LeBron James L.A. Home Vandalized With N-Word Graffiti ... Hate Crime

Published | Updated

An L.A. home owned by LeBron James was the target of a hate crime -- someone spray painted the n-word on the front gate and detectives are now investigating, cops tell TMZ Sports.

Here's what we know ... multiple LAPD units and a neighborhood patrol vehicle responded to the home early Wednesday morning. We're told the word was scrawled on the outer gate.

We're told investigators are looking for security footage from neighbors which may show the perpetrator.

Records show LeBron bought the house back in 2015 but it does not appear he lives there on any regular basis.

The graffiti has since been covered up.

We're told LeBron was not at the home at the time of the incident -- he's presumably in the Bay Area gearing up for Game 1 of the NBA Finals, which starts Thursday.

MADD Roars at Tiger Woods Rx Pills Are No Excuse!

Tiger Woods sent a "dangerous and deadly message" to his fans when he decided to get behind the wheel after taking prescription medication ... this according to Mothers Against Drunk Driving.

MADD is the nation’s largest nonprofit working to protect families from impaired driving -- and clearly, they're unhappy with Tiger's excuse that he simply had an "unexpected reaction to prescribed medications."

"When athletes and celebrities who serve as role models, like Tiger Woods, allegedly make the decision to drive impaired, it sends a dangerous and deadly message," a MADD spokesperson tells TMZ Sports.

"There are no excuses to drive under the influence of any impairing substance, whether its alcohol or any legal or illegal impairing drugs."

"We’re just grateful no one was hurt or killed as a result of his choices and actions."

Nashville Predators Dead Catfish Thrower ... Swimming in Charges

Published | Updated

The Nashville Predators fan who chucked a DEAD CATFISH on the ice during game 1 of the Stanley Cup finals has been hit with criminal charges ... officials say.

Officials say 36-year-old Jacob Waddell smuggled the dead fish into PPG Paints Arena in Pittsburgh on Monday -- and flung it onto the ice as the Preds took on the Pittsburgh Penguins.

FYI, the catfish toss has become a tradition at Predators home games ... so doing it on the road is really like a slap in the face to the opposing team.

Waddell has bragged online that he snuck the fish into the arena by vacuum sealing it and stuffing it into his shorts ... then unwrapping it in a bathroom once inside.

He unleashed the fish in the 2nd period.

Waddell was immediately escorted out of the building -- and now, prosecutors in Pittsburgh have charged him with disorderly conduct, possessing instruments of crime and disrupting meetings/processions.

It's kind of a big deal -- if convicted on all counts he could face around 6 years behind bars.

The Preds lost the game 5-3, but Waddell is being hailed as a hero in Nashville ... just ask Carrie Underwood, who tweeted, "My hero."

Tiger Woods Asleep at Wheel Failed Field Sobriety Test

Published | Updated

Tiger Woods was asleep at the wheel in a stopped car at 2:03 AM -- about 8 miles from his house -- when cops came upon him before his arrest, and he was completely out of it.

According to the police report, obtained by TMZ Sports, Woods was in his 2015 Mercedes asleep at the wheel with the motor running and right blinker flashing. The report says Woods "had extremely slow and slurred speech."

He told cops he was "coming from L.A. California from golfing." He then changed his story and said he didn't know where he was.

According to the report, 4 drugs were listed under medical conditions -- Solarex, Vicodin, Torix and Vioxx. It notes Vioxx was not taken this year. It says Tiger had 4 left knee surgeries and 4 Achilles.

The report says he flunked the field sobriety test badly ... he couldn't do the one-leg stand or the nose touch. The report says when asked if he understood the Romberg alphabet test, he stated, "yes, recite entire national anthem backwards."

According to the report, Woods was arrested and taken to a testing facility. At 4:28 AM, he took a breathalyzer test and blew zeros. It says he was "cooperative as much as possible, very droopy, extremely sleepy, hard to keep eyes open, hard to walk."

Tiger has since said he had an "unexpected reaction to prescribed medications" ... adding, "I didn't realize the mix of medications affected me so strongly."

He's due in court in July.
