8:41 AM PT -- A rep for Versace tells TMZ the company strongly believes in equal opportunity as an employer and a retailer. They add ... "We do not tolerate discrimination on the basis of race, national origin or any other characteristic protected by our civil rights laws." Versace denies the allegations in the suit.

Versace secretly alerts staffers when an African-American person enters the store ... according to an ex-employee who claims the company also dissed his fashion sense and then canned him.

The man worked in a Bay Area store, and in a lawsuit says a manager told him about a store code called "D410," which was used to casually let co-workers know a black person was present -- as in, we got a D410 in menswear.

BTW ... that's the code for all black shirts in Versace stores ... according to the suit.

The employee says he shocked the manager by responding, "You know that I'm African-American?"

He says after that revelation they refused to give him rest breaks, and fired him after just 2 weeks. In the suit, he says he was told he was canned because he hadn't "lived the luxury life."

Translation: you got no swag, son.

Gretchen Rossi may have to lawyer up somewhere else after she stiffed a law firm for hundreds of thousands of dollars ... according to a new lawsuit.

Brown & Charbonneau, LLP -- a SoCal business and family firm -- just filed suit against the ex-'Real Housewives of Orange County' star, claiming she left 'em hanging with an invoice of about $285,000 in late 2013 ... and then another for $16,000 a few months later.

Gretchen's camp tells us she hired B&C to work on a harassment case and plans to pay her unpaid balance once she collects in an unrelated legal matter. She chalks it up to a "misunderstanding."

Snapchat is about to learn the age-old lesson of an eye for an eye ... through a lawsuit.

Eyebobs -- a company that's been selling glasses since 2001 -- just filed suit against the social media giant, accusing it of ripping out off their eyeball ... logo, that is.

Eyebobs claims Snapchat started using a similar eyeball image this year to promote its new Spectacles -- which are all the rage right now -- saying it's a bullseye knockoff.

Eyebobs wants a judge to rip the eye off Snapchat's Spectacles and force 'em to fork over some loot.

BB tells us it was just a marijuana party, but then dropped some highly relevant info ... dabs were on the menu at the party. Dabs are a concentrated dose of cannabis made by extracting THC, and that takes you into felony territory.

Hillary's emails got nothing on a political scandal rocking the state of New Mexico ... and it's fitting a "Breaking Bad" star's at the center of it.

Steven Michael Quezada, who played Agent Gomez on the hit show set in N.M., got sued by Patricia Paiz, whom he just defeated for County Commissioner of Bernalillo County's District 2.

Paiz claims Quezada's wife filled out his election documents, which is a violation of campaign laws. What's more, Paiz says Quezada was not even in New Mexico the day the docs were filed, which she says is required under state law.

Quezada is callng BS ... firing back with these photos he says prove he was indeed at the County Clerk's office the day in question.

Short story ... Paiz wants the County Commissioner to rule Quezada was not eligible to run and therefore he can't be elected, which would give her the win by default.

Quezada points to the fact that he kicked her ass ... 62% to 38%.

Taylor Swift says her life will be in danger unless the court steps in and breaks out some Wite-Out.

Taylor just filed docs asking the court to redact portions of a transcript from a July hearing in her sexual assault case against David Mueller. At the hearing, Taylor's lawyers specifically talked about her security detail and specific threats made against her in the past.

Taylor says the transcript contains sensitive and personal information that, if released to the public, could jeopardize her safety.

Her team lays out a scary scenario, "The same people who have threatened Ms. Swift in the past, as well as copy cats, may be emboldened by public attention" they'd get if the whole transcript comes out.

The judge has yet to rule on Taylor's request.

Young Thug's Christmas shopping got short-circuited by a pair of handcuffs -- he got busted in a fancy Atlanta mall, and how it went down is an amazing coincidence.

Officers perp-walked the rapper through Lenox Square Mall Thursday night, but law enforcement sources say the cops weren't even looking to arrest him. We're told officers had responded to a stolen vehicle report, and while walking through the mall looking for a suspect they bumped into Young Thug.

One of the officers recognized him and remembered he'd recently missed a court date -- for excessive window tinting -- and that was all she wrote for Thug. He was booked for the warrant and released after posting a $500 bond. If only he'd cyber-shopped.

Ex-NBA superstar Steve Francis just pled not guilty to breaking into a BMW in a restaurant parking lot in Florida and pilfering it for money, jewelry and makeup ... TMZ Sports has learned.

