Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took over a waiting SUV outside Spago in Beverly Hills last night -- problem was, the car wasn't waiting there for them.

The newly engaged couple was leaving a fundraiser for Wolfgang Puck's, "Dream For Future Africa Foundation" when they were bombarded by paparazzi.

A Bev Hills police officer stepped in and tried to help get the couple to the first SUV they saw ... but after loading into the ride, they realized it was the wrong car.

K and K tried to hide out in the back while people scrambled to call for the right SUV -- and after a couple of intense minutes, they made the transfer.

Gotta hand it to Kanye ... 'cause while the situation was nothing short of insane, he kept his composure the entire time and didn't snap at anyone.

Bruce Jenner was NOT invited to AT&T Park when Kanye West popped the question to Kim Kardashian ... in fact, he had no idea his step-daughter was getting engaged until AFTER the fact -- TMZ has learned.

Family sources tell us ... Bruce and Kanye have never had a "real conversation." As we previously reported, Bruce was not happy when Kim hooked up with Kanye so quickly after she left Kris Humphries.

We're told Kanye is the one who planned every detail of the surprise proposal. We do not know exactly why Bruce was not invited -- whether it was because of Kanye or because of Bruce's separation from Kris.

We do know ... Bruce didn't even know Kanye was popping the question until he got a call from Kim immediately after she got engaged. We're told Bruce was Kim's first call, because Kim considers him to be her father.

Kim Kardashian and Kanye West will not have a long engagement -- sources close to the couple tell TMZ the engagement will be very short and the wedding will happen quickly.

We're told it's Kanye more than Kim that wants the wedding to happen STAT.

As for what kind of wedding ... we're told it's going to be "a blow out."

But Kim and Kanye aren't all smiles. Our sources say they are PISSED OFF that someone present at AT&T Park secretly taped the proposal and leaked it. The couple thinks they know who did it, and that person signed a confidentiality agreement. We're told a lawsuit is imminent.

BTW ... North West was at the ballpark.

Kim Kardashian totally knew Kanye West was going to pop the question -- and how do WE know? Because the evidence is written all over her ... fingernails?

Kanye and Kim were planted on the infield at AT&T Park in San Francisco Monday night when he got down on his knee and popped the question, while an orchestra played in the background.

The hug that ensues tells the story ... Kim said yes, she got a 15-carat diamond ring and they went off into the sunset and drank a lot.

Lamar Odom tells TMZ he hasn't been blackballed from the Kardashian family -- and WAS invited to Kanye's big proposal to Kim -- but he CHOSE not to go because he had better things to do that night.

It was just one of the topics Lamar addressed on his way out of the Spitting Chicken Cantina in Sherman Oaks, CA last night ... telling us about his friendship with Kobe, his relationship with his dad and his battle to get back into the NBA.

In fact, L.O. says he believes he's back in playing shape -- telling us, "I can play a basketball game and probably play really well."

He wanted to prove it by showing off his physique -- jokingly asking, "Do you wanna see me with my shirt off or my pants down?"

Don't worry, he didn't follow through on his offer.

Kanye West went over the top for his marriage proposal to Kim Kardashian -- renting out a stadium, hiring an orchestra, and oh a little 15-carat diamond ring! All in all, an awesome ... waste of money.

Yeezy, you coulda pulled this off on the cheap, bro.

Kanye West strolled into his hotel this afternoon in San Francisco ... just hours after proposing to baby mama Kim Kardashian -- and the guy looked REALLY HAPPY!

West was in such a great mood all day today. In fact, the rap star even threw out a peace sign to the photogs who were snapping his pic -- it's almost like he got laid last night or something.

Congrats pal ... on the engagement (and on the getting laid thing).

Kanye West pulled out all the stops when he proposed to Kim Kardashian last night ... paying the orchestra members a relative fortune ... all while cameras were rolling.

A member of the orchestra tells TMZ ... she was paid 4 times what she usually gets for such a gig -- members snagged up to 1k each.

