Conor McGregor is barking up the wrong tree by picking a fight with Tyron Woodley -- because if they really did throw down, the Irishman would get BEAT THE HELL UP ... so say 2 fellow UFC stars.

As you know ... McGregor and Woodley went at it on Friday -- it started with an icy interaction at the weigh-in ... escalated on Twitter ... and got even nastier when they faced off in person Friday night.

Now, both Anthony Pettis and Aljamain Sterling are warning McGregor to think twice ... Woodley's no bitch.

The Twitter war between Conor McGregor and Tyron Woodley escalated to a real-life confrontation moments ago ... with Conor screaming at the champ backstage at the UFC weigh-ins ... calling him a "woman."

As we previously reported, McGregor called Woodley a "bitch" on Twitter after an icy interaction at a UFC event Friday morning. Afterward, they trashed each other on social media.

But when they ran into each other at the UFC 205 public weigh-in Friday evening, things got REAL -- with Conor saying, "You're like a woman with that phone ... f**king bitch."

Woodley didn't react ... pissing off Conor even more.

Tyron Woodley just threatened to "Go Ferguson" on Conor McGregor's ass -- after the Irish superstar called him a "bitch" on social media.

It all started at the UFC 205 weigh-ins earlier Friday when Tyron tried to say hello to Conor and McGregor blew him off.

Woodley explained in a tweet ... "I said what's up then he tried to flex. Quickly he realized it was a NO FLEX ZONE 🚫Pretty much made him say what's up!"

"Some of us are really about that life! The quiet ones are the ones really from the slums. Don't make me go back."

That's when Conor chimed in ... "Twitter bitch you'll do nothing."

Tyron (who's from Ferguson) fired back -- "Dude Im not them guys u deal w Homie! I'll forget the fight 💩 & go Ferguson! Focus on Eddie & never call me a Bitch again."

Conor's reply -- "Bitch."

T.I. begged his longtime friend to stop embarrassing himself ... "You have to get outta that bubble that you've been living in & get out here & educate yourself on what's going on around US!!!" He offered to educate Wayne on the issues, but added ... "u MUST STOP this buffoonery & coonin' you out here doin."

T.I.'s IG post to Wayne was deeply personal ... reminding him their children grew up together and each looked after the other's families while they were in prison. In fact, T.I. said he was watching the "Nightline" clip and struggling to explain Wayne's comments to his kids.

Shortly after T.I. posted his plea ... Weezy tweeted, "fk ya." Soooo, message not received?

Wayne has sort of apologized for the "Nightline" rant, saying he reacted poorly after Linsey Davis asked him questions about his daughter.

Shannon Briggs has a real plan to resurrect boxing ... by using something fake ... saying he thinks he can make the sweet science hot again ... by acting like a WWE wrestler.

TMZ Sports talked with Briggs who's fighting for the WBA heavyweight title by the end of the year against journeyman Lucas Browne.

Of course this fight comes after years of some of the most entertaining smack talk, antics, and borderline harassment we've seen (poor Wladimir Klitschko) ... with Briggs saying it's all part of the plan.

Dave Chappelle is angry at a headline that suggests he's in Trump's corner and he believes the media outlet in question is guilty of shoddy journalism.

Chappelle performed Friday night at The Cutting Room in NYC and a reporter from The Observer apparently snuck a recorder in and provided what appeared to be a transcription of the show ... in particular, what the magazine called Chappelle's defense of Donald Trump.

Chappelle did indeed go after the media in his attack on Trump saying, “Sexual assault? It wasn’t. He said, ‘And when you’re a star, they let you do it.’ That phrase implies consent. I just don’t like the way the media twisted that whole thing. Nobody questioned it.”

Blac Chyna just unleashed an all out verbal assault on Wendy Williams after the talk show host targeted Rob Kardashian.

Williams went in on Chyna and Rob for a solid 5 minutes on her show Friday -- saying Chyna's only using Rob for personal gain -- and calling the "old" Rob thinner, smarter and more confident. Chyna clearly got word of the show segment, because she went ballistic on Williams Saturday in an Instagram post.

