Former Manchester United superstar Eric Cantona was arrested in London Wednesday after cops say he attacked a man at lunch.

According to local reports, Cantona was arrested in the super-swanky Primrose Hill area (a ton of celebs live in that area).

Cops are not saying what allegedly set Eric off ... but they confirm the alleged victim did not require medical assistance.

FYI -- Cantona is the guy who created the famous quote, "When the seagulls follow the trawler, it's because they think sardines will be thrown into the sea."

The quote was recently used by Shia LaBeouf ... who also seems to have an issue with fighting in London.

Selena Gomez allegedly knows all about Justin Bieber's predisposition for violence -- especially violence directed at paparazzi -- and that's why the lawyer for the photog who's suing the singer asked about her.

Attorney Mark DiCowden, who grilled Justin like a cheeseburger last Friday in Miami ... claims in new legal docs he asked Justin about Selena because she had witnessed Justin attacking a photog in May, 2012.

It's pretty clear the lawyer claims the attack is relevant in showing Justin's M.O. ... so he says the questions about Selena were appropriate. As you know, Justin went nuclear, ripped off his mic and walked out of the deposition after Selena was mentioned.

And DiCowden is going after Justin's lawyers as well, asking the judge to revoke their right to rep the singer on grounds they were just being obstructionists.

Justin Bieber was aggressively contentious during his 4 1/2 hour deposition Friday, but the videotape shows there were what seemed to be blackout periods as well.

We can't say for sure Justin nodded off during the depo, but it sure looks that way. His eyes closed and he seemed to be in a far away place.

People in his camp insist Bieber was not sleeping, but he does seem worn out during much of the questioning.

As you know, Justin is being sued by a photog who claims the singer instructed his bodyguard to beat him up.

During the questioning, the photog's lawyer asked Bieber if he had a prescription for Xanax. Before Justin's lawyer could object, the singer blurted out that he did not.

Justin's lawyer was clearly upset and told Bieber to hold his horses before answering.

It's a significant question ... because during Justin's DUI arrest cops say he admitted his mom had given him Xanax, and he tested positive for Xanax which is the basis for the DUI charge.

It probably won't impact the case. If Bieber was under the influence it doesn't matter whether he took it legally or not.

Justin Bieber sighs, grunts, gesticulates ... and is generally ornery during his marathon deposition Friday.

We've combed through the entire 4 1/2 hour depo -- where he's being sued for allegedly ordering his bodyguard to open up a can of whoop ass on a photog.

The mash-up is representative of all of Bieber's antics as he did everything humanly possible to avoid answering questions.

On one level he comes off incredibly unlikeable, but when you put some of the classic moments together it's kind of hysterical.

Justin Bieber viciously attacked the one person in his deposition who didn't have a dog in the fight ... the soft-spoken court reporter, who he essentially called a f***ing moron.

Justin sat for the 4 1/2 hour depo in connection with a lawsuit filed by a photog ... who claims Bieber ordered his bodyguard to beat him up.

During the depo, Justin was asked if Usher was instrumental in jump-starting his career. He answered faintly, "Yeah." The court reporter was having trouble hearing, so she asked him to speak up.

Justin Bieber can be insulting, arrogant, snotty, ignorant and disrespectful ... and all in one sitting -- because that's exactly what he was like during his deposition last week in the lawsuit where his bodyguard allegedly beat up a photog.

TMZ obtained a copy of the entire 4 1/2 hour, videotaped depo ... and it's just unreal. We've boiled it down to what we think are the best 4 clips.

1. ARROGANT BIEBER -- He just can't hide his contempt for the photog's lawyer, and it comes out in pretty awful ways. We put some snippets together and you'll get the idea. It represents his attitude throughout the depo.

2. LOVESICK BIEBER -- Selena Gomez is clearly a hot button, because when the lawyer asks about her, everyone goes nuclear. Bieber eventually rips his mic off and he and his lawyer storm out.

3. CONTENTIOUS BIEBER -- He compares his interrogation to being grilled by Katie Couric or "60 Minutes." Simply hilarious.

4. DISRESPECTFUL BIEBER -- When asked if Usher discovered him, Bieber disses his mentor and says he was actually discovered on YouTube. The best part ... he clearly was trying to say he himself was instrumental in his success, but instead he says, "I was detrimental to my own career."
Truer words have never been spoken.

Former UFC star Thiago Silva has been cleared to fight again ... not by the UFC (Dana White banned him for life) ... but by a judge, who says Silva has the right to earn his living.

As we previously reported, Silva was finally released from jail (on bail) after allegedly grabbing a gun and threatening to execute his wife and her boyfriend outside of a FL martial arts gym last month.

The judge slapped Silva with several restrictions (no drugs, booze, anger management, etc) ... but Silva's attorney Scott Saul tells us he DID allow Silva to resume training for his MMA career.

Weird, since one day he'll be learning how to manage his anger ... and the next he'll be training himself to pummel another man within an inch of his life.

We're told Silva -- who's under house arrest and wears an electronic tracking device -- has permission to train at a nearby gym. He's also allowed to visit with his attorney and his manager.

Aaron Hernandez has been charged with assault and battery for a ferocious attack on a defenseless inmate last month ... TMZ Sports has learned.

According to Sheriff Thomas Hodgson ... the charge is a misdemeanor offense.

