Sen. John McCain I Do Love Ashton Kutcher ... And It's Not About Movies

Published | Updated

Ashton Kutcher and Sen. John McCain really did hit it off on Capitol Hill ... due to the actor's passion for something other than Hollywood.

We got McCain after Kutcher testified about the horrors of human trafficking, but as we told you McCain still snuck in a playful jab at Kutcher's expense as they were closing the Senate hearing.

Seems there's mutual admiration, because Ashton hung out with McCain afterward for a private tour of the Capitol. The Senator's clearly heard the bromance buzz sparked by his and Ashton's exchange, and based on this clip ... he doesn't mind a bit.

Obama and Biden are gone, but Senator John McCain and Ashton Kutcher are ready to fill the D.C. bromance void after sharing an air kiss during a Senate Foreign Relations Committee hearing.

Ashton was on the Hill testifying about human trafficking and modern-day slavery ... serious stuff. But McCain seized the opportunity for a little levity by making a playful jab about Kutcher's looks.

Ashton's comeback was spot-on.

Harrison Ford FAA Investigation Delayed By Heavy Traffic

Published | Updated

Harrison Ford will not know his flying fate for weeks and maybe a lot longer.

TMZ has confirmed ... Ford landed on a taxiway Monday at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, thinking it was the proper runway.

Sources familiar with the situation tell us ... the situation does not pose "an immediate danger" and the FAA is routinely investigating.

As we reported, Ford flew over an American Airlines Boeing 737 that was on the taxiway before touching down. He seemed confused, asking the tower, "Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?"

If Ford thought he was landing on an active runway, we're told standard procedure would be to abort because the other aircraft could well be preparing for takeoff and could slam into the smaller plane.

The weather conditions were partly cloudy at the time 74-year-old Ford landed, but he could definitely see the runway and taxiway. By the way, the taxiway is unmarked, in sharp contrast to the runway.

Ford just passed a pilot's medical exam last month.

People at various airports tell us Ford is an excellent and careful pilot.

Ford was on final approach at John Wayne Airport in Orange County Monday when he mistook a taxiway for the runway. He flew his single engine Aviat Husky over an American Airlines 737 loaded with passengers and then landed on the taxiway.

After Ford landed he radioed the tower, "Was that airliner meant to be underneath me?"

NBC News first reported the incident.

The 74-year-old actor/pilot was involved in a scary 2015 plane crash on a Santa Monica golf course. He was badly injured but recovered.

HOEDOWN THROWDOWN

Margot Robbie just upped her cool chick factor by partying and dancing in a Georgia watering hole called Southern Comfort. Instant cool chick cred.

Margot took a break from filming the Tonya Harding movie over the weekend outside Atlanta, and producers threw a get-together for the cast and crew. Margot kicked off her ice skates and put on her dancing shoes to hit the floor with her co-star Paul Walter Hauser.

Paul plays Shawn Eckhardt, Tonya's bodyguard, and he's apparently pretty good on his feet too ... based on this video. Our sources say Margot and about 30 others sucked down pitchers of beer and cocktails.

Not that it got too wild ... we're told Margot's real-life husband was there too. We don't blame him.

Some of the items ... Debbie’s SAG Life Achievement Award and Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, along with costumes from ‘Molly Brown’ and "Singin' in the Rain."

Todd says they'll consider transferring some items to the Academy Museum of Motion Pictures when it eventually opens, but for now it'll all live in the studio.

Debbie opened the place in 1979 and a bunch of celebs, including Lucille Ball, Michael Jackson, Madonna, Bette Midler, Cher, Usher and Mariah Carey, rehearsed there.

NO WORDS FOR OBAMA

Morgan Freeman has played a president in the past, but an older Obama may be off the table.

Freeman was at Milos restaurant in NYC Thursday night when our photog posed the question ... if there is an Obama role in his future, and Morgan shut it down with haste.

It's unclear what he meant by "Don't speak Obama" ... but there are some clues. The actor said back in 2011 Obama made racism worse, but only because he motivated the Tea Party to get more vocal.

