Ex-Mexico President Viva De La Hoya! ... You Can Be President!
Oscar De La Hoya just got his first MAJOR political endorsement -- with former Mexico president Vicente Fox telling TMZ Sports, "I'm with you all the way!!!"
"Breaking news! Oscar De La Hoya is running for President of the United States. Bravo Oscar! You will make it," Fox told us.
Technically, Oscar isn't running yet -- but he told TMZ earlier this week he was putting together an exploratory team to see if he could get enough support to make a serious run for the White House in 2020.
Enter Fox -- who was President of Mexico from 2000 to 2006 -- who strongly believes Oscar is the right man for the job.
"You are honored and respected all over the world. You are well known in California, supported by all which you've done. You are a fighter. You are a warrior. You do fight for human rights. You do protect and fight for Hispanics and Mexican Americans rights in the United States ... that's you, Oscar."
"I'm with you all the way. You will make it ... President or 'Future President of the United States.' Fight. Win. That country needs people like you."
Not everyone has been as supportive, with Eric Holder and Jim Gray scoffing at the idea of President De La Hoya.
But, Oscar insists he's serious ... and this might be just the support he needs to get things going.
Good luck!

Jim Gray Shades De La Hoya ... You Ain't Running For President!
Oscar De La Hoya has zero intentions to run for president and is only claiming he's serious about a campaign to try to drum up interest in his GGG-Canelo fight ... so says Jim Gray.
We broke the story ... ODLH told us he's really exploring the idea of becoming president one day because he wants to have a bigger platform to use his voice.
When we got Gray -- a Showtime boxing host -- out at LAX and asked about Oscar's potential candidacy ... Gray was hardly buying it.
"Really? Come on," Gray tells us.
"I think he's trying to promote his fight. I think his fight may not be doing as well as he's hoping. So, he's trying to bring attention. So, what better way to get attention than to say, 'I want to run for president?'"
You be the judge ... does this sound like a man who's lying?!

Secret Service So, Carole Cook ... What'd You Mean by 'Where's John Wilkes Booth When You Need Him?'
The Secret Service wants to hear from the veteran TV star who thinks it would be a good idea for someone to "John Wilkes Booth" President Trump.
Sources connected with the Agency tell TMZ, Carole Cook's comments to our photog when she left Craig's restaurant Sunday night were enough to trigger an official inquiry.
Our photog asked Cook -- a famous Broadway actress who also appeared on "Dynasty," "Cagney & Lacey" and "Sixteen Candles" -- what she thought about Trump, and she replied, "Where's John Wilkes Booth when you need him?" When our guy asked if she meant Trump should be assassinated she responded, "Why not?"
Our sources say the Secret Service saw our post and are concerned enough that they want a chit chat with the 94-year-old actress. They were quick to add it's not an official investigation -- just due diligence. If the interview unearths anything ominous, only then would it become an official investigation.
Officially the Agency says, "The Secret Service is aware of the comment. While we do not confirm or comment on the absence or existence of specific investigations, we can say we investigate all threats against the President."

Oscar De La Hoya I Might Run for President! ... Seriously!
SEPTEMBER 2018
President Oscar De La Hoya?!?!
Don't scoff -- the boxing legend says he's "very seriously" considering running for the highest office in the land ... and he's already putting together an exploratory team.
"I am actually very, very serious and I strongly feel that if a Kanye West can do it and announce and maybe tease the world that he would maybe one day wanna run for president, why not me?"
Obviously, Oscar has no experience as an elected politician -- but as ODLH pointed out on "TMZ Live," neither did Donald Trump.
So, what convinced Oscar to explore politics?
"I've had literally, over the years, ever since I became a professional in boxing, I've had millions of people tell me, 'Look, why don't you represent? Why don't you stand up and have a bigger voice?' And obviously, the biggest voice you can have is being president."
Oscar says if his exploratory team comes back with good numbers, he'll make it official and begin his campaign.
And, if you're wondering, Oscar says he believes strongly in standing for the national anthem.
But before he goes on the campaign trail, Oscar's got another major event in his life -- he's promoting the big Canelo vs. GGG rematch on Sept. 15th.

