Kevin Durant & Carmelo Cigars, Wine & Expensive Watches at Olympic Send-off Party
Kevin Durant and Carmelo Anthony sipped vino and puffed cigars at an Olympics send-off party Monday night in Houston ... oh, and they got super fancy watches worth over TEN GRAND each!!
The guys at Haute Time and Avion tequila threw the party for Melo and KD (DeAndre Jordan was also there) at a Houston mansion last night after Team USA dismantled Nigeria.
The alcohol, smokes, and fancy food (Chicken Chasseur and Sacher Torte) weren't even the best part ... the highlight was the $27k luxury Hublot watches.
Melo got hooked up with a Big Bang Unico Titanium Bracelet (retails for about $17k) ... and Durant a Classic Fusion Titanium King Gold (about $10k).
Team USA's flying to Brazil Tuesday ... before playing China on Saturday.
Gold watch? Check. Gold medal?

Rio 2016 Blowin' It Out Cops Seize Olympic-Themed Cocaine!!
Even the drug dealers in Brazil are catching the Olympic spirit -- so say cops, who just seized a bunch of cocaine packaged in baggies with the Rio 2016 logo!
According to local reports, cops seized 93 baggies of yayo during an operation Monday night -- and found several of the baggies had the Olympic rings ... and a line that read, "Use Away from Children."
How considerate.
Police also say ... agents swooped up 28 bags of crack and some ammunition during the raid.
No word if that also contained Olympic branding.

Draymond Green spent some quality time in Vegas with his brand new Golden State teammate, Kevin Durant, over the weekend ... and it was all thanks to Carmelo Anthony.
Of course, the guys also happen to be on Team USA together -- along with DeAndre Jordan, DeMarcus Cousins, DeMar DeRozan, Kyle Lowry -- and 'Melo organized a dinner for the team.
The squad was all in Vegas gearing up for Monday's first official practice (the team's home base is Sin City) -- but got together at the Wynn Sunday night for a fancy welcome dinner hosted by Carmelo and his friends at Haute Time.
We're told hotel owner Steve Wynn couldn't make it -- but sent one of his favorite magicians to entertain the guys. You can see in the pics they all seem to be havin' a good time.
By the way, big smiles on Draymond Green's face the entire evening -- seems he ain't too worried about that whole assault case in Michigan.

Former U.S. Olympian Home, Walking ... Less Than 3 Months After Near-Death Injury
2x U.S. Olympic star Jamie Nieto is home from the hospital and walking with some assistance less than 3 months after a NEAR-DEATH injury ... TMZ Sports has learned.
As we previously reported, Nieto landed on his head during a training session on April 23rd ... and suffered MAJOR DAMAGE to his back. He lost feeling in his arms and legs ... and was unable to move.
But only 2 1/2 months after the injury, Nieto's manager, Paul Doyle, says his client has miraculously recovered ... so much that he's been sent home from the hospital ... and is WALKING with a walker.
How'd he bounce back? Intense rehab, Doyle says. "He's been treating recovery like a true Olympian."
Probably never be the same though, right? Wrong. Doyle says Nieto expects he'll be on his feet, walking by himself in no time.
"We're optimistic he could be living a normal life in a few months."

Oscar Pistorius Gets 6 Years In Prison ... For Murdering GF
Ex-Olympic sprinter Oscar Pistorius was sentenced to 6 years in prison for the 2013 killing of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp ... after his initial manslaughter conviction was upgraded to murder.
Pistorius admitted he shot and killed Steenkamp in his South Africa home -- claiming he believed she was an intruder.
He was convicted of manslaughter in 2014 and was living under house arrest as part of a 5 year sentence -- but the conviction was overturned and upgraded to murder.
Oscar was facing up to 15 years behind bars -- but the judge felt he only deserved 6 ... partly due to the fact he's shown remorse.
The 29-year-old was taken to prison immediately following Wednesday's hearing. He will be eligible for parole after serving half of his sentence.
Pistorious has 2 weeks to appeal the sentence -- though his legal team has suggested they will not initiate appeal proceedings.

