Ex-NFL player James Hardy III -- a 2nd round draft pick in 2008 -- has been committed to a state mental institution ... 6 months after he was arrested for attacking 3 cops ... TMZ Sports has learned.

We broke the story ... Hardy was taken into custody on May 4th at an L.A. apartment complex after an alleged violent meltdown. We're told it took several officers to subdue the 6'6", 225-pound athlete.

Now, we're told a judge has ruled that Hardy is not mentally competent to stand trial in the case -- and has ordered the 28-year-old to be committed to a state hospital.

According to court documents, the hospital has the authority to administer "involuntary antipsychotic medication" to Hardy as needed.

"Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" star Yung Berg allegedly did a real number on his girlfriend -- leaving her with nasty injuries over much of her body when they had a hotel room brawl in NYC.

Masika Tucker told police ... "He hit me and dragged me by my hair. He pinned me to the wall and grabbed me by my throat" -- this according to the criminal complaint obtained by TMZ.

In the docs, Tucker says she suffered a laceration to her right forearm, a laceration above her left eyebrow, bruising to the left side of her neck, and a laceration to her chest.

In all, Berg was hit with four charges -- three assaults and one harassment -- but managed to avoid the "obstruction of breathing" misdemeanor ... which he was initially booked for when he got arrested.

As TMZ first reported, the fight was triggered after Yung Berg's credit card was declined during a night on the town.

Aaron Grissom -- easily the most hated contestant on the current season of "Top Chef" -- has been arrested for felony domestic violence ... TMZ has learned.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... Grisson was at his San Fernando Valley home Tuesday afternoon when he got into a heated argument with his girlfriend and allegedly pushed her hard enough that her knee got injured.

According to the jail in Van Nuys, Grissom was booked for infliction of corporal injury on a spouse.

Grissom -- who works at Bow & Truss in North Hollywood, CA -- was booked and released on Wednesday after posting $50,000 bail.

Grissom probably got home just in time to watch himself on Wednesday night's new episode of "Top Chef" ... where he was on the winning team in the Elimination Challenge.

He famously gets into heated arguments with everyone on the show.

The drummer for AC/DC was busted in New Zealand for allegedly plotting to have 2 people killed -- and for a bunch of drugs allegedly found in his home during an early morning police raid.

Phil Rudd was taken into custody early Thursday, charged with attempting to procure a murder. The 60-year-old founding member of the rock group was also charged with possession of methamphetamine and marijuana.

NZ police say Rudd tried to hire a hitman to kill 2 other men. The names of the intended victims and the alleged hit man were not immediately released.

Rudd -- who's been with AC/DC since 1975 -- was released on bail after a brief court appearance.

A rep for the band says, "We've only become aware of Phil's arrest as the news was breaking. We have no further comment. Phil’s absence will not affect the release of our new album Rock or Bust and upcoming tour next year."

Suge Knight was just taken into custody for allegedly robbing a photog in Beverly Hills, but the judge was extremely sympathetic, saying he clearly understands why a celeb would be driven to extremes when the paparazzi shoot their young children.

TMZ was in court Wednesday afternoon when Suge appeared with his lawyer, James Blatt, to formally surrender ... he's been in Vegas since the arrest warrant was issued last week.

Judge Keith Schwartz said he couldn't cut Suge a break because the D.A. has filed charges, but he said he understands how upsetting it is when paparazzi aggressively go after young children.

The judge also mentioned Justin Bieber being chased down an L.A. freeway, adding, "What kind of lunatics do that?"

Suge Knight just arrived at a L.A. courthouse to surrender in his robbery case.

Our photog asked Suge about the case, which could put him behind bars for the rest of his life. Suge made it clear ... the rap against him isn't fair.

Suge and Katt Williams were both arrested last week after a photog claimed they took her camera by force in Beverly Hills. Suge and Katt say it's all B.S. -- she was shooting Suge's 4-year-old son and they never took the camera.

Yung Berg flew into a drunken rage that ended with his GF allegedly getting choked ... all because his credit card was declined.

According to sources close to Yung's GF, Masika Tucker ... after a booze-filled night at the "Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood" reunion show in NYC, Berg went to pay his bill, but the card was over the limit.

Yung stormed out, went to his hotel and Masika followed. She told him she paid the bill and schooled him for leaving her ... and he reacted by grabbing her by the neck, throwing her on the bed and pulling her out of the room by her hair.

Yung then allegedly continued his assault by choking her out.

TMZ broke the story ... Yung was arrested for "obstruction of breathing."

Masika is already jumping to Yung's defense, saying it's totally out of character for him ... and she blames it all on alcohol.

Congrats, MasterCard ... you're off the hook.

A former NFL cheerleader has been indicted in Delaware for allegedly raping a 15-year-old boy she spotted on Instagram.

According to officials, 47-year-old Molly Shattuck -- who cheered for the Baltimore Ravens back in 2005 -- was charged with 2 counts of 3rd degree rape over an incident that allegedly went down back in September.

Officials say Shattuck began seducing the boy back in May after she saw his picture on Instagram -- and first got physical with him in the back seat of her car in a middle school parking lot ... with kissing and touching.

But investigators say things escalated during Labor Day weekend ... when Molly seduced the boy at a rented beach house she was staying at with her own kids.

Officials say Shattuck performed oral sex on the boy at least 2 times -- once while outside walking the dog and again when they returned to the bedroom.