Omarosa I Got Trump on Tape ... Pointing Collusion Finger at Hillary
President Trump believes there's plenty of proof Hillary Clinton is actually the one guilty of colluding with the Russians, and openly discussed it in meetings ... according to the new recording Omarosa just released.
She says this audio is from an October 2017 meeting -- Sarah Huckabee Sanders and Hope Hicks are heard talking to POTUS about Robert Mueller's investigation. Trump gleefully discusses a report claiming Hillary's campaign dropped millions to get the alleged Russian dossier on Trump ... which he calls, "the phony report."
You can hear Trump say, "So the whole Russia thing, I think, seems to have turned around. What do you think, Sarah [Sanders]?" Sarah replies, "Absolutely."
Omarosa released the audio Monday morning on "The View" -- and added a confession of sorts, saying ... "Hillary Clinton was robbed and I was a co-conspirator in that robbery. [I] helped this con man get into office."
We'll give her this -- she knows how to sell a book. Nearly a month after its release, 'Unhinged' is still near the top of several bestseller lists.

Barack Obama Finally Rips into Trump ... Is it That Hard to Say Nazis Are Bad??
Barack Obama is going after President Trump for refusing to decry neo-Nazis in Charlottesville and bullying the media -- but he's also got beef with the alleged Trump staffer behind the NYT op-ed.
The ex-Prez went in on his predecessor while receiving an award at the University of Illinois ... saying, "How hard can that be? Saying that Nazis are bad?" He added, America is supposed to "stand up to bullies, not follow them."
It's the first time 44's publicly attacked 45 since leaving office and, honestly, it's the kind of talk Democrats have been dying to hear from Obama.
He also challenged Trump's non-stop assault on the media ... pointing out he had plenty of issues with Fox News during his administration, but never called them enemies of the state.
Obama said the anonymous NYT op-ed piece shouldn't make anyone feel better about the "crazy stuff" coming out of the White House ... because elected officials should be checking the President, not faceless appointees.
Sounds like someone's stepping back into the political arena just in time for midterm elections.
11:32 AM PT -- As for Trump ... he had a response to Obama during his rally Friday, saying 44's speech made him sleepy.
"I watched it, but I fell asleep. I found he is very good, very good for sleeping," President Trump says of former President Obama's speech https://t.co/8wgahTGhc0 pic.twitter.com/hXefpmwXvm

Donald Trump Jr. 'Senior Official,' My Ass ... Op-Ed Written by 'Some Idiot!'
Donald Trump Jr. has a very clear picture of who's behind that anonymous New York Times op-ed -- and it ain't no "senior official" in the Trump administration.
We got the President's son heading into Vaucluse Thursday in NYC with his GF, Kimberly Guilfoyle, and when we brought up the NYT piece -- about White House staffers allegedly working against 45 -- junior unloaded.
Don didn't name names, but he made it clear he's not buying the Times' report that it was penned by a "senior Trump administration official." He's convinced it's the other end of the ladder.

We broke the story ... Trump's camp wants the Secret Service to launch an investigation to find the culprit.
There are all sorts of theories on the op-ed author's identity -- several cabinet members and even VP Mike Pence have been mentioned. All have denied any involvement and Trump's oldest son is, at least, inclined to believe them.

Megyn Kelly Anonymous Op-Ed Author's a Coward
Megyn Kelly, who's had her own battles with President Trump, is shockingly in his corner ... at least when it comes to the anonymous New York Times op-ed author showing his or her face!
The "Today" host was leaving NBC Studios in NYC Thursday when we asked about the contentious letter which claims Trump staffers are actively working to undermine 45. Megyn says the author of the letter is gutless, and needs to come out and speak publicly against Trump ... instead of working in the shadows.

Considering her rocky history with Trump, it's interesting to hear Megyn echo the administration's message regarding the anonymous piece.
She did say shortly after the election she and Trump were good.
We weren't necessarily buying it back then, but looks like she's definitely in lockstep with POTUS. On this issue, at least.