She says no one got wind of Kanye's plan until 2 days before the event. A contractor reached out to a bunch of musicians in the area. But here's the thing ...The orchestra members kept the secret for a full 2 days. They did sign non-disclosure agreements, but you know how that works ...

The woman also tells us ... multiple cameras were rolling during Kanye's proposal, so there's plenty of material for the Kardashian reality show. We're told Kanye has final approval over whether it goes on the show or not.

The engagement comes 4 months after Kim and Kanye's daughter North was born -- and 18 months after they went public as a couple.

Monday was Kim's 33rd birthday. This will be her third shot at "til death do us part," and Kanye's first.

BTW -- In case you're interested, it costs $35k to rent out the field. We're guessing he can afford it.

Lamar Odom aggressively wanted to talk to a photog yesterday, about life, health, basketball and marriage.

Lamar has NEVER been chatty, so this lunchtime video is pretty shocking. The photog tries to end the interview several times and Lamar actually calls him back. Among the subjects:

You gotta see it. It's as revealing as anything we've seen in a long time.

Do as he says, not as he does -- at least that was Lamar Odom's advice to a 7-year-old boy Saturday night ... when he warned him about the dangers of drug abuse.

Odom was at a birthday party at Tokyo Delves in North Hollywood -- along with about 20 people -- when the young boy named Elijah approached Odom to ask for a photo.

Elijah's mother tells us, Odom initially turned the kid down, offering to shake Elijah's hand instead and have a brief conversation ... which they did.

The mom says Lamar pontificated about the merits of education and staying in school -- and even encouraged Elijah (who is tall for his age) to play basketball -- but the ironic twist, Lamar finished the conversation by telling him, "Don't do drugs."

He then offered to take the above photo, despite previously refusing.

Screw Obamacare or the murderers that broke out of prison in Florida, ABC News just sent out an email blast to the media with the most important news of the day -- IT'S KIM KARDASHIAN'S BIRTHDAY!!!

Seriously, ABC News just fired off a news release with the subject line, "Kim Kardashian Turns 33."

Wait, before we go any further .... ABC included a note at the top of the email warning, "News organizations using excerpts of this reporting should credit/link to ABC News."

But ABC didn't launch the press release JUST to tell us information widely available on the interweb -- they also made sure we knew, "In honor of the reality star’s 33rd birthday, we are dedicating our entertainment section to all things Kim Kardashian."

The email concludes, "Don’t forget to wish her a happy birthday!"

Oh, we won't!!!

Lamar Odom's got recovery on his mind -- chowing down on a healthy breakfast in L.A. this morning.

Sources at Crave restaurant in Sherman Oaks tell TMZ, Odom only stopped by for about 20 minutes with another person, but ordered a healthy breakfast of oatmeal, fruit, and coffee.

We're told he ate pretty much everything, which is a good sign ... because if his appetite is returning, it could mean he's finally weaning himself off crack.

As we reported, Lamar's been looking thinner and thinner recently, so a good meal could really benefit him. Especially if he's considering a return to the NBA.

Kanye West has figured out a new way to idolize baby mama Kim Kardashian -- he's enshrined her on his t-shirt.

The rapper was spotted in Seattle yesterday wearing the shirt with Kim's face on it -- shortly before kicking off his Yeezus tour -- and he couldn't help but smile.

Kylie and Kendall Jenner are back at it, hitting a famous music venue in West Hollywood last night -- and this time, they definitely were NOT ID'd at the door.

16-year-old Kylie and 17-year-old Kendall went to watch their brother Brandon perform with his wife Leah ("Brandon and Leah") at the Troubadour -- Bruce was there too -- but the good news, no fakes were required ... because it was an all-ages event.

... Unlike the one at Vignette nightclub earlier this week.

On their way into Trouabdour, we asked the girls about their visit to the 21-and-over venue Tuesday -- but they didn't have much to say. We asked Bruce what he thought too. He didn't look too happy about the situation.

As we reported, the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control has is on the hunt trying to figure out if the underage Jenner girls used fake IDs to enter Vignette -- even requesting security footage from the bar.