According to documents, Shattuck allegedly told the boy, "If he wanted to have sex she would. The boy opted out. He decided to leave. At that point, she told him to come back later, but he did not go back."

Officials say the boy told investigators Shattuck was wearing pink underwear in the bedroom -- and now officials have executed a search warrant ... hoping to find evidence that corroborates the boy's story ... including the pink underwear.

Yung Berg -- the rapper who stars on "Love & Hip Hop Hollywood" -- was arrested in NYC early Wednesday for allegedly brutalizing his girlfriend, and the charge is "obstruction of breathing" ... TMZ has learned.

Berg -- aka Hitmaka -- and the woman were at the Gershwin Hotel when they got in an argument ... where he allegedly grabbed her by the neck, threw her to the floor, dragged her by her hair and hit her in the face.

Apparently, the neck grab was enough for the breathing obstruction charge.

When cops came, the woman had bruises and complained she was in pain.

He's currently in custody.

Luke Petitgout -- who played nine seasons in the NFL, mostly with the New York Giants -- was arrested in New Jersey on Tuesday on a charge of sexual assault and simple assault.

The 6'6", 275-pound Petitgout was arrested at the home of his estranged wife Jennifer, says the NY Daily News. Jennifer is the alleged victim and the paper says she was photographed with bruises.

He was arrested and charged with sexual assault with force and simple assault. He is currently being held on $50,000 bail.

Petitgout's attorney, Patrick J. Jennings, called the charges "baseless" and told the News, “We intend to vigorously defend against the charges.”

Suge Knight was rushed to a hospital this weekend after taking TWO nasty falls behind bars.

Sources close to the rap mogul tell us he passed out in his jail cell and was taken to the medical ward ... when he arrived, Suge fainted once again while getting an X-ray.

Suge's lawyer Richard Schonfeld says he was transferred to a local hospital.

Our sources say Suge now has a blood clot in his lung. He's been on a heavy dose of blood thinners since getting shot, but sources close to Knight tell us he couldn't take his meds in the slammer and the going theory is that caused the clot.

Suge's bail has been set at $75K.

As we previously reported ... Suge and Katt Williams were taken to jail last week for robbery -- after a female photog claimed they stole her camera.

We got video of Suge moments before the alleged jack move and he was definitely pissed ... which is not good for your blood pressure.

Suge Knight menacingly got in the face of a female photographer and repeatedly called her a "bitch" moments before he and Katt Williams allegedly tried to snatch her camera ... and we have video of the run-in.

This is the first video of the Sept. 5 Beverly Hills incident that got Suge and Katt arrested for robbery last week. The clip starts with Suge going after a male paparazzo, but then he starts berating the chick pap from a distance -- accusing her of taking pictures of his son.

Then it gets real scary. All 6'4" of Suge marches over to her, and unleashes the threat ... "I got a bitch to come beat your motherf***in' ass!"

It's interesting -- as we first told you ... Katt Williams denies laying a hand on the photog, but does say a female companion of his intervened because the pap was taking shots of Suge's young son.

Eliza Dushku was robbed blind Saturday morning in Rhode Island by 2 guys in costume ... and the scary part -- she had to sleep in the same hotel as them afterward.

Providence police officials tell us Dushku was unloading items from her vehicle around 3:45 A.M. ... when she set her Louis Vuitton bag on the curb and the jerk thieves snatched it up.

One was dressed as Caesar, the other was wearing a random mask.

Cops say they scoured security footage and saw the purse snatchers get into an elevator ... but they couldn't tell where they got off.

Dushku tweeted saying, "Really upset. It's been a long night. The 2 men are in my hotel currently & 'nothing can be done."'

She added, "If you see anyone walk out of hotel w this Duffel bag, it was a gift from @MrsSOsbourne ON her show in '04. It's been around the world w me."

Cops are on the hunt ... but it's tough.

7:15 AM PST -- Eliza tweeted saying the men were caught by police officers this morning in the hotel ... and they still had the luggage on them. Dushku claims they were promptly arrested.

Police finally busted a man for allegedly gunning down Chris Brown's tattoo artist, Trigz ... TMZ has learned.

LAPD arrested Robert Falcon on Tuesday for the murder of Trigz earlier this month. The tattoo artist -- who worked with tons of music celebs -- was shot outside the Black Derby Smoke Shop in North Hollywood.

As we reported ... police say Trigz and Falcon had gotten into an argument, which eventually ended in gunfire. Falcon was booked for 1 count of murder and his bail was set at $2 million. He's still in custody.

Dallas Cowboys running back Joseph Randle offered an officer $100 for a MASSAGE while he was being booked into jail for stealing underwear ... and it was all caught on tape.

It all went down at Frisco City Jail in Texas after the 22-year-old was busted for shoplifting cologne and undies from a nearby mall on Oct 13th.

To say Randle was acting bizarre during the booking process ... is kind of an understatement.

Katt Williams says he and Suge Knight were falsely arrested because they were not trying to steal a camera ... they were trying to protect a 5-year-old child from an unethical photographer.

Katt talked to our photog hours after his release Wednesday in Malibu ... he's characteristically cryptic ... but it seems he's saying he and Suge saw the alleged victim shooting a 5-year-old who was alone in an alley and suggested the photog was doing something inappropriate.

According to Katt ... the female photog said she would erase the video but then booked it, so they gave chase. And, he says they never took the camera.
