Lil Wayne Birdman & Young Thug Tied to Bus Shooting Plot

Published | Updated

Birdman and Young Thug are connected to a plot to kill Lil Wayne ... which went down the night Wayne's tour bus got shot up in Atlanta ... according to cops.

The explosive allegation comes in the indictment for Jimmy Carlton Winfrey -- the guy busted for firing at Wayne's bus back in April. According to the docs, moments after Winfrey shot up the bus in Atlanta ... he called a phone owned by Birdman.

Adding further suspicion -- after that call, Winfrey drove to the Mandarin Oriental Hotel ... where Wayne's entourage stopped after the shooting. Cops don't say it in the indictment, but the insinuation is Winfrey was told to go finish the job ... but as we reported, police had met Wayne's entourage at the hotel to investigate the shooting.

TMZ broke the story ... Winfrey has been Young Thug's tour manager. Cops also point out that Winfrey is seen brandishing an assault rifle in Thug's "Halftime" music video ... which includes lyrics threatening to shoot Wayne in the head.

Birdman and Thug have not been charged with any crime -- but the indictment makes it clear cops think they're closely tied to the shooter.

Chris Brown Cops Believe He Was Tailed Before Home Invasion

Published | Updated

Chris Brown was not only targeted by the robbers who staged a bold home invasion robbery early Wednesday ... we're told they actually followed him and broke in while he was clubbing.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ, the robbers told Chris' aunt shortly after breaking in, they knew he was at a Hollywood nightclub and needed to move fast before Chris came home.

We posted video, showing Chris leaving Argyle nightclub in Hollywood just after 2 AM, almost the exact time the robbers forced their way inside his San Fernando Valley mansion.

Chris was hosting a pre-ESPY party which had been publicized, but law enforcement believes based on what the robbers told his aunt, they had someone at the club keeping tabs on him.

Although the identity of the robbers is unknown -- they were wearing ski masks -- we're told cops believe the culprits knew Chris and very possibly knew the layout of the house. Chris had a bad habit of inviting random people from the clubs to his home.

Amber Heard Charged With Dog Smuggling in Australia

Published | Updated

The Australians just won't let this case go ... now Amber Heard has been charged with illegally bringing two dogs into the country earlier this year.

It seemed Johnny Depp and his wife were off the hook when the pups high-tailed it back to the States in May, but now the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions has charged Heard (who apparently is technically the owner of the pups) with the illegal importing of animals, namely two Yorkshire Terriers named Boo and Pistol.

The maximum penalty is 10 years behind bars and/or a fine of $102,000.

Under Australian law, dogs brought into the country must be quarantined for 10 days to avoid spreading disease.

Heard has also been charged with "producing a false or misleading document, namely an incoming passenger card" ... which carries a one-year maximum sentence and and a $10,200 fine.

She is due to appear in Australian court on September 7.

THE MARKET MELEE

"Trap Queen" rapper Fetty Wap and his boys jumped a store clerk and beat the hell out of him -- maybe, possibly ... according to the clerk who's got cops hot on Fetty's ass now.

Cops in Paramus, NJ tell us the 19-year-old Shop Rite clerk claims a female patron slapped him Friday night, and then her male friends jumped in and started whupping him in the middle of the store. TMZ obtained this video of the melee.

The clerk told cops he thought one of the male attackers was Fetty Wap, but admits he's not positive it was the rapper because of all the commotion. He only suffered minor injuries and doesn't want to press charges ... but if cops can ID Fetty as one of the suspects, he could still be arrested.

Fetty's reps have not returned our calls for comment.

Chris Brown's Baby Mama Royalty's Not Safe Around His 'Gang' Friends

Published | Updated

Chris Brown lost more than $50k worth of gear in the home invasion ... it could also cost him daddy time, because his baby mama is worried Royalty's in danger when she's with Chris and his homies.

Sources close to Nia Guzman tell TMZ ... she thinks many of Chris' friends are gang members or gang-affiliated, and the robbery shows they've now turned on Chris. We're told she's not cool with Royalty being around that element.

As we first reported ... Chris' mother also thinks last night's hit was an inside job.

It's bad timing for Chris. He just filed docs asking a judge to hammer out a formal custody agreement -- partly because he says Nia's been denying him visits with Royalty.

If the court sees things Nia's way it could affect custody.

Warren Sapp BACK FROM THE DEBT ... My Bankruptcy Is Over!!!

Published | Updated

Finally, some GOOD NEWS for Warren Sapp -- his days of being bankrupt are OVER ... according to new docs obtained by TMZ Sports.

We broke the story ... the NFL Hall of Famer filed for Chapter 7 back in 2012 ... claiming he owed more than $6 MILLION in debts to various creditors.

In actuality, he owed more than $10.7 MILLION ... and he was forced to sell off a bunch of his personal property to pay back the cash he owed -- including various championship rings, his massive Nike collection, TVs, computers, furs and sports memorabilia.

According to court docs, Sapp ended up paying off roughly $2.9 million ... and most of the remaining $7.8 million was discharged ... which essentially means he has a clean financial slate.

Now, with his money problems seemingly over -- all Sapp has to worry about is that whole domestic violence thing ... and the hooker thing.

Congrats?

Too Short Screw Probation Just Put Me in Jail

Published | Updated

Too Short just told a judge he would NOT go on probation for violating his DUI plea deal, and the judge was more than agreeable ... so Short is now in jail.

I'M OUTTA HERE

Short struck a very sweet deal in which he avoided jail and simply had to complete community service and spend 3 years on probation. It's a great deal because he had multiple DUIs on his record.

But Short came up short today in court because he didn't complete his community service. The judge offered him more time, provided he'd agree to 3 more years of probation, but Short was sick of being monitored, so he told the judge he'd rather serve time.

Short got his wish, and he's now in the first day of a 90-day sentence. The reality, though ... because of overcrowding, he'll probably be a free man soon.

Chris Brown's Mom Home Invasion Was an Inside Job

Published | Updated

Chris Brown knows exactly who's behind the home invasion robbery because it was one of his homies -- at least according to Chris' mother.

Sources close to Chris tell us his mom, Joyce Hawkins, has been warning him for years about people she calls "no good-ass friends" -- grown men who make their living as professional hangers-on to Chris.

We're told the "friends" issue is part of the reason Chris and his mother have been beefing for years. Hours after the home invasion ... Joyce tweeted, "Watch who you standing beside."

Our sources say Joyce thinks Chris' buddies keep putting him in bad situations -- kind of a stereotypical Mom thing to say ... but maybe appropriate in this situation.

He refused to be more specific.

Denver Nuggets star Ty Lawson got busted for DUI in Los Angeles last night -- his second DUI arrest this year.

TMZ Sports has learned Lawson was pulled over by CHP for speeding on the 101 Freeway early this morning ... and officers determined he showed signs of intoxication ... so they gave him a field sobriety test.

Didn't go so good for Lawson. He was arrested around 2:30 AM.

Cops say during the arrest, Lawson identified himself as an NBA player -- and was carrying $6,000 IN CASH on his person.

We actually spoke to Lawson as he and his GF Ashley King (former "Bad Girls Club" star) were leaving Le Jardin nightclub in Hollywood -- moments before they jumped on the freeway. Interesting ... we talked marijuana with him.

He's still in jail right now. His bail's been set at $5,000.

Lawson was also charged with a DUI in Denver, back in January.
