Colombia Soccer Team Hero's Welcome In Bogota ... After World Cup Loss
The Colombia national soccer team got one helluva homecoming on Thursday -- with thousands of fans lining up in Bogota to show support -- just days after they were eliminated from the World Cup.
Star players like Falcao and Juan Cuadrado got giant ovations alongside teammates Abel Aguilar, David Ospina and Yerry Mina.
Colombia made it to the Round of 16 -- but, they were ultimately eliminated by England on Tuesday after the match went to penalty kicks.
Disappointing end for Colombia -- but, the team showed heart and resilience and the fans clearly appreciated it.
Nice to see ... considering back in 1994, Colombia player Andres Escobar was murdered after accidentally scoring an own goal during the World Cup.

David Cassidy Ashes Still in Storage ... But, For Good Reason
David Cassidy's ex-gf has some misguided outrage about his family storing his ashes ... because it's not what it seems.
Sources close to Cassidy's family tell TMZ ... David's ashes have been tucked away in a cremation unit since his November. David's ex, Maura Rossi, is now nuclear, claiming something untoward is going down.
Rossi thinks David has already been forgotten by his entire family and thinks they are dishonoring his memory by letting his ashes sit in storage. She says she's so upset, she can't even sleep or eat.
But here's the deal. We're told the plan all along was to wait until this summer to spread David's ashes in a place that was near and dear to his heart ... Saratoga Race Course in Saratoga Springs.
David was a horse racing nut, and wanted his ashes spread around the 154-year-old race track, which he frequented for more than 3 decades.
It's unclear when exactly the family's fulfilling David's final wish ... but, it's a good bet it'll come on August 18, when Saratoga hosts the "David Cassidy Memorial Race." Benches at Saratoga and the National Museum of Racing and Hall of Fame already bare his name.
As we reported ... David died after his organs failed. He was 67.

'Seinfeld' & 'Spider-Man' Actor Stanley Anderson Dead at 78
The guy who sentenced the 'Seinfeld' squad to a year behind bars in the series finale -- and who helped turned Willem Dafoe into the Green Goblin -- has died.
Actor Stanley Anderson passed away Sunday just six weeks after being diagnosed with brain cancer, according to a family statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter.
Anderson is perhaps best known at Judge Arthur Vandelay, who presided over Jerry Seinfeld and co.'s criminal trial in season 9's final episode, where the gang was thrown in jail for violating the "Good Samaritan Law" in a fake town in Massachusetts.
He also played General Slocum in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" -- who told Norman Osborn he was gonna cut his funding if he didn't try his ability enhancing serum on a human subject ... thus forcing Norm to try it on himself and become Spidey's arch nemesis.

Paris Jackson 'See You in My Dreams, Grandpa' Shares Final Moments with Joe Jackson
Paris Jackson was holding Joe Jackson's hand and reminiscing with him about Michael Jackson during her grandfather's final moments.
MJ's daughter posted an emotional tribute to Grandpa Joe, saying "I will cherish every moment with you til the day I die ... being able to hold your hand, lay with you and cuddle you, give you kisses all over your cheeks and forehead, meant more to me than you'll ever know."
She added, "Sharing stories my dad used to tell me about you, telling a joke and hearing you laugh for the last time. My heart is fulling knowing we left each other in that way."
Paris also said there was a steady stream of Joe's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren coming to pay their respects in his final days.
What's interesting about it -- especially the part about Michael's stories about Joe -- is MJ had cut his father out of his will. Michael's 2002 will left a life estate for Katherine Jackson, but nothing for Joe or any of his siblings.
As we reported, Joe made peace with the administrators of Michael's estate, and they'd provided for him in recent years.
It's clear Joe was also at peace with many of his family members ... especially Paris, who closed her message to him with ... "I'll see you in my dreams very very soon."

Prince William Visits Tomb Of Great-Grandma
Prince William toured Jerusalem on the final day of his solo pilgrimage to the Middle East and made sure to stop at the tomb of his great-grandmother, Princess Alice of Battenberg.
A little royal lineage knowledge ... Alice was the mother of Prince Philip, who is married to Queen Elizabeth, William's grandmother. Alice was deeply religious, and took in Jews during WWII, and her remains were transferred to the Convent of Saint Mary Magdalene in Jerusalem in the '80s, long after her death.
William laid flowers on her grave after visiting the Western Wall Thursday on his trip, which included stops in Jordan and Palestine. His trip wasn't political, but he handled it like a king.

Joe Jackson Dead at 89
10:30 AM PT -- Family sources tell TMZ, Joe died at a hospice in Las Vegas. The hospice is connected to a hospital where Joe was admitted. We're told he was moved to the hospice a day and a half ago.
Joe Jackson -- the patriarch of the Jackson family -- has died ... TMZ has learned.
Family sources tell TMZ, Joe passed away at 3:30 AM Wednesday.
We broke the story ... Joe was hospitalized in June with terminal cancer. His family had been flocking to his bedside since. His wife, Katherine, had been at his bedside as were some of Joe's children and grandchildren.
Joe had been battling health problems for some time now. He was hospitalized back in 2016 after coming down with a high fever. But, he bounced back not long after and was seen partying in Vegas. His health was also fragile after a stroke and 3 heart attacks back in 2015. Doctors implanted a pacemaker.
Joe may have been the most successful parent managing his children in the history of music. He, with a little help from Diana Ross, engineered the careers of The Jackson 5, and then Michael and Janet Jackson as solo artists.
The elder Jackson took a lot of heat from Michael and his siblings for abusing parenting and management practices, including physical brutality. Joe copped to it but, far from apologizing ... he said his methods made his kids successful and kept them out of jail.
Michael's dad stood by him during his molestation trial. After Michael's death, Joe was criticized for trying to make money off his son's memory.
A rep for Michael's estate tells us, "We are deeply saddened by Mr. Jackson’s passing and extend our heartfelt condolences to Mrs. Katherine Jackson and the family. Joe was a strong man who acknowledged his own imperfections and heroically delivered his sons and daughters from the steel mills of Gary, Indiana to worldwide pop superstardom."
Joe had 10 kids with Katherine, his wife of more than 60 years. The 2 did not live together and had a strained relationship for the last years of his life, but they frequently interacted.
Joe was 89.

"Bergen County wants to talk to him."
Here's the twist ... according to jail records obtained by TMZ Sports, 34-year-old William Jenkins was arrested in upstate NY on June 26 at 1:46 AM ET ... about 9 hours BEFORE the body was discovered at JJ's home.
It appears William was arrested for an unrelated parole warrant issue -- but now, investigators in the dead body case believe he might know something about the death of Roosevelt Rene.
Ritts tells TMZ Sports ... there will be an extradition process to bring William from Ontario to Bergen County, NJ -- which is about 300 miles away.