Chyna fired off, "so funny how you love to talk about Rob and his insecurities like at a point in time you wasn't a fat 400 pound ass bitch on the radio!" She continues, "You go out there talking about my family like you just hit the pipe backstage!"

Chyna's most creative zinger lands at the end ... "your horse face ass woke up on the wrong side of the stable and decide to go overboard with your f*** boy comments. Bitch f*** you!"

Yikes.

Miesha Tate says the Ronda Rousey farewell fighting tour might be pretty short ... like, one fight short ... telling TMZ Sports Rousey will retire immediately if she loses to Amanda Nunes at 207.

Little backstory ... Tate and Rousey hate each other ... and pretty much always have.

So, when we got Miesha out in L.A. we wanted to know how she felt about the news Ronda's career is winding down ... did she shed a tear, or pop some champagne when she heard?

Apparently she did neither ... and that's because she saw the whole thing coming. In fact, Tate says if Ronda loses her next fight, she'll quit right there.

There's obviously no love lost between the two ladies ... but still, if you've heard Ronda talk lately you kinda get the feeling Tate is onto something here.

Steelers running back Le'Veon Bell -- who's also a rapper -- just dropped a NEW TRACK taking aim at Cincinnati ... just 7 weeks before they're set to do battle on the field.

The song is "Rapping Athlete" -- in which Bell spits the lyrics:

There's a ton of bad blood between the Steelers and the Bengals -- in fact, it was Bengals LB Vontaze Burfict who ended Bell's season last year during a Week 8 matchup.

As far as the rivalry goes, the Steelers have won 6 out of the last 7 matchups ... so, advantage Le'Veon.

Perla Ferrar was out in Beverly Hills when she reacted to the story we broke -- that Slash says they were never husband and wife because Perla hadn't divorced her first husband.

Rob Kardashian's text messages that triggered a criminal threat investigation are strewn with disparaging references to gays, Mexicans and African-Americans.

TMZ broke the story ... LAPD's Threat Management Unit is on the case after Rob sent some ominous messages to Pilot Jones, the guy who sold pics showing him making out with Blac Chyna and insinuating he might be the father of her unborn baby.

The pics set Rob off. We've obtained the text messages that Jones gave to LAPD. They include:

-- "And u fa***t ass bitch this is ROB and u did the most DISRESPECTFUL s**t ever by releasing pics and a story to a pregnant Woman who is 17 days from having a baby!"

-- "This is my Wife and you about to get your ass beat by every Mexican in LA including me."

-- "U f***ed with the wrong Woman and the wrong dude."

-- "I hope you religious cuz after I beat your ass with about 30 Mexicans u better hope God lets u into heaven."

-- "Its a wrap for u and after we beat your ass we will all be good and never contact Chyna ... u pu**y ass n***a."

-- "Don't ever come for me and my wife ever U corny ass n***a" ... and that's followed by a bunch of black fist emojis.

The LAPD continues to investigate, although we're told law enforcement views the texts as a little "murky and general."

The guy Soulja Boy allegedly threatened to shoot and kill says he can't see his daughter now and it's all Soulja's fault ... so he's suing the rapper.

Skrill Dilly says he's the guy Soulja was talking about when he brandished a gun on camera and said, "I'll kill yo bitch ass." In his lawsuit, Skrill says Soulja actually put a $10,000 bounty on his head. Worst of all, he says his baby mama is refusing to let him near their daughter ... fearing the little girl will get caught in the crossfire.

Skrill says the stress and fear of Soulja gunning for him triggered some medical issues. He was not specific. He's suing for damages and cash to cover his medical expenses.

Soulja Boy has said the gun in the video was fake. We reached out to him about the lawsuit -- no word back.

The Game and Meek Mill's feud is over after one phone call from Rick Ross ... according to Rick, anyway -- but we've learned one side isn't ready for peace just yet.

Rick bragged on video Friday that he had a convo with Game about burying the hatchet with Meek -- and even plugged both of their albums.

Seemed like a happy ending to a beef that's gotten violent -- until we reached out to Game.

His manager, Wack 100, tells us Rick "doesn't have the rank or the respect to squash anything" ... and adds there was no conversation between Rick and Game about it.
