'OITNB' Star Taryn Manning ARRESTED for Criminal Threats

Published | Updated

9:47 AM PT Manning's lawyer says, "The District Attorney declined to prosecute Ms. Manning and the arrest was voided. The allegation was false. It is unfortunate that additional false allegations by an individual convicted of violating orders of protection intended to protect Ms. Manning are facilitated by purported news organizations to perpetuate the harassment of Ms. Manning exponentially."

NYPD, however, tells TMZ the arrest was not voided.

8:22 AM PT
We're told the DA has already declined to prosecute Manning.

"Orange is the New Black" star Taryn Manning has been arrested for making criminal threats against a former close friend ... law enforcement sources tell TMZ.

Taryn had been ordered to stay away from Jeanine Heller, a former pal after the two ended up in court and a judge issued a mutual domestic restraining order.

We're told the judge determined Tuesday Taryn violated the restraining order by threatening to kill Jeanine via text and social media. According to court docs, Taryn's threatening messages included: "I will kill you, bitch" ... "Go f**k yourself and die" ... "What's taking so long? Shouldn't you be dead by now?"

Taryn was not in court, so the judge cited her for contempt and police then arrested her.

It's really bitter ... Jeanine has also been arrested in the past for violating the order by stalking Taryn -- sending her hundreds of texts and emails.

Now you know how to win money on the Strip.

When the guardianship was created, June was required to pay her mom $100 a month in child support. But fast forward to 2009, when the Henry County D.A. filed criminal contempt charges against June, claiming she was way behind on her payments -- $4,144.62 behind.

According to legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- June was behind "due to willful and continuous refusal to comply."

The D.A. threatened her with jail if she didn't pay. The mug shot was taken in the contempt case.

The D.A. dismissed the contempt charge 3 months after it was filed ... presumably because June belatedly paid.