Olympic athletes from across the globe are finally getting some backup in the war on Zika -- with the makers of OFF! sending 115,000 units to athletes, coaches and staff ... TMZ Sports has learned.
A rep for SC Johnson -- the parent company of the OFF! insect repellent -- tells us the brand has become the "official supplier of insect repellent for the Rio 2016 Olympic and Paralympic Games."
As part of the sponsorship, the company is sending cases of mosquito repellent to Brazil.
SC Johnson's CEO and chairman Fisk Johnson issued a statement saying, "To continue our support in the fight against mosquito-borne diseases, we will use our 60 years of mosquito expertise to educate athletes, volunteers and attendees on how they can protect themselves from mosquito bites through tips from our experts."

"There's always something that comes out every year," Angel said.
"Last year it was Ebola. Before that it was swine flu. It was something before that ... guess what 00 we ain't worried about that Zika Virus!"

Team USA track star Lolo Jones has officially pulled out of the 2016 Olympics in Rio due to injury -- but says she's still determined to win a medal ... in 2020.
Jones made a video statement explaining that she isn't quite recovered from the hip surgery she underwent last year ... and should've known better.
Jones is 33 -- which is old for a track star -- but she's adamant she will NOT retire.
In fact, she added a caption to the video -- "See you in 2020 homies."
Jones has competed in the Winter Olympics as a member of the bobsled team -- but would not say if she plans to try that again.

Rio Olympics 'Mascot' Jaguar Shot Dead After Torch Ceremony
The Olympic torch relay took a horrific turn when a Brazilian soldier shot and killed a jaguar that had just been involved in the torch ceremony.
The female jaguar, named Juma, was photographed in the town of Manaus as the torch passed through on its way to Rio, and the whole thing went off without a hitch.
But according to reports, shortly after the ceremony the sedated big cat -- normally captive at a zoo -- bolted for freedom as it was being placed back in its cage. When Juma approached a soldier, he fired the fatal shot.
The Amazon Military Command said the killing was in line with safety procedures.
Talk about a tragic omen -- Brazil's Olympic team mascot is a yellow jaguar, known as Ginga.

Shane Mosley is dashing the hell out of Amir Khan's Olympic dreams -- saying it would be DUMB AS HELL to fight at the '16 Games in Rio after the way he was brutally K.O.'d back in May.
FYI, Khan has expressed serious interest in fighting for Pakistan at the summer games -- after the International Boxing Association finally voted to allow pros to compete for gold.
But after watching Khan nearly get decapitated by Canelo Alvarez last month, Mosely tells TMZ Sports, the dude needs to rethink his plan.
"I don’t think after getting knocked the f*** out Khan should be talking about representing anyone."

As for Mosely, the boxer says he WILL be in Rio for the games, but not to fight ...

Paralyzed U.S. Olympian 'Getting Better Every Day' ... Moving Arm!
The former Team USA Olympic high jumper who was paralyzed in a training accident in California last month says he's making HUGE progress -- and can now move his arm!!!
As we previously reported, 2-time Olympic high jumper Jamie Nieto fell on his head while training Olympic hopefuls last month ... and suffered major damage to his spinal cord.
But in a new video shot from his hospital bed, the 39-year-old said he's "getting better every day. Just feeling a lot better."
Nieto -- who underwent emergency surgery following the life-threatening accident -- is also trying to walk again ... though it might take some time.
"It's been a tough experience, not easy. You know, learning how to walk again, move my hands and getting my feet moving again."
"But I'm getting stronger, so it's getting better. It's a process. I thank everybody out there for all their love and support."
Nieto's girlfriend has said he's a fighter who hopes to be jumping again as soon as possible.

Brazilian Soccer Legend Brazil Is a Violent Mess Don't Come Here for Olympics!
One of the greatest Brazilian soccer players of all time is warning people to NOT come to Brazil for the Olympics ... saying his country is so violent and dangerous, tourists' lives will be at risk.
The man calling out his country is Rivaldo -- who famously won the World Cup with Brazil in 2002. He's also a member of the Brazilian soccer Hall of Fame.
Rivaldo unleashed Sunday after learning of the murder of a 17-year-old girl.
"Things are getting uglier in Brazil," Rivaldo posted on Instagram ... "I advise everyone with plans to visit Brazil for the Olympics in Rio – to stay home. You'll be putting your life at risk here."
He added, "This is without even speaking about the state of public hospitals and all the Brazilian political mess. Only God can change the situation in our Brazil."
The Olympics are set to begin in Rio on August 5th ... despite the violence, water issues, Zika scare and everything else.