Ted Cruz Anonymous NYT Op-Ed Probably Written by a Democrat
Ted Cruz can't seem to see beyond party lines regarding an anonymous op-ed written in the New York Times that bashed Trump -- 'cause he strongly implies it was written by a Dem.

Cruz says that type of secret mutiny is really nothing new in the Trump White House or in politics in general, explaining that previous Republican presidents also had Democrats working from the inside against their boss' agenda.
Despite the Times citing the author of the op-ed as a senior official in Trumpland, STC isn't buying it ... saying everyone in Washington considers themselves "senior" officials.

President Trump Puts the Cart Before the Taxpayers ... $300k for Secret Service Green Rides
-
EXCLUSIVE
Donald Trump's incessant golf outings are costing taxpayers a FORTUNE.
Taxpayers footed bills totaling $300,675 for golf cart rentals alone, so the Secret Service could follow Trump on the links ... this according to federal documents obtained by TMZ.
Many of the expenses emanate from Trump's Mar-a-Lago excursions. And, get this ... since taking office Trump has reportedly spent 153 days at golf properties, which explains why the golf cart rental is sky high.
Since Trump took office, the total expense of his golf outings cost taxpayers an estimated $77 MILLION.
The $300k figure is just for domestic golf outings, and Trump has hit the greens in the UK, Scotland and Japan.

Ex-Judge on Kim Kardashian West Way More Than a Face ... She's Really Influencing Justice
Kim Kardashian West seems to have a powerful pull over President Trump's administration, and she's using it for good ... according to an ex-judge very connected to her cause.
We spoke to former Tennessee judge Kevin Sharp Wednesday in D.C. after his White House meeting with Kim, Jared Kushner, Ivanka Trump and, eventually, the President -- and he says the haters are way off base if they think Kim's only there as window dressing.
Sharp says they had further discussions about criminal justice reform, and not only was Kim was smart and very involved ... she's the right person to seal the deal.
Judge Sharp says Kim's success with Alice Johnson proves she's incredibly effective in a process that would normally take months, because of the public attention she can bring.
By the way, Kim's latest mission -- to get clemency for Chris Young -- is a special one for Sharp. He's the judge who resigned after Tennessee laws forced him to give Young a life sentence for drug possession.
It's clear, he's now happy to be championing reform, and even happier to have Kim on his team.

God to Donald Trump Knock It the F*** Off!!!
The Lord didn't send thunder or hail, but maybe a lightning strike at the White House can jolt President Trump onto a righteous path ... because a little shock therapy never hurts.
There's a thunderstorm in the nation's capital and the White House was right smack at the center of it. A bolt found its way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.
CNN photographer Khalil Abdallah caught the moment.

There's a storm brewing over Trump's SCOTUS nominee who's getting scorched for snubbing the father of a Parkland shooting victim. Then, there's legendary journalist Bob Woodward's book. The excerpts released Tuesday paint Trump as an egomaniac with "the understanding of a fifth or sixth grader."
Among other claims ... White House chief of staff John Kelly told colleagues Trump's "an idiot. It's pointless to try to convince him of anything. He's gone off the rails. We're in Crazytown."
Kelly's predecessor, Reince Priebus, reportedly called the presidential bedroom where Trump does most of his tweeting as "the devil's workshop." And, according to the book, Trump said of Attorney General Jeff Sessions, "This guy is mentally retarded. He's this dumb Southerner."
Trump reportedly said Woodward -- one half of the duo who took down President Richard Nixon -- has credibility issues.

