Amber Heard You Watch ... Johnny's Gonna Take the 5th
Johnny Depp will NEVER testify Friday in the restraining order trial ... he'll take the 5th because he's afraid he'll say something that could get him prosecuted for domestic violence -- that's the take of the sources connected to Amber Heard's case, but it may be a little unfair.
Our sources tell TMZ ... Amber's team is convinced Johnny is afraid to testify and, given the police are already involved, it's just too risky to take the oath and endure a hard cross-examination.
What's more ... Amber's team doesn't even believe Johnny will submit a written declaration denying domestic violence. If you recall, Mel Gibson submitted a written declaration in his custody war with Oksana Grigorieva, and in the doc he admitted he had slapped her. That's what got him prosecuted.
Same with Cosby. What he said in his depo formed the basis of the current prosecution.
Amber's team believes they have the restraining order in the bank. Their thinking goes this way ... Amber's eager to testify, and if Johnny is mum, the judge has no choice but to grant the restraining order.
Fact is ... Amber triggered a police investigation, and it's common practice for someone who's in Johnny's position to take the 5th in a civil case ... even if there's hard proof he's innocent.

Johnny Depp It's All About Money for Amber She Begs to Differ
Amber Heard claims money is NOT the driving force behind her bid to get a restraining order against Johnny Depp, but sources connected with Johnny say she's full of it, pointing to a letter her own lawyer filed with the court ... Amber, however, says the letter isn't a money grab.
Amber's lawyer sent a letter to Jake Bloom, Johnny's entertainment lawyer, on May 24, 2016 ... just 3 days after the alleged iPhone attack, and 3 days before Amber made her explosive domestic violence claims.
In the letter Amber's lawyer tells Bloom, "Amber wishes to work quickly towards a private and amicable resolution of all matters, but she will need Johnny's immediate cooperation to do so." Amber's attorney also claims she wants to "work out solutions outside of the public eye."
Amber's lawyer then make a series of financial demands ... temporary spousal support, use of their Range Rover, possession of their downtown L.A. penthouse, $100,000 for her lawyer's fees and another $25,000 for business people.
Sources connected to Johnny note Amber never asked Johnny to voluntarily agree to stay away from her -- they say it's all about money ... either pay up, or we'll go to court, ask for a restraining order, and drag Johnny through the mud with all the allegations.
Johnny didn't pay and Amber filed the explosive documents on May 27th.
Sources connected with Amber tell TMZ, the letter asks for the standard fare in divorce cases and it's merely to sustain her. The sources deny the letter is an ultimatum to wedge money out of Johnny.
As we reported, Johnny's people made a financial counteroffer to Amber, but she has not responded.

Amber Heard It's Not About Money It's About Protection from Johnny
Amber Heard wants restraint, not money, from Johnny Depp ... so say people connected to the actress.
Our sources say money is "the lowest priority" in her legal war with Depp. As we reported, both sides have been in settlement discussions and our Amber sources say Johnny's side has proposed a financial settlement ... spousal support totaling $50k a month for 8 months. After taxes, that comes to around a quarter of a million bucks.
Our Amber sources say they have not responded to Johnny's offer, because there was a string attached -- a mutual restraining order. The sources say Amber would never agree to be the subject of a restraining order when she was not the one who committed violence. Thus, it's a deal breaker.
Amber, we're told, wants her day in court next Friday in her attempt to win a permanent restraining order against Johnny. She feels like she needs protection and now believes she's standing up for other domestic violence victims ... especially when the perpetrator is rich and famous.

Amber Heard No Depo for Me I Got a Costume Fitting
Amber Heard is not available to have her deposition taken before her big domestic violence trial next week ... because she has to fly to London for a 3-day costume fitting.
Johnny Depp's lawyer, Laura Wasser, was in court Friday demanding that Amber show up so she can grill her about the alleged May 21st attack. Amber has not made herself available and that's why Wasser went to court.
Amber's lawyer, Samantha Spector, told the judge Amber is now in New Jersey for her best friend's engagement party, and from there she's flying to London for a costume fitting for her movie, 'Justice League.' Spector said Amber won't be back until next Thursday night, hours before Friday's trial.
Sources connected to Johnny are scoffing, claiming the costume fitting is a lame excuse to avoid having to answer hard questions about the alleged attack. The sources say no one ever mentioned the fitting until Friday's court hearing.
TMZ has also learned both sides are still in settlement discussions. We're told Johnny's team has made a financial offer but Amber has not responded.