As we previously reported, Francis was locked up in Manatee County, FL over the alleged incident which went down back in June outside of the Cortez Clam Factory.

Francis allegedly asked the restaurant bartender for a flashlight -- and then raided the 2003 Beamer he'd been casing ... taking more than $1,700 in stuff.

He turned himself in last week.

Those delicious Jolly Rancher Hard Candies you love are being hawked in a bag full o' lies ... according to one sour customer who says his sweet purchase was mostly air.

It's gotta be bad when you sue over freakin' candy, but yeah ... a California man says he bought a 3.8 oz. box of Jolly Ranchers and was shocked to discover it was less than 50% full. He says although he didn't expect it to be "crammed full," the excess of empty space was unacceptable, and he's blaming it on the packaging.

According to the docs ... the box is designed to hide the severe lack of colorful candy on the inside, which is misleading and downright wrong.

He's not in it for the money -- he just wants his $3 back. Well, he's also putting Hershey's -- the maker of Jolly Ranchers -- on the clock. In the suit, he wants the judge to give the co. 12-18 months to sell off its deceptive packaging and roll out the good stuff.

Moby got a visit from his own personal Grinch -- a woman cops call an "obsessed fan" who tried to make off with a special delivery.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ ... the incident went down Wednesday afternoon when Moby's assistant noticed a woman on his Hollywood Hills property. When cops showed up, the suspect was still there holding a package with Moby's name on it.

She was arrested for petty theft, and we're told cops will also recommend trespassing charges. Moby wasn't home at the time.

Lisa Marie Naegle's alleged murderer just faced a judge for the first time since being charged in the case.

Jackie Jerome Rogers' appearance was quick -- his arraignment was postponed until January 30, but the judge did set his bail at $2 million ... as the D.A. had requested.

TMZ broke the story ... Rogers confessed to the murder, telling cops he took a hammer to Lisa Marie's head early Sunday morning.

She was killed just a few hours after she and Rogers were out partying together.

Prodigy's jailhouse cookbook is bombing with California prison officials who seem to think it's a bad idea to teach inmates how to make hooch.

The Mobb Deep rapper's "Commissary Kitchen: My Infamous Prison Cookbook" was recently banned by the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation. Officials fired off a letter to Prodigy, explaining prison wine doesn't fly.

As they said in the letter, obtained by TMZ ... "inmate manufactured alcohol" is a major no-no.

Prodigy might have suspected this could be an issue. We had him on "TMZ Live" and he told us about some of his favorite recipes. He never mentioned the booze.

The only problem with this ban? Plenty of Cali inmates are already boned up on home brews ... or so we hear.

Jackie Jerome Rogers has been formally charged with the murder of Lisa Marie Naegle ... and we've learned the death penalty is off the table.

The L.A. County D.A. has charged Rogers with murder with special circumstances ... using a deadly and dangerous weapon. TMZ broke the story, Rogers confessed he struck Naegle in the head 7 times Sunday after she told him she was going to end her affair with him and try and save her marriage.

Rogers told cops where to find Naegle's body ... in a shallow grave in his L.A. area backyard.

We're told although it could be filed as a death penalty case because of the special circumstance, the D.A. has decided not to seek it ... presumably because it more resembles a "crime of passion."

Brad Pitt has fired back at Angelina Jolie ... essentially claiming she's a bad parent for putting their family drama on blast for public consumption.

Brad just filed legal docs asking for an order to seal their file. Angelina had previously filed unsealed documents alleging Brad had parenting issues that made it too risky for him to have unmonitored visits with their 6 kids. She also alleged Brad had a lot to hide about his conduct.

In Brad's new legal docs, he says Angelina knows better ... they are famous people and the kids are damaged when she airs their dirty laundry in public. He suggests Angelina going public has humiliated and embarrassed their kids and could even endanger them.

And there's this ... in the docs Brad's lawyer says, "[Angelina] apparently has no self-regulating mechanism to preclude sensitive information from being placed in the public record, or she has other motives."

Brad asked for an emergency order sealing the case but was shut down, so now he's filed a formal motion to seal the case ... something the judge indicated he would grant.

Ex-NFL star Jamal Anderson is back behind bars ... stemming from a bizarre incident at a Georgia gas station when the former Falcons star allegedly whipped out his penis in front of the clerk.
