A photo of Karreuche Tran has R&B singer Marques Houston looking over his shoulder after a comment he posted triggered death threats from a member of Chris Brown's crew.

Houston ogled Tran's pic, then paid her the highest compliment:

Houston's accolade set off one of Breezy's crew members, who responded by posting a pic of semi-automatics and a jarring warning.

The warning cannot be taken lightly, because the crew member is a known gang member.

You may recall, back in May, Tyson Beckford posted a pic of himself with Karrueche and Chris responded by tweeting, "U wanna keep walking them runways. I need ta legs for that."

The guy who co-founded Skype -- and sold it for $2.6 BILLION -- claims he got the picture when he found out his fiancee allegedly cheated on him, and now he's suing to get the ridiculously expensive ring back.

Janus Friis claims in a new lawsuit, he got engaged to Maria Louise Joensen -- a Danish recording artist who goes by Aura Dione -- back in 2013. As a symbol of his love, he gave her a $471,000 engagement ring, an apartment and cash, but claims there were strings attached to the gifts ... they had to seal the deal.

Friis claims he learned she had "multiple affairs and sexual encounters with other men" and broke off the engagement. So now he wants his stuff back.

If Maria's holding on to the ring, it's pretty obvious why ... Janus describes it as a 950 Platinum band inset with a number of diamonds, including a 1.76 ct round brilliant cut diamond -- D color, internally flawless, excellent symmetry and cut grade.

The ring also has a pair of blue pear shaped diamonds of South African origins with a collective weight of .91 ct.

Friis wants minimum $1 million.

The LAPD detective who investigated the death of Biggie Smalls died of an apparent heart attack while interviewing an L.A. County Sheriff's captain about Biggie's murder ... TMZ has learned.

Russell Poole was at the Sheriff's Homicide Bureau Wednesday interviewing the captain for a book he was writing about the case. Poole believed LAPD officers who worked off duty for Suge Knight had a hand in Biggie's killing ... as retaliation for Tupac's murder.

We're told Poole was interviewing the captain when he clutched his chest, said "I think I'm having a heart attack," and then keeled over.

Law enforcement sources tell us Poole -- who was 58 -- made it known he believed the LAPD wanted him dead. There's no evidence of foul play, and in fact we're told Poole suffered from chronic high blood pressure.

Kris Jenner has a lot of pull in Los Angeles ... but just because she unleashed her wrath on a longtime LA weatherman over social media, doesn't mean she got him fired despite all the rumors.

Sources close to the situation tell TMZ ... Kris had nothing to do with Garth Kemp's departure from his 17-year-long position as the KABC weatherman ... he actually left to pursue his dreams of being a voice over actor.

Rumors were flying around like crazy that Garth was forced out by head honchos at his ABC affiliated station because of Kris.

Back in June KJ put him on blast to millions of her Instagram followers ... calling him a bully after he talked smack about Kim and Kanye not having talent. We're told Kris only fired back on IG ... she never called the station and didn't want him to get fired.

Mama bird defending her family is one thing, but forcing a guy to get fired is something completely different.

Joanna Krupa is dragging several other Beverly Hills 'Housewives' into her defamation lawsuit against Brandi Glanville, TMZ has learned.

Joanna's lawyer fired off a letter requesting 4-hour sit-downs with Lisa Vanderpump, Yolanda Foster and Yolanda's ex-husband Mohamed Hadid. Brandi has said she only repeated the "smelly vagina" insult from comments she heard from Lisa, Yolanda and Mohamed.

It does raise the issue ... why didn't Joanna sue the trio, in addition to Brandi, who blasted the insult on "Watch What Happens Live."

Ray J just dropped $165k for a car, on the woman who got arrested for beating him up.

Ray gave Princess Love -- who allegedly attacked Ray J in February in New Orleans -- a 2015 Mercedes S63 AMG for her birthday.

She needs a car, because after they broke up he ungifted her 2012 Bentley.

We're told the two are talking again, but Ray says they're not dating.

And get this ... Ray sold his Ferrari and plunked down the proceeds at RD Whittington's Scottsdale Sports Car Group to buy 2 cars -- the Mercedes for her and a Maybach for him.

The honchos who run "Empire" don't know how to pay Terrence Howard because his ex-wife is gunning for his paycheck, so they've asked a judge for help in determining the payee.

Twentieth Century Fox is in a bind. Terrence is making big bank for the hit show, but according to his settlement agreement with Michelle, she's entitled to a chunk of his "Empire" salary.

Michelle has asked Fox to deduct the amount she's owed from Terrence's check and send it to her. Terrence is demanding the full amount, because he believes the settlement agreement is invalid.

So here's the bind. If Michelle's right, but Fox pays Terrence the full amount, they may be on the hook to her. If Terrence is right, but they pay Michelle what she's demanding, Fox may have to pay that amount again to him.

Kelly Rutherford has a problem after declaring she will NOT surrender her kids to her ex-husband ... a court has now ordered her to appear Tuesday ... with the children.

TMZ has learned, a New York judge just made the order at the behest of ex-hubby Daniel Giersch, who claims Kelly is a child abductor who has no right to keep the kids beyond the visitation period which ended last week.

Kelly says she's been to court in L.A. and New York and the judges in both states have said they have no jurisdiction over the case, therefore no one can order her to return the kids.

Giersch begs to differ, claiming he has a custody order that's legally binding on her, so she's now nothing more than a criminal.

The judge has said Kelly needs to be notified by 3 PM today about tomorrow's hearing, but service can be accomplished by email or a secured message to Facebook.

Multiple Niner locker room sources tell TMZ Sports ... Aldon and Colin had an altercation on the field during a practice on Tuesday, and "players had to pull them apart." It's interesting because there's been a lot of Internet buzz Smith's ex-gf is now with Kaep.