Johnny Depp to Amber Heard Put Up or Shut Up!!!
10:30 AM PT -- Lawyers for Amber and Johnny are in court, and her lawyer, Samantha Spector, asked the judge to push back the June 17th hearing because she needs more time to prepare. Depp's lawyer, Laura Wasser, fired back the longer this drags on the more it damages her client's career.
Wasser also requested phone records from Amber showing any phone records referencing domestic violence since 2015. It's significant because Johnny's team believes the leaked text messages from Amber's phone are fake or doctored.
Amber wasn't in court ... she's out of town celebrating the engagement of her best friend and witness, Raquel Pennington.
Amber Heard and her lawyers are spending countless hours trashing Johnny Depp in the media, but they're so scared that Amber might ruin her case under oath they're dodging her deposition ... so claims Johnny Depp's lawyer.
Attorney Laura Wasser just filed some interesting documents, claiming Heard and best friend Raquel Pennington claim they don't have a single day available before next Friday's restraining order trial ... to answer questions under oath in a depo.
Wasser drops some info ... according to the docs, lawyers on both sides were talking about sitting down and trying to settle the case. It's possible the settlement would involve each staying clear of the other. It's also possible the settlement would involve money ... Amber's asking for $50k a month in spousal support.
Wasser says just 4 days ago they had planned to have the settlement conference June 10, but that fell apart so Wasser wanted to use the day to take Amber's depo. Wasser says Amber's lawyer suddenly claimed she was not available so the depo couldn't go forward.
Bottom line ... Wasser thinks Amber and Raquel are BSing about not being available ... and if they won't sit for a deposition they should not be allowed to testify at next week's trial.
And there's this shot ... Wasser says, "[Amber] has tried her claims in the media. It is now time to do so in a court of law."

Amber Heard had her lawyer send a letter to the cops who arrested her for domestic violence, asking them to wipe clean all traces of the incident ... and the request was made just as she was starting her romance with Johnny Depp.
TMZ broke the story ... Amber was arrested in 2009 for allegedly assaulting her domestic partner at Seattle/Tacoma International Airport. Cops took her mug shot, she spent a night in jail and appeared in court, where the prosecutor decided not to pursue the case because Amber and partner Tasya van Ree lived in California.
Amber's lawyer, Michele Shaw, sent a letter to the Port of Seattle Police Dept. on November 14, 2011 ... asking to delete the criminal history. The lawyer points out, under Washington law, she was eligible because she was never prosecuted.

Johnny Depp Boozing, Not Fighting At Danish Bar
Johnny Depp is partying overseas like a guy with no concerns -- such as a divorce from Amber Heard or domestic violence allegations.
Johnny and his Hollywood Vampires roadies hit up the Under Masken in Denmark Wednesday night where we're told Johnny was drinking and chatting up bar staff until 4 AM.
Bartender Hartvig Hansen tells TMZ ... the reports Johnny got into a fight with a bodyguard are not true. He says the actor knocked back 3 vodka tonics, with limes -- and a bottle of champagne was passed around.
The Daily Mail got photos of Johnny outside the bar with his entourage. Some people thought it looked like he took a swing at one of his bodyguards, but Hartvig says the pic is deceiving -- Johnny really just has his arm around a chick while he's talking to the guys.
The photos could still be a bad look for Johnny, since Amber's claiming alcohol and drugs fueled the alleged assaults.

We're told Amber has now had a change of heart, saying she believes a police report would trigger an arrest and prosecution, and she doesn't want to set the wheels in motion for People vs. Depp.
Sources connected with Johnny scoff at Amber's sympathy, saying she timed the allegations to hurt his new movie, "Alice Through the Looking Glass," which tanked.
Heard claims she still loves the man she now says repeatedly brutalized her.
