I are going right through Winter Storm Goliath to kill ducks in Oklahoma."

Craig was part of the band, Backroad Anthem.

Robert Stigwood, the famed music exec behind the Bee Gees, Cream and several huge movies and musicals ... has died.

Stigwood was the agent and manger for the Bee Gees as well as rock legends Cream before he went on to form RSO (Robert Stigwood Organisation). RSO produced famous musicals like "Hair" and "Jesus Christ Superstar."

His biggest success as a producer though would be the movies "Saturday Night Fever." Of course the soundtrack for that movie heavily featured the Bee Gees. He followed that up with the movie "Grease" in '78.

Robin Gibb's son went on Facebook to thank Stigwood for giving the Bee Gees their huge break.

Stigwood, a native Australian, was 81 years old. It's unclear, at this point, exactly how he died.

Jason Wingreen, who voiced the villain Boba Fett in "Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back" and played Harry the bartender on "All In The Family" has died.

Wingreen died at his home in L.A. on Christmas day according to a statement from his son.

Wingreen, who has almost 200 credits to his name also appeared on "The Twlight Zone," "Archie Bunker's Place" and "The Untouchables."

The Hollywood Reporter, which broke the story, said he died after a brief illness.

He was 95-years-old.

Wayne Rogers, who starred in "M*A*S*H" -- one of the most popular shows in TV history -- has died.

Rogers, who played Capt. "Trapper" John McIntyre on the iconic series, had a long, successful career. He appeared on may other programs, including "Murder She Wrote." But his run on "M*A*S*H" between 1972 - 75 cemented his legacy.

Rogers was also a very successful businessman, who started his own investment company and was a featured player on Fox New Channel's "Cashin' In."

Entertainment Tonight, which broke the story, says Rogers died from complication from pneumonia.

He was 82.

Guru Josh's manager thought he was picking up his client to take him to the airport Sunday morning ... but instead discovered the rave pioneer had committed suicide.

Sources close to Guru Josh tell TMZ ... he had been suffering from depression for some time and was feeling down over Christmas. We're told he decided to book a flight home to see his father.

Our sources say Guru Josh emailed his manager at 6 AM Sunday, asking him to come to his place at 11 AM. We're told when the manager arrived ... he discovered Josh's body.

We're told the family is at the mortuary now, taking care of burial arrangements.

LeBron James is getting a raw deal from activists demanding he boycott the season in protest ... that's according to ex-NBA player Jay Williams who says one man can't change the world alone.

James is being pressured to sit out NBA games until the Department of Justice investigates the shooting of Tamir Rice ... a 12-year-old Cleveland boy killed by police.

The hashtag #NoJusticeNoLeBron has caught fire on Twitter ... and when we got Jay arriving at LAX we asked him if it was fair that LBJ was getting all the heat.

Guru Josh -- who rose to fame in the rave world with the 1989 song "Infinity" -- died Monday in Ibiza. He was 51.

According to reports, he was found dead in an apartment he shared with his manager.

One report claims the DJ committed suicide, but thus far that is unconfirmed.

Guru Josh (real name Paul Walden) was born in the Channel Islands and moved to London before striking it big with "Infinity," which he released himself.

In 2008, the song was remixed and re-released and reached number 3 on the UK singles chart.

Lemmy Kilmister, the frontman from Motorhead, has died ... TMZ has confirmed.

We're told the singer passed away just around 4 PM Monday. He was diagnosed with a very aggressive form of cancer just 2 days ago.

It seems he died in his home while playing his favorite video game.

Lemmy's been battling serious health issues, forcing him to scale back on his alcohol and tobacco habits. He had been smoking for 57 years.

Lemmy was credited for starting the mutton chops craze back in the '70s.

The original Motorhead drummer, Phil Taylor, died just last month after a long illness.

Lemmy was 70 years old.

Medowlark Lemon, the most famous member of the Harlem Globetrotters, has died.

Lemon played for 22 years, beginning in the 1950s, when the team's popularity rivaled the NBA.

When he started with the team, black NBA payers were almost non-existent.

Lemon had a resurrection in 1972, with the show, "Scooby-Doo Meets the Harlem Globetrotters."

Medowlark was 83. RIP

11:45 AM PST -- Corey Feldman wrote on Twitter he's "very sad" about McCarter's death.

Brooke McCarter, who played Paul in "The Lost Boys," has died after a long-term illness.

The 52-year-old McCarter passed away Tuesday ... the result of complications from a genetic liver condition.

McCarter's acting career didn't take off after 'Lost Boys.' He made a name for himself as a regular at Horror Conventions around the country.

Toxicology testing shows Scott Weiland died from an overdose of several drugs and alcohol -- and his history of addiction also played a role.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner says the results show he OD'd on cocaine, MDA ... which is old school Ecstasy ... and booze.

It also shows heart disease and asthma were "significant" conditions. The test results also revealed Scott's "multi-substance dependence" was a factor.

As we first reported ... police also found Xanax, sleeping pills, Viagra, and meds to treat bipolar disorder on the bus -- but those drugs did not play a factor in his death.
