Cowboys WR Lucky Whitehead Arrested for Shoplifting ... Wanted Man

Published | Updated

12:09 PM PT -- Prince William County PD has released a statement about the incident --

"On June 22 around 1:30AM, officers responded to the WAWA located at 2051 Daniel Start Sq in Woodbridge to investigate a larceny in progress.

An employee reported to police that a man ran out of the store without paying for some merchandise. When officers arrived, they located the man in the parking lot.

Following the investigation, the accused, identified as Rodney Darnell Whitehead - age 25, was charged with petit larceny and released on a court summons."

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver Lucky Whitehead was arrested in Virginia in June for shoplifting -- and now a warrant has been issued for his arrest ... TMZ Sports has learned.

The 25-year-old was busted in Prince William County, VA on June 22 for shoplifting/petit larceny under $200. We're told Whitehead allegedly took stuff from a convenience store.

He was ordered to appear in court on July 6, but according to court records he didn't show up -- so a warrant was issued for his arrest. He's since been charged for failure to appear.

We reached out to Whitehead's rep -- so far, no word back.

FYI, Whitehead was undrafted but signed a 3-year $1.5 million contract with the team in 2015.

Whitehead isn't the first Cowboys player to be accused of shoplifting -- ex-Dallas running back Joseph Randle was busted stealing cologne and mens underwear from a Texas department store in 2014.

Cops: Michael Irvin's Accuser Did Cocaine and MDMA ... Before Alleged Incident

Published | Updated

The woman who accused Michael Irvin of rape tested positive for several drugs in her system after the alleged incident, including cocaine and ecstasy ... this according to prosecutors.

According to a State Attorney report on the case, obtained by TMZ Sports, the accuser took a toxicology test at a nearby hospital just a few hours after the alleged incident in the early hours of Wednesday, March 22. She told officials she did not take any drugs that night and believes something was put in her drink.

But the toxicology report came back showing the presence of amphetamine, MDMA, cocaine and alcohol in her blood. Her B.A.C. was a .10 despite the fact she had stopped drinking hours before.

The woman later admitted to investigators that she took a "small amount" of Xanax and ecstasy on the 19th and 20th -- and fessed up to doing cocaine over the weekend. Officials didn't believe her cocaine excuse because coke metabolizes "almost immediately" and would likely not show up if taken that long ago.

Either way, officials say they couldn't prove that Irvin provided any of the drugs to her.

There's more ... officials also did the blacklight test in Irvin's hotel room and did find some semen -- on the corner of a seat cushion. But they couldn't prove if it was Irvin's or someone who had previously stayed in the room. Gross.

Investigators also found video of the woman partying with Irvin earlier in the evening and even gyrating her hips around him near his hotel room.

Officials also say the woman underwent a vaginal swab after the alleged incident but there was no trace of Irvin's DNA.

Ultimately, prosecutors came to the following conclusion:

"The victim's inability to recall details, the inconsistent statements, her alcohol and drug use, coupled with the video evidence showing her voluntarily entering the hotel with the defendant and 2-and-a-half hours later exiting the hotel elevator with the defendant while not appearing upset, make this a case where there is not a reasonable likelihood of conviction."

Michael Irvin Off the Hook In Rape Case

Published | Updated

Prosecutors will NOT press rape charges against Michael Irvin after investigators determined they had no strong case against the NFL Hall of Famer, officials tell TMZ Sports.

As we previously reported, Irvin was being investigated in Ft. Lauderdale after a 27-year-old woman told police Irvin sexually assaulted her at his hotel room during a March 21 incident.

Irvin adamantly denied any wrongdoing from the start -- saying he never had any sort of a sexual relationship with the woman. Irvin told us she was like a family member to him before the allegations.

Now, Ron Ishoy at the Broward State Attorney's Office tells TMZ Sports, "The Irvin case has been closed out for lack of evidence and no likelihood of conviction."

The paperwork closing out the case will be filed this afternoon.

Irvin is having a news conference Monday.