TMZ Sports broke the story ... Hernandez attacked an inmate who was wearing handcuffs on February 25th. Our sources tell us the victim had been talking smack to Hernandez.

Hernandez was supposed to be isolated for his own protection.

Former UFC fighter Thiago Silva will be RELEASED FROM JAIL ... for the first time since he allegedly grabbed a gun and threatened to shoot his wife in Florida ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Silva was initially locked up without bond when he was arrested on Feb. 7th -- but today, the judge changed his mind and set bond at $25k.

But Silva isn't entirely a free man ... we're told he'll be on house arrest with an electronic monitor for the time being. He must also complete an anger management program.

The judge also ordered Thiago to stay away from his wife and her boyfriend at all times. He must also submit to random drug and alcohol testing.

As we previously reported, Thiago was initially arrested for attempted murder after allegedly threatening to shoot his wife and her BF in front of a martial arts school in FL.

The judge later reduced the charges to aggravated assault. Dana White has since banned Silva from ever fighting in the UFC again.

Justin Bieber lost his cool under oath Thursday, when a lawyer started peppering him with questions about Selena Gomez ... TMZ has learned.

Bieber sat for a 4 1/2 hour deposition in Miami in connection with a lawsuit filed by a photog who claims last June Bieber sent his hired muscle to beat him up.

The contentious lawyer for the bodyguard drilled Bieber on a variety of subjects, but things spun out of control when Selena Gomez was raised.

The lawyer started asking if Selena was present during any incident involving fights with photogs. Bieber's lawyer, Howard Weitzman, felt the lawyer was just trying to get a rise so he objected. But the lawyer persisted and asked again ... Bieber was fuming and Weitzman jumped in and said his client was being harassed.

The photog's lawyer asked about Selena again, and at that point Justin and Weitzman stood up and left, and as Justin was leaving he screamed, "Don't ask me about her, do not ask me about her!"

Five minutes later they returned but things got even hotter. At one point Bieber responded to a question with the word "Yeah." The lawyer said, "Do you mean yes?" To that Bieber responded, "What the f*** is the difference between yeah and yes?!"

A short time later Bieber fired back, "What is this, "60 Minutes?" At another point he responded to a question by saying to the lawyer, "OK Katie Couric, what's your question again?"

And even TMZ got in the act. The lawyer showed Bieber multiple TMZ posts, and the singer accused the lawyer of having an obsession by constantly surfing TMZ for Bieber stories.

And finally ... the lawyer asked Bieber if he has a prescription for Xanax, and Bieber responded, "No."

The rapper performed Saturday night at a bar in Atlanta ... and according to Dennis Byron -- the guy who shot the video -- Brat's raps were inspired by her prison stint.

We broke the story ... Brat has to pay an Atlanta Falcons cheerleader $6.4 million for beating her face in with a bottle back in '07.

Justin Bieber better grab a warm jacket ... because he's about to get the third degree -- courtesy of the lawyers repping the Miami pap who's suing the singer for battery.

Bieber just arrived for his deposition in the lawsuit filed by photog Jeffrey Binion, who claims Bieber's bodyguard Hugo Hesny choked him and stole his camera equipment last June outside a Miami recording studio. Binion claims Bieber ordered the attack.

The deposition is going to be ruthless -- sources tell us, Binion's lawyers are ready to go to war and are planning to ask Bieber hundreds of questions about EVERYTHING ... not just the Miami incident.

We're told the lawyers will cover every other pap scuffle ever -- including the most recent one in Atlanta -- as well as Bieber's drug use. And it won't end there either.

Whitney Houston's son-in-law got his ass beaten by one of Whitney's nephews at a formal family gathering ... and it's all because of a long-simmering family feud ... TMZ has learned.

We're told Whitney's nephew, Gary Michael Houston, went nuclear on Bobbi Kristina's husband, Nick Gordon … allegedly SLAMMING him to the floor and pummeling his face -- accusing him of talking crap about the family.

Family sources tell us ... it all went down at a Sweet 16 party for Whitney's niece, Rayah. We're told it was a formal affair -- everyone in tuxes and long gowns -- but Nick showed up in a hoodie and knit cap and "lookin' like a thug."

Gary felt Gordon had insulted the family one too many times ... as soon as the party was over, he delivered the beat down. We're told it was a lopsided fight -- Nick didn't even get in a single punch.

The two are now sluggin' it out on Twitter. Gordon posted, "F*** all of em they've tried to fight me (Gary H) jealous ass n***a."

Chris Brown has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, severe insomnia and Post Traumatic Stress Disorder ... and that's why he has had such anger issues ... this according to new court docs.

Chris was in court today for a progress hearing in the Rihanna beating case. Documents were filed by the facility where Chris just completed 90 days of anger management therapy. In fact, Chris stayed longer, just completing 95 days.

In the legal docs -- obtained by TMZ -- an official from the rehab facility wrote that ... in addition to his diagnosis ... Chris was self-medicating inappropriately.

The facility writes, "Mr. Brown became aggressive and acted out physically due to his untreated mental health disorder, severe sleep deprivation, inappropriate self-medicating and untreated PTSD." They never explain the cause of the PTSD. The letter also says Chris was diagnosed with Bipolar II.

The letter says Chris is on meds for the bipolar and other conditions.

Chris has learned various relaxation exercises, according to the letter, and he's tested negative for drugs, including weed, during his stay.
