Oklahoma QB Baker Mayfield Arrested for Public Intox, Running From Cops

Published | Updated

Oklahoma standout and Heisman finalist Baker Mayfield was arrested after allegedly yelling profanities, "caused a scene" and running from cops after an altercation.

According to the police report, Mayfield was in Arkansas early Saturday when the incident happened. An officer was waved down to take an assault and battery report and asked Mayfield -- who had allegedly been trying to break up the altercation -- to stay so he could give a statement. Reports say that's when Mayfield went nuts, cussing and making a scene.

The report says Mayfield had slurred speech, trouble walking and was covered in food. Mayfield allegedly sprinted away from the officer and once tackled, refused to cooperate.

The QB and Heisman hopeful was arrested for public intoxication, disorderly conduct, resisting arrest and fleeing.

A statement from the school says, "We are aware of the matter and are learning the details."

Rory McIlroy I'm No Bigot For Golfing With Trump I Just Respect The Office

The Northern Irish golf star released a statement Friday afternoon ... claiming he's been called a "bigot" and "fascist" for golfing with POTUS last week.

"Whether you respect the person who holds that position or not, you respect the office that he holds," McIlroy says.

"This wasn't an endorsement nor a political statement of any kind. It was, quite simply, a round of golf. Golf was our common ground, nothing else."

"I've travelled all over the world and have been fortunate enough to befriend people from many different countries, beliefs and cultures."

"To be called a fascist and a bigot by some people because I spent time in someone's company is just ridiculous."

Muhammad Ali's Son Detained at Airport ... They Asked 'Are You Muslim?'

Published | Updated

Muhammad Ali Jr. was detained for 2 hours at the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport ... and he's ready to sue because he thinks it's because he's Muslim.

Ali Jr.'s spokesman, Chris Mancini, tells TMZ ... his client was returning from Jamaica with his mother, Khalilah Ali -- Ali's first wife -- on February 7 when immigration officers stopped them. She got through, but he was taken to a small room for 2 hours and questioned.

Mancini says Ali's 44-year-old son was asked twice if he's Muslim, and also where he got his name. He was traveling on a U.S. Passport.

Ali Jr. is looking into suing the U.S. Treasury and Homeland Security over the incident. Mancini believes it hints at a larger issue of profiling and discrimination. He's interested in filing the lawsuit as a class action.

Worth noting ... Feb. 7 was 4 days after a federal judge put the kibosh on President Trump's immigration ban. U.S. Customs and Border Protections told us it can't comment on individual travelers, but "all international travelers arriving in the U.S. are subject to CBP inspection."
