In a statement to TMZ, the 18-year-old singer's rep says, "Demi Lovato left her tour early this weekend in order to seek medical treatment for emotional and physical issues she has dealt with for some time."

We're told Demi is not seeking treatment for drug use.

The statement continues, "Demi has decided to take personal responsibility for her actions and seek help. She is doing just that."

The rep concludes, "[Demi] regrets not being able to finish her tour, but is looking forward to getting back to work in the near future."

Sources close to Lovato tell us the singer was in a physical altercation with a female member of her tour recently ... which was a "catalyst" in her decision to seek professional help.

It's pretty stunning that Lindsay said this, since inpatient rehab was her only hope of staying out of jail.

The documents, prepared for today's hearing, say, "The defendant says her clothing line is falling apart because she is not available to monitor the product." She told the probation officer she's scheduled to start working on a movie in November -- we're guessing it's "Inferno" but the director tells us he will wait for her.

Lohan is due back in court on February 25. She will be subject to drug testing in between her release from rehab until her court date. If Lindsay does not test positive for drugs or alcohol before her next scheduled during that time, he will convert her sentence to unsupervised probation.

The D.A recommended Lindsay get 180 days in county jail. The judge specifically stated he wanted Lindsay in rehab past the New Year.

The judge said to Lindsay at one point, "You are an addict. I hope you understand that." Lindsay nodded her head in agreement.

He added, "I don't want another train wreck."

Lindsay's estranged father, Michael Lohan, sat on the opposite side of the court from Lindsay's mother, Dina.

Lindsay was in tears at the end of the hearing and when asked if she understood the judge's ruling, she responded, "No, your honor. I understand. Thank you."

Our reporter in the court said Lindsay showed off her SCRAM bracelet to her mother during the hearing and motioned as if she really wanted it removed. We're told that will happen soon.

Sean, who was also on Season 2 of "Celebrity Rehab," was pulled over for a traffic violation in the San Fernando Valley on Tuesday -- when police discovered he had an outstanding warrant for driving on a suspended license.

We're told Beverly Hills PD came to the scene and took Sean to 90210 jail, where he was booked at 4:33pm.

Sources tell TMZ Dina is hoping to set up a meeting of the matriarchs while she's in town visiting Lindsay in Betty Ford. We're told Dina plans on being in L.A. for about a week and would love to pick Kris' brain about how the Kardashian girls managed to do so well in the media spotlight ... while Lindsay has not.

Our sources say Lindsay and Kim had become close before Lindsay went to jail -- the two of them even met up while Lindsay was in NY visiting family back in September.

The upcoming "Celebrity Rehab" star just filed a lawsuit against the director of Oceanside Transitional Living in Malibu -- claiming she was forced to hand over her Cartier Santos watch when she checked into the place back in August ... but when she checked out, they "refused" to give it back.

According to the lawsuit, filed in L.A. County Superior Court, Rachel wants her case tried in small claims court -- where she's demanding a $7,500 payout ... the most one can get in small claims.

Uchitel is due in court in November -- almost one year from the time Elin and the world found out about her affair with Tiger Woods.

Calls to Oceanside have not been returned.

We're told Michael headed for the desert last Thursday ... to Rancho Mirage, home of the Betty Ford Center and temporary digs of Lindsay Lohan.

Michael was turned away by security. He was told visiting hours were over. Michael tells us he asked if he was on a "no contact" list and they told him no. But we're guessing his name is right under Osama's.

Lindsay checked in Monday -- and as we previously reported, the plan is for her to stay put in rehab at least until her probation violation hearing on October 22.

It's gonna run Lindsay a pretty penny too -- according to their website, 30 days of inpatient care at BF runs $26,000.

Sources tell TMZ Lindsay was surprisingly self-aware that she made a big mistake by falling off the wagon and testing positive for cocaine -- and that she couldn't fight her disease alone.

We're told Lindsay was also aware that her relapse had "ruined a lot" in connection to the revival of her career.

The man who lost father of the year by a mile tells TMZ ... he wants to make a case that Lindsay should go to rehab, not jail. He also wants the judge to issue an order prohibiting doctors from letting Lindsay out early.

Here's the reality.

A rep for Peniche tells us the former model decided to bail on a high-end rehab clinic -- where she was being treated for an addiction to meth.

We're told Kari Ann claims when she checked in -- her boyfriend promised to follow suit soon thereafter. But after day three -- the BF was a no-show ... so Kari Ann left the clinic in search of her guy.

We're told the couple is now working on their relationship -- and Kari Ann does plan to seek further treatment for her meth problem.

Lindsay hasn't seen her sister Ali, mother Dina or brother Cody since she's been a free woman. We're told Lindsay is in town for Dina's birthday, which is next Wednesday.

Sources close to Peniche -- who you may also remember from the Eric Dane/Rebecca Gayheart "naked tape" -- tell us she checked into an expensive, high-end rehab clinic late last night .. and plans to stay for 30 days.

Cameras were rolling last Thursday as Uchitel -- who is starring in the upcoming season of "Celebrity Rehab" -- sat down near a plaque dedicated to Andy O'Grady in New York's Central Park and read a letter she had written to honor his memory.