Pacman Jones Suspended Without Pay Over Insane Hotel Incident

Published | Updated

Pacman Jones has finally received his NFL punishment over that hotel incident in which he allegedly assaulted a security officer and told a cop to "suck my d*ck" ... and he'll only miss 1 game.

PACMAN GOES OFF

Jones was initially arrested for disorderly conduct, assault and obstructing official business -- but the first two charges were dropped and he ultimately pled guilty to the 3rd.

The NFL says Jones will be suspended without pay for the first 2017 regular season game for violating the league’s Personal Conduct Policy.

The NFL says it considered the crazy video of Jones going off on the cops when the league decided his punishment.

The league issued a letter to Jones saying, "As you acknowledged, your post-arrest words and actions reflected poorly on you and your family, the Cincinnati Bengals football club, and the NFL. While it is our understanding that appropriate apologies have been publicly extended, they do not completely negate your behavior and admission of culpability for the underlying conduct."

Jones has 3 days to appeal the punishment, if he chooses to do so.

VICK LOSING RESPECT

Geno Smith. Ryan Fitzpatrick. Matt Barkley.

They have jobs. Colin Kaepernick doesn't. And it's not sitting right with Brandon Marshall.

The Denver Broncos linebacker has been a staunch ally and friend of Colin's for years -- since they played together at Nevada back in college, where they were also fraternity brothers.

Marshall -- who famously joined Kap's national anthem protest last season -- says Colin is still immensely talented and driven and BELONGS in the league.

He also tells us Colin's smart, talented, hard-working -- he's not a menace and won't do anything to cause an NFL organization any issues if he's signed this year.

Marshall also has strong feelings about Mike Vick's haircut comments -- saying, "Those words should never have come out of his mouth from a black man to another black man."

In the blue corner ... 39-year-old Steelers LB pushing a sled weighing OVER 1,800 POUNDS -- that's one plate for each year of his life.

In the red corner ... 22-year-old Falcons LB Duke Riley pulling an SUV weighing AT LEAST 5,500 POUNDS -- a 2017 Yukon Denali plus his buddy in the driver's seat.

James takes a few tries. Duke did his easy.

Keep in mind, though ... pushing is harder than pulling -- and Duke has wheels workin' for him too.

So, what's more impressive?

Mike Vick Regrets Kaepernick Hair Comments 'Truly Sorry For What I Said'

Published | Updated

Mike Vick says he never should've suggested Colin Kaepernick cut his afro to look more presentable to NFL owners ... and admits he "should've used a better choice of words" when addressing the free agent QB.

Vick's been under fire since he made controversial comments about Kap on FS1's "Speak for Yourself" earlier this week ... and the ex-NFL star says his original message was taken out of context.

"Obviously, we all know his afro has nothing to do with him being signed, and I wasn't trying to relay that message. It was just more so about helping him at the end of the day," Vick told the "Dan Patrick Show" on Thursday.

Vick says he's always been a Kaepernick supporter and is "truly sorry for what I said."

Giants Co-Owner Steve Tisch Kaepernick's Hair Ain't A Problem He's Not Being Blackballed

Published | Updated

Steve Tisch says Michael Vick is dead wrong about Colin Kaepernick ... telling TMZ Sports his hair has nothing to do with his NFL return, because Tisch doesn't think he's being blackballed.

We got Steve, the co-owner of the NY Giants at Craig's out in L.A. and asked him if he thought there was any truth to Michael Vick's controversial statements about Colin Kaepernick's appearance.

Vick said Kaep should cut his afro to show NFL teams a cleaner cut look, with the thinking being that chopping his locks could make him more presentable to owners afraid of his off-the-field activism.

Tisch flatly told us he didn't think it was about the hair, and when we asked if he believed Colin was getting blackballed at all -- something a lot of NFL players think -- he said "No."

When we say "new" we mean it ... Johnny has been keeping his nose extremely clean, working out, laying low, and hanging out with his brand new fiancee, Bre Tiesi.

Munoz says if that guy is here to stay, he thinks it's only a matter of time before some NFL GM gives Johnny a chance to redeem himself.

You hear that, kid? Don't mess it up.