And when he was a no-show in Sept. when Obama presented a bunch of celebs with a National Medal of Arts -- the prez joked Morgan was off somewhere playing a president. Seems like they're fans of each other.

So, maybe he meant in a "we're not worthy" kinda way.

Morena Baccarin My Ex-Hubby Sucks My 'Deadpool' $$$ ... Help Me Out, Judge!

Published | Updated

Morena Baccarin is fed up with sending huge checks to her ex-husband every month ... and she wants the court to cut her a break.

The "Gotham" and "Deadpool" actress says she's paid Austin Chick $340,088 in spousal support, another $100k from their community estate and $147,302 in "Deadpool" residuals. That's more than half a million dollars since June 2015.

According to the docs, Morena's been sending Chick more than $20k monthly as a temporary support deal until they hammer out a permanent agreement. She says that's screwing her over, because she'll likely end up paying way less when the case is finalized. She says she's also pissed he's made no effort to get a j-o-b of his own.

Her bottom line: this Chick's overpaid and underworked.

Morena wants the judge to allow her to stop making those fat temporary payments.

'A Dog's Purpose' American Humane Ass'n We Got No Real Problem with Video

Published | Updated

The American Humane Ass'n finally weighed in on the video TMZ posted from the set of "A Dog's Purpose," and they are virtually ignoring criticism from the movie's Exec Producer that they were asleep at the wheel.

The AHA -- which was responsible for protecting the animals on the set -- spends most of its time in the statement going after the person or persons who gave TMZ 2 videos -- one showing a trainer trying to put the dog in the water and the second where the dog is actually swimming. They note the 2 clips were shot at different times, raising "serious questions about their motives and ethics."

Most interesting ... the clip where the dog clearly does not want to go in the water and the trainer gets aggressive with the animal ... the AHA says, "the handling of the dog ... should have been gentler and signs of stress recognized earlier."

The Executive Producer of the movie has blasted the AHA, saying the org should have put its foot down when it was on set monitoring the scene and then reported the incident. The Exec Producer told TMZ he believes the AHA is compromised because its in bed with the studios.

The AHA says it had a vet check the German Shepherd in question last week and he was a-ok.

Short story ... the AHA never says it did anything wrong.

Margot Robbie Tonya Harding to a T ... 'Suck My D***!'

Published | Updated

If you couldn't imagine Margot Robbie as Tonya Harding ... you will now, 'cause she NAILED the most awesome Tonya line ever during filming.

This clip from the behind the scenes of the Tonya movie seems to be recreating one of her many infamous moments ... when Harding got pissed at U.S. Figure Skating officials ragging on her outfit.

If Margot isn't the perfect physical fit for the role ... she's definitely got the mouth down. It's unclear if Tonya really did punctuate the argument this way -- but if she didn't, she'll wish she had when she sees Margot do it.

We're starting to smell Oscar.

Malia Obama Pitching Scripts to Weinstein Execs ... And She's Just An Intern!

Published | Updated

Malia Obama already has one hell of an entry level job as the Weinstein Company's newest intern -- she's picking and choosing scripts to pitch to execs ... TMZ has learned.

Our Weinstein sources tell us Malia started work Monday and she's ensconced in the production/development department ... reading through scripts and deciding which ones move on to Weinstein brass.

We're told Malia's internship will run through the Spring.

Weinstein gets lots of scripts from top screenwriters and unknowns alike, with good reason -- the company produced some of Hollywood's most decorated films over in the last decade ... like "The King's Speech," "The Artist," "Shakespeare in Love," "Silver Linings Playbook," "Django Unchained," and "Good Will Hunting."

As we've reported ... Malia brushed up on her film aesthetic last week at Sundance ... which she chose to attend on her own time before the internship.

One last thing ... we've learned she's getting paid, even though it's probably around $9/hour. Still a sweet gig for the former prez's kid ... and it beats running coffees any day.