Wolf Blitzer I'm with Meghan McCain ... John's a Hero, and America's Great!!!
4:00 PM PT -- Hard to tell if it's related, but the Prez just tweeted in all caps ... "MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!"
Trump's tweet could be regarding his current struggle with Canada to reach a new NAFTA deal ... or he may have just felt the need to repeat his oft-used slogan. Just as likely, though ... it's a retort to Meghan's eulogy for her father.
Wolf Blitzer doesn't think anything at John McCain's funeral was out of line or too political ... and he's got no apparent issues with Meghan McCain's shot at the Prez either.
We got the CNN anchor at the Reagan National Airport in D.C. Saturday shortly after the late Senator's service wrapped up ... he said it was a beautiful funeral, fitting for "a great American and a great patriot."
Wolf also supported Meghan's comments about her father and the country, clearly slamming Donald Trump's "Make America Great Again" motto.
Meghan said, "The America of John McCain has no need to be made great again because America was always great."
Blitzer's on board with that sentiment, telling us though America's made mistakes, it's the greatest country in the world in his opinion ... and "it's always been great."
As we reported ... former Presidents and McCain rivals George W. Bush and Barack Obama also delivered eulogies for the esteemed politician's National Memorial Service Saturday.
Obama also appeared to knock Trump with his comments, saying McCain urged us all to rise above politics based on "bombast and insult and phony controversies and manufactured outrage."

President Trump on McCain's Death Yeah, No, I Handled That Just Fine ... No Regrets Here!!!
President Trump is defending the way he handled the death of Senator John McCain, saying he did "everything that they requested" and didn't bungle a damn thing.
The Prez sat down with Bloomberg News Thursday for an exclusive interview in the Oval Office, and reporters asked if he missed an opportunity to unite the country and made a mistake by initially not keeping the White House's American flag at half staff until McCain was buried -- an honor that's been bestowed on other senators who've died while in office.
You'll recall ... Trump ordered the flag be flown at half staff the day McCain died, but it was flying at full staff just a day later -- which pissed off A LOT of people, and reportedly caused a veterans group to personally demand that he lower it again out of respect.
Trump caved to the pressure, and eventually issued a statement praising McCain's service to the country after acting clammy at first with reporters who asked about the late statesman.
There's also this ... Bloomberg asked if he thought McCain would've made a better president than Barack Obama ... and DT refused to answer, saying "I don’t want to comment on it ... I have a very strong opinion, all right." Bloomberg notes that Sarah Huckabee Sanders was staring daggers at her boss while he said this, to which he reportedly joked that she was "having a nervous breakdown" over his response -- adding he might elaborate someday.
Trump did sign off on allowing McCain's casket to be delivered to D.C. Thursday on Air Force Two -- normally reserved for the VP and First Lady's transportation -- but noted he did so at the request of the McCain family.

L.A. Mayor Eric Garcetti Real Reason Behind Obama Blvd. is ...

Our photog's question triggered an LOL from the Mayor ... who got in on the joke before getting all presidential on us. Garcetti explained Obama made a historic visit on the Road long before he was POTUS ... and that's what triggered the move for the switch.
Watch the vid ... our guy has another trick up his sleeve in getting Garcetti to spill the beans on whether he's running for Prez in 2020.

Sen. John McCain Casket Flies to D.C. on Air Force 2 Trump Does the Right Thing

Breaking News

John McCain is finally getting his due respect from President Trump -- his body is being flown to Washington D.C. on an aircraft that had to be approved by POTUS.
The late Arizona senator's casket was loaded onto one of the jets known as Air Force 2 -- which is often designated for the VP or First Lady's travel. As you know, 45 will not be attending McCain's service in D.C. ... reportedly because McCain wanted it that way.
Still, Trump announced earlier this week he had greenlit military transport for McCain, saying, "At the request of the McCain family, I have also authorized military transportation of Senator McCain’s remains from Arizona to Washington, D.C., military pallbearers and band support, and a horse and caisson transport during the service at the United States Naval Academy."
Prior to the statement, Trump was being incredibly stubborn on publicly speaking about McCain's passing ... refusing to answer questions about the Senator, and even briefly returning the White House flag to full-staff. It was eventually lowered back to half-staff.
There was no love lost between Trump and McCain. Then-candidate Trump mocked McCain's military service, saying he was not a war hero because he'd been captured in Vietnam.
A memorial service was held for McCain Thursday in Arizona, where a lot of people spoke in remembrance of the political maverick ... including a teary-eyed Joe Biden. McCain will lie in state at the Capitol Rotunda Friday before another memorial service Saturday.
