LA Sheriff's Dept. to The Game The Investigation Continues
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department finds it interesting that The Game says he wasn't the one who Tweeted out their phone number to over 500,000 people -- but their investigation into the matter isn't over.
As TMZ first reported, The Game says it was his friend who gave out the number to the Compton Sheriff's Station ... telling people to call it if they wanted an internship ... and causing them to be overrun with calls.
But Capt. Mike Parker tells TMZ that doesn't close this case just yet. He tells us, "We find the rapper's alleged comments in news media reports and on Twitter interesting and relevant, including who he says is actually responsible.
Capt. Parker wants Game to contact the Sheriff's Department so they can sort this all out. Until then, Capt. Parker says, "The investigation continues."

The Game I Didn't Punk the Cops On Twitter
The Game is incredulous that cops want to charge him for allegedly inciting people on Twitter to harass the L.A. County Sheriff's Department, claiming he never sent the tweets in question.
Sheriff's officials are livid after a tweet went out from The Game's twitter account urging people to call the Sheriff's substation in Compton to get a rap internship.
But The Game tells TMZ he never authored the tweet in question. Game says he was in the middle of a photo shoot Friday night when a childhood friend of his -- whose Twitter handle is @wackstar -- began going to town on The Game's phone ... typing in five phone numbers and calling people to action.
The Game insists his friend had no idea one of the numbers went to the Sheriff's Department. The Sheriffs claim that once their office was flooded with phone calls they asked The Game to call people off -- but Game says he never received the message. As he put it, "They don't have my number and I'm not following the police."
As for the police wanting to have The Game charged with a crime, he says, "Casey Anthony can get away with murder and The Game goes to jail for tweeting. God bless America."

The Game COULD FACE CHARGES OVER TWITTER PRANK
Rapper The Game could face criminal charges after he tweeted the phone number of the sheriff's station in Compton, CA -- but told people it was the number to call for an internship -- causing the station's phone lines to become overrun with calls and delaying emergency services.
The calls began around 5:20 PM PT, with most callers hanging up when they heard it was a sheriff's station ... and the rest asking how they could intern for The Game.
Deputies eventually discovered The Game's tweets and Sheriff's Capt. Mike Parker tweeted at him to put an end to it (see above). The Game eventually responded (also above) and deleted the tweets.
The calls ended around 8:00 PM, but Capt. Parker said it was unclear how many people with legitimate calls could not get through during that time.
According to the Sheriff's Department, they plan on turning over a complaint to the District Attorney's office to possibly file charges -- including delaying or obstructing a peace officer in the performance of their duties.

Johnny Gill You Can't Sue Me for What I Say ON TWITTER!
New Edition star Johnny Gill thinks a new lawsuit against him is total BS -- because he thinks people shouldn't be allowed to sue over what gets said on Twitter.
As TMZ first reported, Gill is being sued by a record producer who claims Gill damaged her reputation by claiming (on Twitter) that she leaked one of his songs on the Internet.
But yesterday at LAX, Gill told our photog he thinks people should say what they want on Twitter, because otherwise "the courtrooms would be filled with a bunch of Twitter people complaining about things people say every day ... It's freedom of speech."
We'll see if a court agrees.

New Edition Singer Sued Over TWITTER Attack!
New Edition singer Johnny Gill waged a ferociously bitter Twitter war against the CEO of his record label last week -- calling her "f**king nuts" -- and now she's taking his ass to court.
The producer, Ira DeWitt -- wife of St. Louis Cardinals owner Bill DeWitt -- claims Johnny was PISSED when a song rumored to be on his upcoming album was leaked on the Internet ... and he wrongly blamed her.
According to the lawsuit, filed Thursday in L.A. County Superior Court, DeWitt claims she had nothing to do with the leak -- but Gill attacked her on Twitter anyway ... calling her "deranged" and "f**kng nuts."
DeWitt also claims Gill tweeted defamatory statements about her business ... saying her record company is a sham and that she only liked the leaked recording because she had a "hard on" for one of the song's producers.
DeWitt claims Gill has damaged her reputation -- so she's suing for unspecified damages ... AND she wants the judge to force Gill to stop trashing her on Twitter.
Calls to Gill have not been returned.

Ryan Dunn Dead 'Jackass' Star Dies in Car Crash
"Jackass" star Ryan Dunn died in a car crash in Pennsylvania early this morning ... TMZ has confirmed with Bam Margera's mother.
34-year-old Dunn appeared in all of the "Jackass" movies -- famously shoving a toy car into his rectum in the first flick back in 2002.
Dunn and an unidentified person both died in the crash which happened around 3 a.m. at Route 322 and New Street in West Goshen Township. It's unclear who was driving the car.
We're told the car caught fire in the crash -- and hours later, a tow truck was called to the scene to remove the charred wreckage.
Just hours before his death, Dunn posted a photo on Twitter showing himself drinking with friends.

Eli Roth: Russell Crowe Is NOT Anti-Semitic
Eli Roth is outraged that a reporter for The Hollywood Reporter took what he says was a "joking exchange between friends" -- Eli and Russell Crowe -- and then attacked Crowe as being anti-Semitic.
It all started when Eli and Russell -- who often tease each other on Twitter -- were joking about circumcision. Crowe tweeted, "I love my Jewish friends. I love the apple and the honey and the funny little hats but stop cutting yr babies," adding, "I'll take attentive parenting over barbarism."
Apparently a reporter from The Hollywood Reporter saw the exchange and went after Russell with a headline that said he "insults Jews."
Congressman Pic Raises Questions About Hacking
A new pic -- apparently showing the naked torso of Congressman Anthony Weiner -- has now surfaced, and it's looking like his claim that his Twitter account was hacked may be bogus.
This pic -- obtained by BigGovernment.com -- was allegedly sent on May 20 of this year to a woman from Weiner's Yahoo email address.
According to BigGov, Weiner apparently used the account to store many other personal photos of himself -- thus suggesting the shirtless photo is him.
Weinergate exploded last month after a Twitter pic was leaked, showing a man with a bulge in his underwear. Weiner has hedged, saying he can't say for sure it's him, but claims he never sent the pic to anyone and his account was hacked.
